Linda will guess via her tea leaves that Bobby killed Lucy.

Silly me. Sorry. Completely understandable. I'm surprised that Mick or Linda didn't nick a few duff duffs off Ian and Jane during live week, we might have thought it was a storyline about the Beale's but in fact it was actually about the Carter's.. Like everything else is these days! :P
You're not the only one. I actually Googled earlier because the jokey article sounded like it could be true!

Speaking of duff duffs, while I felt Monday's duff duff weak, I was pleased with it in another way because I felt it was about time that Roxy got some.

How will Jane react when the police arrest the wrong person?
I think Jane will be relieved more then anything. I think Ian and Cindy will struggle with the guilt more then she will. She will also be happy that the spotlight will be on the person they arrest rather then her beloved Bobby.

If it's Max, then Jane will ceaselessly remind Ian that Max was having sex with Lucy, and he'd be the first person they would suspect. There's then the problem of Lauren, who's with Peter, and who has the Cindy-gened grandchild. Ian and Cindy will both be conflicted, especially Cindy, as she's friends with Liam, who is not only Ian's great-nephew but also Max's.

Jane won't give a rat's arse. It takes the pressure off all of them ... until Lauren returns.

I'd guess either Jake or Raine returns, Raine seems more likely with whats happening with Cora.

Also I must laugh at his comments about past summers, this one hasnt been that good so far.

"old faces returning" is intriguing. I guess Lauren will be one - after Max is arrested - as she knows the truth about Bobby. And maybe Jake. Don't think Tanya will be back. I hope Rainie comes back for another stint.

The trouble with storylines like this is that there is usually the merry go round of scenes where the character continually tries to go confess to the police before being talked out of it in a full blown argument outside the police station which hundreds of coppers walking by ignore. And then theres the "Oh no! The police are at the door!" DUFF DUFF then the revelation that they're really not there for the killer. These are uninteresting to me in any storyline if they're over used.

But surely if Max is going to be framed for it then it makes those scenes even more uninteresting as we know Max will return at some point.

For us in the southern hemisphere HORRRRRAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!

Our winters (your summers) are a bit of a drag where EE is concerned. You lot rave over the winter, but its summer here and while I watch religiously, it is just not the same!
Just livin' in perfect New Zealand!

Old faces could mean DI Keeble and Cameron Bryant?

After Jake accidentally elbowed her, the shot of Lucy's blood falling on Max's shoes and her grabbing his shirt with her bloody hands can't be coincidental.

I don't see the point in being Jake. Yes, it would punish an innocent man but there would be no impact and there's massive impact if it's Max. Jane already let Jake be arrested and accused of murder and said nothing.

The Beale and the Branning families are so linked with Lauren and Peter and the upcoming birth of baby Beale/Branning and Tanya being Jane's best friend, added to Jake Wood taking a break this is the only sensible option.

I know he was incredibly drunk but perhaps something triggers Jake remembering that Max was there in the flat with them?

Aka my idol.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

I like it but I hope that doesn't mean we've lost DI Keeble. As a DCI, Marsden would be her boss and I'd love to see them together. Alison Newman is fantastic.

We need a Keeble/Marsden two-hander.

Followed by a Keeble/Marsden/Ritchie Scott three-hander.

And then we resurrect Emma and have a fou...okay too far. :ninja:

If it is Max, Lauren will know as her father contacts her. Since she knows he is innocent I don't believe for a minute she wouldn't return and issue an ultimatum. Lauren is not evil like that.
Your approval is neither desired nor required.

Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism".

Next week's spoilers point to Carol overhearing Ian and Cindy discussing the police. If the arrest is coming soon I'd hazard a guess at it being linked.

Marsden should come back as Detective Superintendent by now unless she has been held back for promotion due to the bungled Lisa murder inquiry, Phil's armed robbery set up and Bradley Branning's death in police pursuit.

Makes me wonder why she didn't come back for Lucy's murder inquiry unless they didn't want the same officer coming back for every single whodunnit which I would understand.

Cindy may feel very guilty living under Carol's roof knowing that Max didn't do it, considering Max and Carol are siblings. This may be part of the reason they have put Cindy under Carol's roof. This may encourage Ian to decide to keep Cindy close and get her to move back in.
