Who Killed Lucy?; All the theories

Didn't Jane say to lauren in the kitchen that as the best friend of lauren's mum she hoped lauren would feel able to open up to her and come to her for support?

If so, who else is the daughter of her best friend? Abi. I could see Max talking her into helping, dressing it up as helping protect ian and Tanya in the process.

Otherwise, Jane was there the day the drugs were found because Denise was in Oxford. Could Jane have tried meddling in lucy's life like she did after Peter and Ian fought? Only this time it all went very wrong? Could her insistence on keeping the family together now, reuniting Peter and Ian, moving back in with bobby, babysitting beth so often, all be part of her trying to make amends and hold the family together so she doesn't feel like she's responsible for its implosion?

Could Emma's death be a clue to Lucy's "murder" in itself? Perhaps someone did accidentally push her or run her over with a car without realising but then someone else finished her off with the actual intent to murder? Maybe the person who went to Emma was the person who thought they did it but in fact it was someone else.

I'm probably reading too much into things now, but what about when Lee drunkenly confessed to Mick that he'd "done something stupid" regarding Lucy. I know when he was sober he said it was that he lied to the police about seeing her, but could that have been a cover up? Maybe the "stupid thing" was something else entirely.

The day after Lucy's death, Ian was at the restaurant, he didn't want to open up without her.

If he killed her, he must have known she wasn't going to turn up.

Just watch the 1st min, guess who was at the window?

Suspicious...

I think seperate people, independent of one another, murdered Lucy and then moved her body.

Character 1 - killed her in a rage and ran off.

Character 2 - discovered Lucy's dead body. Or Lucy, like Emma, regained consciousness for a small amount of time, and found character 2 herself and then died. Thinking they were somehow responsible or going to be held accountable, character 2 then moved Lucy's body to the common.

Character 1 returns to the scene of the crime. Because her body is no longer there, they think she must have survived their attack and it's all going to be ok.

That scenario would leave character 1 (Peter, Ian?) secretly responsible for Lucy's death but under the mistaken belief that they did not kill her. While character 2 would be more inclined to think of themselves as the murderer.

I definitely think that Emma's death was, in some way, reflective of Lucy's death.

My mum has an interesting theory. What if it was Jane, but she is blaming Ian so people will protect her. After all he has mental health problems

Ok tonight Imma try to find things to support the Ian theory. I don’t believe its Ian but best try fitting things into place. From the beginning... From watching the episode North Korea’s posted the episode after good Friday- Pause the vid at 11.10. Ian starts to explain why he didn’t come to Oxford, but for some reason can’t manage to get the sentence out. Then he clutches his head in pain as though he’s in danger of having a relapse. After this he says “I’m fine...I’m fine...I just let it build up don’t I?” coincidence?
Episode when Lucy’s phone is unearthed quite literally. When Ian is alone he throws up. A reflex of some sort? Episode when Ian finds out Peter has been dealing Lucy drugs. His words at the end are interesting. “As far as I’m concerned you and Lucy both died that night”. Peter is Lucy’s other half, his twin. Perhaps it’s hard for Ian to be around Peter and it’s been interpreted in a way that we believe this means Ian loved Lucy more than him. Cindy’s comment that it feels like Lucy’s still in the house relating to Peter? Like when Ian calls Lucy four times the next day and Peter one time. We assume it’s favouritism, but perhaps after being in denial about it he is in a state of shock that his daughter is dead so he is doing what any father would do which is try to reach her.
Different episode. Peter is on cocaine on his birthday and all our attention is focused on his own strange behaviour so were wonder if Peter could’ve murdered Lucy. Consequently people are then paying very little attention to Ian in this scene. Ian ignores Peter’s shouts and taunts that he’s a coward for not speaking to him. Ian shuts down completely not wishing to talk to peter and then proceeds to do some really strange forward and backward rocking on the stairs in a fetal position. So if you were looking through the eyes of a murderer right now, I’d suggest that this could be a lucid moment where his subconscious is berating him for being someone that is - and was- blind to the danger his daughter was in. Ian’s always been blind about his children to a point where it’s no longer something abstract that anyone can simply push aside or bury with drugs. Just this once he’s taken one of his overly ambitious ideas too far, and ironically it’s resulted in his own blood’s demise. Also Ian would feel like a coward if he had a lucid moment because he was allowing Jake to go down for something he knew he had done deep down.
One episode along maybe? Jane asks Peter to be the bigger person and mend things with Ian instead of the other way round. So Peter apologises for state he was in the night before. He then asks Ian an interesting question. He asks if they could rewind to that night and if it had to be either him or Lucy, who would it be. Of course any parent would say neither; however Ian looks away from peter and doesn’t wish to answer the question. But If you felt that way deep down why couldn’t you just lie about it? The way Peter phrased that question really penetrated through Ian’s armour. If it was indeed Ian who killed Lucy, then from Ian’s perspective peter’s essentially saying “if you had to kill either me or Lucy, who would you choose?”
Ian’s restaurant has not been featured much of late which tends to imply that they don’t want to alert the audience that Lucy may have been killed there. I need to check the map out but if Lucy came back to Walford she might have gone there looking for Ian, not noticed by the residents, maybe she found him and Raine at the restaurant. This was the last straw for Lucy after their argument? Ian told Raine to leave and then it kicked off between them. The restaurant was heavily featured the next day. It’s a hazardous place so she could have easily knocked her head on something if Ian had shoved her. Ian’s comment in the story so far trailer was that “last night never happened” which in separate context could be a clue Ian had blocked out killing Lucy. Then as many people have said, Jane is covering up for Ian, and Ben who perhaps was taking refuge in Ian’s diner then helped move Lucy to the common. Again pure speculation & would be sad if it were true. peace all.

How about this for a twist. On Thursday Jane reveals Ian did it. Explains all of our theory, mental health, doesn't remember it, protecting him from his memory etc. Then on the flashback, you see Jane did it and she's using Ian because people will protect him.

She's not keen on police involvement as she doesn't want herself under suspicion and she doesn't want people to realise what she's done, hence hiding the phone to hinder the investigation.

Phil Ben and jay think it was Ian, they frame nick, Jane gets away with no one knowing it was her and believing it was Ian, whom they are all protecting.

Oh no this further points towards Abi.

She was the Weeping Angel "monster" when she tried to scare Lauren.

Please don't let this be true.

Yep, Max made a move on Jane, when she was there the first time, smugly telling the Beale kids that she was out of their dynamic and to refer all problems to Denise.

Then she made a point of visiting Max, who made a pass, and she lecture him about the big, fat wallet latest mug Tanya's acquired, calling him a keeper.

Spare me. She turned Max down.

Like Tanya, Jane's always been a bitch - a subtle bitch, to be sure, but a bitch all the same. The only reason she's taking an interest in Lauren is because of Lauren's association with Peter and the alibi Lauren, who's not the brightest lightbulb in the pack, will provide for her. A little bit of emotional blackmail goes a long way for our Jane.

One other thing about Jake being accused, and this reminds me of Heather's death.

After Andrew Cotton, the next suspect in Heather's killing was Billy Mitchell. He is Phil's cousin, yet both Phil and Ben would quite happily have seen Billy carted off to prison and convicted of a crime he didn't commit if it meant that Ben remained free.

When Jake was arrested, and Lauren began to have doubts about his guilt, when Phil and Sharon began to think he was innocent, Ian (and Peter) didn't want to know. They were quite happy for Jake to remain on remand.

The family's reluctance to provide the police with any evidence that they've found is bizarre, especially the Christmas gift.
