The quality's poor but it was the only clip I could find on YouTube that shows Lucy leaving the Square. She definitely wasn't wearing the pink coat. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W5rW3KmJeOw |

First, the earring ... Lucy's been to Jake's flat, the day he finished putting the website together for her. She could have lost the earring there. The blood ... Jake told Lauren he was drunk when he met Lucy, and that's when she sent him back to the Square, in an unlicenced taxi, so that can't be traced. In fact, Jake told Lauren he was virtually too drunk to remember anything other than that vague description of the taxi driver. Lucy could have been killed in Jake's kitchen and he could have not known anything about it. But then, if that were the case, why not leave her body there and let him cop the blame? This was a night when Aleks was out all night, with Roxy at Roxy's party and afterward. Roxy verified that to Lauren in the pub the other night. Someone knew Jake's flat was empty. |

I liked that theory, but can we rule it out due to the shirt Charlie was wearing at the beginning of tonight's episode? |

Tattoo could be across the nape of the neck. Doesn't David Beckham have one low across the nape? If that were so and he wore a teeshirt that night, it would be visible. Jake remembers the tattoo was the name of a woman. |

But why would he need to wear a scarf or a jacket with the collar folded up if the tattoo could be covered by a normal shirt? Unless he's just being more careful outside the house as the tattoo wouldn't mean anything to Dot anyway. |

The tattoo could be a blurred/combined memory of Jake's. He might remember a tattoo and something significant about a woman's name. . . Mrs Peel spotting the high collars and scarfs is excellent detective work and I agree with the conclusion of Mrs Peel's theory about the identity of the killer. I think all roads lead to a woman's name... In a way, I think the motives are more interesting for why the mystery cab driver (if it is Charlie or Nick) would a) give Jake a lift home and b) reveal a distinguishing feature. My own feeling in general is that Lucy was not a habitual cocaine user - we only have Cindy's word for that - and may have been more interested in the supply of drugs. This is a bit of a stretch and it's more likely she was meeting her dealer etc but the way she asked for the cocaine back from Ian didn't strike me as the plea of a user - more that she had a sample/evidence that she would use for her own advantage. Then she really would be going against whoever is supplying cocaine to Walford now and motive to take her out the picture. |

In the video clip released of the police questioning Jake they say there was blood on the skirting board which only they would notice. They don't consider if it was put there exactly for that reason... I doubt she was killed there. I also doubt Lucy was a habitual cocaine user which we only have Cindy's word/interpretation on. She wanted that cociane back and the reason may not have been to use it herself. It might be a sample/evidence she was taking to someone: perhaps to expose them or get in on the action - Lucy wasn't bad at raising money in the last few weeks... |

I wouldn't like it if Ben did it because I fear this would reopen the Ian and Phil feud which needs to be put to bed now. I wouldn't be opposed to Steven doing it though but I don't think it's him. It would be interesting if Lucy wasn't a habitual user but she did say to Ian that she took it to blot out the hurtful things he'd said. There was no sign of her being on coke though, she was never wired, hyperactive, paranoid or edgy and showed no effects of cocaine. Whoever has this tattoo on their neck will be an important player later on. That it was an unregistered taxi and Jake was barely able to tell up from down that night is going to have a huge impact especially as and when Jake's mind begins to sober up. Jake's mind sobering up may well tally with his life expectancy taking this story in a different direction. If he didn't know what happened to Lucy because he passed out somewhere else and she was killed in the kitchen, as Mrs Peel said, why not leave Lucy there? It would be so much simpler to fit Jake up than staging a mugging. Jake has a history of lecherous behaviour towards younger women, he arranged to meet what he thought was Lauren that night, for all anyone knows Jake was alone in the flat with Lucy and if she died there, all roads would lead to him. He is also an alcoholic so it would be quite easy for police to believe he killed her in a drunken argument after taking her back to the flat to come on to her. The tattooed man would not really be relevant in that case. Staging a mugging and shifting Lucy's body to the Common would be a much riskier strategy with much more chance of getting caught. My theory is either that Jake actually saw Lucy being killed when semi-conscious and was simply too drunk to remember at this moment in time. This means that whoever did it was there in his subconscious, putting him in danger and her body was moved by the killer or killers in order to confuse Jake which will have worked because I think Jake is genuinely very confused about the events of that night and actually doesn't remember Lucy being in his flat that night. Or Jake actually did wake up in the night to find Lucy dead and the intention was to leave her in the flat to set him up. Jake flew into a blind panic, knew he was screwed if he reported it with no living or traceable alibi and moved her body himself, setting it up to look like a mugging. He looked paranoid, guilty and terrified out of his skin the next day before her body was even discovered and it could also tie in with the statement that not even Lucy's killer knows all of what happened to her that night and is also wondering how she ended up on the Common. It would also account for Jake not having killed her (he didn't, I'm 100% sure of that), not remembering who and being confused as to what happened because he was drunk but still guilty of something. My monies on Nick. I think he's going to turn out to be our taxi driver and had to kill Lucy because she knew he was alive. |

I would say that's possible but improbable. Of course, Nick has killed in the past and could again but if Nick is in on some scam that involves faking his own death, at least to the point that he needs Dot to believe in it, the last place he'd want to go is Albert Square simply so he can drop Lucy and her drunk friend off and kill her there. He could have been recognised by anyone and the plan would be destroyed, that and leaving Jake alive, no matter how drunk he was, would be a big risk. If it was Nick, it would have been easier to kill Lucy and Jake (who was in no condition to defend himself or Lucy) there and then rather than take a massive risk, drive them both to Albert Square and then enter a flat to kill Lucy without any idea who was around. Nick tried to contact Dot twice before Charlie turned up suggesting that he wanted to speak to her about something but was told to leave Dot alone. My guess is that he has gathered that something was about to happen and that it might involve Dot giving Nick's previous involvement in drugs. He tried to warn her but gave up when he was told to go away and washed his hands of the whole thing. The phone call suggests that he is innocent in actively trying to scam Dot. Also, as Shirley pointed out, the scam is not about money as Dot doesn't have any. The "taxi" driver will become important, I have no doubt of that but I don't think it's Nick. I think the location Lucy was dumped is relevant to finding her killer. At first we were led to believe that Lucy went to the Common and never returned, but now we know she came back to Walford, presumably died there, and was then taken back to the Common. It has to be someone who knew where she'd been so as to put her where she was expected to be, either the mysterious taxi driver or somebody else. |

Also, the person or people involved may not have intended to kill her when she found Jake wandering about. If there was some kind of business deal that Jake interrupted, they might have got out of him that his flat was empty and dropped him and Lucy back there in order to finish it as Jake was too drunk to be of any problem. Back at the house, it got out of hand and Lucy was killed. Jake more than likely witnessed it but doesn't remember as he was blind drunk. Knowing that Jake saw her at the Common and might remember seeing her there, no matter how drunk he was, they moved her there so he would hopefully forget she was ever in the flat. Or they left her there and Jake woke up and moved her himself, knowing he'd be in a world of trouble. He may have completely panicked. |

Also, because ... it's always Ben. Tell you what I'm betting, since the PR blurbs say Ben's character is being taken in a new direction ... maybe Ben discovers who did kill Lucy. |

Lee's DNA will be found elsewhere, matched and then he's brought in for more questioning (I assume). |

Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold

Terry fits into this somewhere. He is the only Spraggan leaving and he leaves 3 months before Bianca does. Assuming this is how the time line will go I'd say - July - Jake is cleared when the Taxi driver is discovered and backs up his alibi. August/September time something happens which puts Terry in the frame. Terry quickly exits. Either by death or going on the run. Then at Christmas we know a curveball is coming. I wouldn't be surprised if this curveball is in fact evidence Lauren was the intended target. That takes the story in a whole new direction prior to the reveal. Stacey's key might be the clue after all. Edited by Walford East, 16 May 2014, 12:11.

Interesting clip of a suited but dishevelled looking Jake trying to get into Walford Common Flats, getting annoyed at the security camera and asking to be let in before half staggering, half falling in when someone opens the door. Edited by Dan, 16 May 2014, 20:36.
