Perhaps shabnams secret involves someone back home. Something political perhaps. Someone being tried for something they didn't do? Maybe she has compensation money for something that resulted in someone in prison? If it's in a newspaper it has to be big.

Wonder what this is about
http://www.closeronline.co.uk/2015/01/eastenders-spoilers-shabnam-to-reveal-shocking-life-and-death-secret#.VK3ImXlyYdU
So cast/ backstage have found out the secret and are shocked, but it can't have anything to do with Lucy.
I'm still curious why we haven't heard more about the Whitney's note.
Also haven't they now returned from their break, ergo they have now been informed on some plot points.
ohh and seems we were right about the cross word clues. But I still think the "Lee" one is a red herring.
The "stop it" one strong cause its ambiguous in linking to Lola.

That was my first thought too... the crossword's been analysed continuously both here and on DS since the CIN ep aired.

"Something we all missed", my arse. The article's author presumes everyone else is as slow as (s)he is! :D

True comments. Because even though we’re the only members on here at the moment it’s strange to think of the number of non-members reading & watching this thread. It can only increase up till Feb.

The writers have clearly been counting on the public to make their own assumptions about people. The behaviour Abi displayed on Halloween came after people decided that they wouldn’t put it past her but not before. Then Jane wasn’t suspicious at all at first until that “leak” happened, now she’s turned into the shiftiest suspect of the lot.

They emphasise the possibility of that person’s likelihood and then cut the guillotine on that character completely – subverting us onto the next. I suspect they have an outline of what happens in each episode, but twig the dialog just slightly so something someone says is a bit more or a bit less cryptic in light of the characters whose innocence we currently doubt.

The latest suspect put under the strobe light is Denise because of her abuse to Patrick though personally I think that seems ridiculous, It’s not her in nature to be a killer even after what her ex’s have put her through. And as Emma stated there was intent behind Lucy’s death. So she couldn’t have killed her by accidental.

And Sherlockwannabe & Fehnder, totally agree with you. Don’t think Shabham has anything to do with it. Hazarding a guess, reckon she travelled in the same circle of some extremist individuals and its coming back to her. Of recent Dominic Tread-well doesn’t really seem too concerned about controversial stories. Linda’s rape, Kate’s history of being molested is occurring this Thurs/Friday & the writers have been accused of echoing the Jimmy Saville case but they have denied it. Whatever the case, Eastenders is showing later than usual this week in topsey turvy scheduling and going past any watershed constrictions. To do with Kat overall but perhaps we’ll witness something darker conspire in Lucy Beal’s story.

I keep contradicting my theories and then rethinking new ones

after watching her fall at the car lot I don't think that plays a part in her death. They added that in to make us feel it was something to do with that and to put us off the scent of the real killer by having us rethink what may have happened there was related to her death.

seeing the CCTV footage and the fact that no one who last saw her mentioned anything of her acting oddly but if you look back on footage of her on the bus it seems shes clearly upset by something as if she had been crying....

what on earth was she crying bout?

not only that she looked behind her before getting off at the common as if she was looking in jay's direction as to where he sat on the bus why didn't she wait for him or talk to him ? when you out and about and you recognise someone you always greet them to acknowledge them[edit_reason]left out some bits[/edit_reason]

There were only five minutes or so from her being in the lounge with Ian to being on the bus (and this includes her brief altercation with Max and shouting for Peter). We know that for sure because she left her house at almost exactly eight and was running for the bus at 8.05.

However, the timeline is incredibly confusing for that night. When she stands by her wall and looks up to the house before hesitating and leaving, way more time seems to have elapsed than around five minutes. But we can be sure it didn't.

Then there's the argument with Billy. She wouldn't have had time to argue with him on the way to the bus so we assume this was after she returned with Jake. But if she returned to argue with Billy how did Lee Carter come to see her? (She was coming from the wrong direction for him to follow her).

But to answer your question everything suggests she was still upset about Ian, Peter and Max when she caught the bus.

Didn't Lee see her near Jake's house and then follow her down Bridge St to where she met Billy?

Or someone had confiscated it before he took the bags...

We also saw little miss perfect Lauren getting suspicious of Max too.

Surely it's too obvious to be Abi now. I suspect she and Max are covering for each other, with one of them thinking they're the killer. I suspect one will confess- and the real killer will step forward.

Max and Abi are definitely covering up something, but what I dont know.

As much as they are being pushed down our throats as the latest suspect, I think it is someone who has not been "the hot fav of the day" as yet

I dont think we are closer to finding anything definite now than what we were the day after it happened.

The motif of the rubbish was used in today's episode with Lauren interacting with it. Obviously Max must have put it out there.

So where does that fall in line with the theory of the 'There's A Killer Amongst Them' trailer?

I'm almost certain the killer is Whitney now.

Three close outsiders: Denise, Jane or Lee.

Denise - floorboards (Jane)
Max - rubbish bag (Lauren)
Lauren - blood (Max)
Peter - digging at the allotment (Denise)
Ian - white powder (sugar/coke) (Peter)

Which leaves:
Jane - car/broken glass (Ian?)
