Could Ian and the rubbish bag be the stuff he took to the charity shop - including the music box? |

1.) That would make for pretty poor drama for the next month. 2.) The character was thicker than the proverbial couple of short planks, to put it kindly. |

Other clues... 8 Down - FRAME. (frame someone?) 18 Down - VET. (guess who wanted to be a vet?) 23 Across - STOP IT. I LOVE YOU written in pink, a woman? So...I LOVE YOU LEE STOP IT? Edited by North Korea, 4 Jan 2015, 12:10.

I love you, Lee. Stop it. Never noticed that. Very clever. She didn't love Lee though, she only knew him a matter of days. |

Didn't notice the vet entry before. Nice spot. But the clue for it at the side? "He leaves...start. Yuk!" Can a vet fit that description?! Or was DTC keen to fit vet in there somewhere... Red herring Abi for me. |

"He leaves....start". Could that be referring to the fact that when Jay left Abi, that was the start of her new attitude? |

Or the crossword clues are red herrings? 8 Down - FRAME. (frame someone?) - Jake? Ben (he killed Hev with a frame)? 18 Down - VET. (guess who wanted to be a vet?) - Abi for sure 23 Across - STOP IT. - Lola said 'Stop it' in Fatboy's Good Friday video? I LOVE YOU written in pink, a woman? - I don't understand this one, it could be referring to Whitney or Lucy but neither knew Lee for long. Edited by SlingYourHook, 4 Jan 2015, 14:35.

Abi would just be too horrifyingly bad... In the context of the current show, it is a certainly possible, but Lorna is a very weak actress and utterly unconvincing. Can you imagine her carrying the weight of Live episodes and having a lot of focus afterward? The show would become a laughing stock. |

I have ruled out Peter because we know that Ben Hardy is leaving so that makes Ian the most likely suspect simply from an 'emotional impact' point of view. What could be more tragic than a father accidentally killing his daughter and repressing the traumatic accident? Any other far-fetched scenario involving a character that is not related to Lucy would amount to a rather trivial, disappointing and 'unsoapworthy' murder plot. |

I believe, Ben and Jay mugged Lucy and stole her phone and purse, whether Lucy was aware of the identities of her attackers. |

Jane could have helped move the body in her car. Who could she be protecting? If it's not Ian (I don't think it is) it has to be someone she's close to. It would have to be someone who she'd feel justified in protecting and perhaps think Ian's better off not knowing the truth.... so perhaps the truth is worse than not knowing or it's someone that Ian's close to too. |

I agree. Abi as the murderer would not have any impact or make any sense in line with what DTC is saying. Then again Lorna did win the Best British Actor award at BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards

I think the only way Abi could work is if Max helped her and so Abi can go to prison ehilst Max remains and has to live with the consequences. What's exciting is that almost every suspect is a reasonably long-standing character with big ties to other people so there should be a big impact no matter who it is. |

Jumping the shark? Not at all. Did you read Anna Acton's interview? She's done her research homework. In most situations like Lucy's killing, the perpetrator is usually found to be a close relative or someone the victim knows well and trusts. The first thing the police would have done would have been all over Ian like a bad rash, especially once they'd heard about his last quarrel with Lucy and the sort of tempestuous relationship they had. The second suspect in question would be Peter, and even moreso, regarding Lucy's drug use and the part he played in that. Ian could easily have accidentally killed his daughter, and considering his recent mental breakdown, and with the physical manifestations of that re-surfacing again, he could easily have blocked the incident out.
As a collaborator but not as a perpetrator. |
