The cin theories are driving me a bit mad haha! Like it would be revealed in a crossword?

If anything, it would be poignant for Ian to have dreamt of Lucy and for her to write "I love you " as a gesture of forgiveness.

Phil is helping Ian now because Ben's involved.

Weird to think we'll know who killed Lucy 6 weeks this Thursday. I'm SO EXCITED.

I think Walford Web will guess who it is before then though ;)

I thought it may be possible that Max stumbled across what happened while he was out and has been blackmailed or bullied into secrecy by Jane and Ben. He might have been told that he is the sacrificial lamb if he thinks of saying anything to anyone with Lucy's fall in his office and their affair etc.

From the start, it seems like he knew something. Jane didn't seem surprised by the affair revelation and Max took the revelation of his affair with Lucy very placidly where he'd usually stand his ground to the last. He never really liked Ian before this, he only tolerated him as Ian's wife was friends with his wife and although grief can change the way you see a person, it seems like he sees Ian as a mate that he doesn't have any enthusiasm to be around now. Perhaps he did stumble upon what happened, was sworn to secrecy and rambled that something awful had happened to Abi in shock without telling her exactly what it was.

Hence, when Emma said "it wasn't there" and then went "you know", she could have been referring to Max knowing what happened.

what if Les did kill her?

not only for business but what if she found out nick was alive? and he was behind it being the drug dealer or something?

maybe she bribed them to keep her silence on nick being alive and it threatened les and pams funeral business and they got rid of her ? to keep their secret?

If Les and/or Pam are Lucy's killer(s), I'll be massively disappointed, and will probably laugh. And not be able to defend the show again.

I've narrowed Lucy's killer down to five: (1) Whitney (2) Denise (3) Jane (4) Max and (5) Lee.

So do we reckon the flashback will be after the reveal?

in my honest opinion i believe it could be Jane or Denise

but I am going into Denise direction more

if Jane had killed her I dont believe there's a motive I believe it could be relating to the problems with lucy and her attitude, maybe she tried to help her and she had a bit to drink and got abusive to Jane, maybe Jane went to find lucy and talk her round to do the right thing and maybe it was a case of an accident and it got to the point where it got physical where Jane wanted to take her home and maybe Lucy had another accident similar to the one which happened at the car lot which triggered a severe blow?

Denise however had motive we know how lucy has a bitchy nature and maybe she was one of the reasons behind Denise being miserable and unhappy, seeing how Ian always put her needs before Denise and she wasnt fond of lucy leading upto the events of her death seeing the episodes again, Denise has had alot of hurt and suffering in her life maybe shes developed a sinister side and its slowly surfacing

i really cant wait for the live episodes I really dont think it will be a great twist if abi killed her cos its just out of immature childish jealousy and abi was using this against her dad not lucy so maybe she wanted to punish max alone by sending them emails and pic of him to scare him or something but it would be silly if thats the excuse

Peter's story has kind of been told now, though, with the drugs, etc. I think it was more like a herring and he won't be featured much until the anniversary. Plain Jane would be such a boring killer. It might work in a detective story with many murder mysteries but not so well for something on this scale.

The killer is one of the following, in my opinion…

Whitney or Denise.

Can't decide which one...

i still think denise she has been close to a mental break down for ages she blames ian for everything that happened

maybe she puts more of that hatred in lucy as for her being the centre of ians attention i think this motive fits better for me, denise has had some messed up storylines where that poor woman had to suffer numerous times by the hands of ex husbands and being let down by each and everyone she met

she seemed to be getting quite bitter before her break up with ian and seemed to be getting to breaking point where she got upset in oxford infront of libby

I wonder why Jane would be acting like she is covering for someone and making false alibis if it really was Denise.Man this is doing my head in lol what a story of twists and turns! You know when Denise dug up the phone and Ben tried to get it back by sending Jay into Trumans house, how did Ben know she had it again? Then Denise gave it to Ian and Jane has stopped ian giving it to the Police even tho it would prob solve/help the crime hmmm

maybe as someone already said Denise and Jane are both connected

why so hesitant to take their findings to the police why keep it there whoever the murderer is would of left messages or missed calls etc ... usually they can piece together the last details of time spent alive

so Jane may be somewhat involved as Denise bring her the phone and wallet knowing that she would know what to do with them im sure whoever is responsible would of erased all connection to lucy in texts and call logs to cover their tracks

for such a slacky murder its all confusing and full of ideas on why and who killed her.. roll on flashback episodes

I think les and pam are only suspects as the flashback will perhaps involve them by showing what they were really up to that night (regarding their son)

I'm hoping we get to see all the suspects and what they were really doing

As the article mentions other plots explored and twists in old stories. I'm half expecting a twist in Ronnie/charlie too.

Also, what's the betting that once the Lucy story has concluded we'll get a shock grant announcement? I can't think of a better way to bring the show back up after the end of the Lucy story. Even if it's to help bring nick down. I wouldn't put it past dtc. I am amazed at the secrets that are.Being kept in the show.

Also, Andrew sachs part of the reveal? Taxi driver maybe?

maybe we should set up different threads for each suspect, so we can dissect each theory, without it all being jumbled up?
Just livin' in perfect New Zealand!

Personally I think it's best to leave all our theories on here so people don't have to go into 12/13 different threads to keep up with the speculation :)

I still honestly have no idea who did it, how or why. Brilliant storytelling. I only hope once the truth is revealed we can go back through this thread to see what we picked up on- and what we missed.

I quite like the idea of the reveal being done in the flashback episode; much like Thursday's episode, where we were left guessing until the very end.

This is going to be landmark television.

The flashback episode is some of the best news the show has ever announced. I cannot wait! I need to know exactly how the whole night pieces together. Who really was where? And how and why did Lucy meet her end?
