Going back to the original announcement and the quotes about "it's more What Killed Lucy?'" and "the killer doesn't necessarily know they did it", I think Jake, Abi and/or Denise may have been partly responsible too. I'm clutching at straws.
DS are running with an article about it, so its more or less confirmed.

What did kill Lucy?

A child who was fed up with his sister enough to bash her head in?

The song delliah still fits through. Bobby could take it anymore so he killed her quoting the poem he read at the wedding.

Feeling so disappointed with this ending it's unreal. Particularly because it's a different Bobby than who was actually on the show last Easter time! Absolute shit- lost faith in DTC now

There's so much wrong with this outcome. So much.

I need to sleep. I feel so lost.

I feel for you. I just want to hug everybody. I feel like we've all experienced a death. I'm grieving.

I'm actually torn about my future of watching the show. I'm trying to remind myself of all the greatness we've seen, and the show's return to form. All I can focus on however is how tonight it has all come crashing down.

The writers took us on a brilliant journey, telling an intriguing story about grief and secrets, rooted in truth. Then they stuck two fingers up at us and made the reveal as sensationalist as possible.

It feels like a bad joke. Bobby Beale killed Lucy. Not just killed. Murdered. It's a bad dream.

It's not even the same Bobby. After ten months, they say Lucy was killed by an eleven year old. After ten months, and unprecedented excitement at the idea of a flashback episode, we didn't even see Lucy die. Probably because they knew how laughable it would be to have Lucy murdered by a child.

We didn't even see her die. After all this time.

I may sound dramatic but something about my feelings for Eastenders has changed in the last 90 minutes. I feel stupid, betrayed, cheated and hopelessly disappointed.

I never expected to be left feeling like this.

WalfordE20... "I may sound dramatic but something about my feelings for Eastenders has changed in the last 90 minutes. I feel stupid, betrayed, cheated and hopelessly disappointed." I think you capture everyone's feelings there! Or atleast almost everyone

Looks like the great theories you came up with can be sent to EE so they can read what drama actually looks like... :)

So Bobby didn't kill her accidentally? He MURDERED her?

Well we can't blame Cindy I for how Steven turned out, it must be something Ian did as he raised the both of them.

I assume she was bludgeoned with the jewelry box?

Don't be angry. Watch the interview first and watch tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. Remember we have other storylines as well.

You can say that all you want, but some people still are gonna be angry over this. I wanna know how the hell he was able to hit her with the jewelry box.

I've hit my Dad over the head with a slipper before. I imagine it's the same principal.

Personally thought it was a great ending and lets not judge until we see tomorrows live episode. Bobby made sense when you looked at the clues and facts, a few people speculated and I thought it was him.

We don't know how the story will progress from here, maybe Bobby didn't know he even killed her, maybe Jane takes Bobby to bed and Max moves the body thinking Abi did it, we just have to see what happens from here. We don't even know if an altercation happened between Lucy & Bobby, Lucy could have attacked him, Lucy's injuries are also from Max, Abi, Jake etc so Bobby may not even have 'killed' her so to speak but even a slap could have taken her out.

Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Okay. I've slept on it.

I still don't think I like it. Being a child Bobby was very rarely seen so I find it hard to care about him as a character. I think I need to see tonight's episode to make up my mind, because I still need answers.

My main upset is that after all the hype about us finally 'seeing' what happened to Lucy that night, they robbed us of the two most important scenes: Lucy dying and her body being dumped. They promised answers, but I still have many questions.

In terms of continuity with the original episode I think they did very well with the flashback. If I can I'm going to edit them together to watch as a complete piece.

I do have one issue with the timeline. I thought Jake was exonerated because Lee seeing Lucy proved she was still alive after taking Jake home. Last night she saw Billy before even leaving the Square. Also, Denise originally arrived home as Lucy first left the Square, but we didn't see her enter the house until Lucy had argued with Billy.

Anyway. Back to the story. My initial reaction is one of hurt and disappointment, but if Bobby genuinely doesn't know what he's done there's still potential for a good story. It's like someone else said, the story was adult but the reveal was childish.

Reading through some of the positive reactions has helped, but I still need a lot of convincing. At the moment I'm just not feeling excited for tonight's episode.

To be honest, I am also quite pissed that we didn't see the actually killing. Such a shame it won't happen tomorrow. I wanna know if Bobby and Lucy argued and he lashed out or he just snuck up behind her with it.

Guess I won't get my wish.

Just watched the link someone has posted somewhere on here, to a party or something afterwards, there is a reporter talking to DTC and a blonde woman.
I am picking up they decided 18 months ago when they plotted this story it was going to be Bobby, but it sounds like they kept Cindy as a back up, weather that was because they knew they had to recast Bobby and werent sure if they could get someone to pull it off or what I dont know, but I dont think it was a cut and dried as they are making out.
Just livin' in perfect New Zealand!

Perhaps we didn't see the killing / Lucy actually dying because they will resurrect her character one day. "Oh, she wasn't really murdered. She just went into a coma for witness protection sake." Stranger things have happened (multiple times now as far as the supposedly gritty and realistic EastEnders is concerned).

Maybe read the interview. Find out more about Kevin. Will you still watch the show?
