I'm starting to wonder if it could possibly be Carol who gets wrongfully arrested and this will build up to her exit? She has taken in Cindy and overhears a conversation with Ian & Cindy next week and also has an argument with Ian coming up.

We need a Keeble/Marsden two-hander.

Followed by a Keeble/Marsden/Ritchie Scott three-hander.

And then we resurrect Emma and have a fou...okay too far. :ninja:
They should have given them the spin-off.

That'd be a clever twist. Everyone thinks it'll be Max, but that would be a surprise.

That's a really good idea, never thought of it at all but it could work

Why would the police think Carol killed Lucy if Carol is arrested?

The police would be completely stupid to arrest Carol as they have no evidence whatsoever linking her to the crime. That would be sensational just for the sake of it.

Whoever gets arrested has to be irrelevant enough to Cindy for keep her mouth shut. Max means relatively nothing to her but Carol has been good to her. She'd never be able to detach herself and let her rot in jail or let Liam who she does care about (no matter how much she pretends she doesn't) believe his nan could murder someone.
Warning: Posts made by The Local Butcher may contain sarcasm, frustrated expressions of fatigue in the face of Eastenders' neverending insanity, desperate and ill-conceived attempts to be funny, controversial opinions and nuts. Not necessarily in that order.

Alison Newman (Keeble) tweeted that she worked today and met Bonnie Langford. Yay!

I absolutely believe it's now Ian who will be arrested. This could very well be what prompts Kathy to come out of hiding. Maybe she has an alibi for him-she could have been "trailing" him on that Good Friday night. Or maybe Gavin did and she needs to get him to step up for her son.

So we now go from "Who Killed Lucy?" to, "Who gets falsely arrested for Lucy's murder?"

Ian being down for the Duff Duff could just be his reaction to who it is that gets arrested, because he now knows that it wasn't them. Doesn't necessarily mean it is him that is being arrested.

Another reason why I don't think it's Ian. Kathy is coming home. If he is in Prison he will be missing all the drama and action come September.

I'm still pretty much on the Max bandwagon, although Marsden being back could suggest some Mitchell involvement...

They would never have Kathy return whilst Ian was in prison. Her return will be an explosion on the Square with all the Beales and Mitchells, especially Ian, at the eye of it.

It must be Max. And if it is Ian who gets arrested, he will be out before Kathy is back in Walford.

"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

Marsden returning makes me think it is going to be Ben.

Ian's in a script snippet with Cindy and Bobby at the end of July so it won't be a long period in custody.

The police believe Lucy was suffocated to death by Sonia's amazing tits, Sonia gets life in prison and Tina moves away from the Square to start her life over.

Dot hit her with the ham.

Imagine the twist, it wasn't Bobbys blow that killed her... She fell earlier in the day when she discovered who Lola's mum is.
