Who Killed Lucy?; All the theories

I want it to be good, so for me ifit were either Ronnie or Ben it would be total crap. First of all because we know those characters have clear murdering tendencies, so it would be kind of predictable and meh. It has got be someone somewhat close to Lucy and who didn't kill before to make it good... Like Ian or Peter.

Personally I think it could be Abi, because they're bringing Peter&Lauren together again, and I'm guessing it could work well for a major fall out (which will quickly be forgotten anyway, like when Ben Killed Hev and Shirley forgave Phil for no reason).

Inside Soap: Abi’s not happy now that she’s been forced to accept that Jay is in love with Lola. But watch Abi closely. Gradually, as the week goes on, the idea that she might have killed Lucy Beale won’t seem quite so far-fetched…

That ties in with something Sharon Marshall said on This Morning today - we're about to see Abi become quite nasty apparently.

I'm so excited. Evil Abi has been bubbling just under the surface for years now....

I really like Abi, so will love seeing the dark side of her coming out. She has been treated like dirt for ages and like a soft touch, vileness is the norm in Walford so Abi will start to play people back at their own game!

I've got a feeling Max and Emma's fling will be revealed this week. Jay will probably take a parting shot at Max and give up his dirty little secret. Friday's spoilers say

Here's hoping the slimeball gets his comeuppance.

Oh I wish she'd just go to uni and become a vet like she's wanted to for the last 8 years. She hasn't got Jay to hold her back now and Lorna can't handle 'Evil Abi'. If Abi killed Lucy the whole storyline will be a joke.

Comeuppance for what though? He hasn't really done anything that warrants one in recent times.

Some very suspicious little nuggets in tonight's episodes. After the 'we've all done things we regret line', we saw flashes of numerous characters we know to have made mistakes- and glimpses of Abi and Peter. What exactly do they regret? That coupled with Peter rushing out to phone Emma... very interesting indeed.

Just when it needed to, this story is slowly gaining momentum again. It's been quiet at times, but the writers certainly aren't making this up as they go along and their planning is really showing on-screen.

I think with Abi, it must be hard when she is a character who has a good attitude and is treated like a doormat or is ignored by some people just because she has ambitions. I'm not surprised that feelings of resentment have built up towards how she is treated on the square and some characters will feel the consequences I reckon as they have underestimated her.

Dark Ronnie was shelved so we now have Dark Abi... don't think it'll have quite the same effect.

As for Abi, the red dress might be a clue. Red is the traditional colour of a killer. At the same time it could also be just symbolic, or a herring.
I said the same a few pages back. M. Night Shyamalan is fond of using red as a clue to killers/killings - such as the Munchausen's by proxy Mum in the 6th sense, who wore a red dress at the funeral and stuck out in the sea of black. Abi being nearly dead centre wearing red was a massive clue to me - she's pretty much the focal point of that group shot.

The abuse Abi gets for trying to defend her relationship with Jay is ridiculous. I look forward to her dishing out some bad attitude to people.

Don't make her the killer though. She's future landlady of The Queen Vic.

I don't know about that, but I definitely disagree with the apparent consensus that Abi is crap. Yes, she is whiny and emotionally immature and self-centred, but she is also ambitious and clever and ultimately a good person. IMO Lorna imbues Abi with a lot of character, and her personality is a very recognisable one. We all know people like Abi. She's one of those characters that I find myself laughing at in little moments, because she's just said or done something that is SO Abi, which, as a measure of the success of the character, is comparable to someone like Linda.

I hope she stays for years to come. She annoys me, most definitely, but that's part of her very well-defined character.

Yes, Max is a sleaze but to be fair, Emma is the stupid one here who is rightly going to take a lot of flak. She has apparently worked hard to build a career in the police force. She knows the consequences of having a sexual relationship with a suspect in a murder case, whose last sexual relationship was with the murdered woman. She is meant to be pursuing justice impartially in the case of a young woman's death, not getting emotionally involved with suspects which can twist her judgement. She is also the Family Liaison Officer to the Beale family and is sleeping with a guy they have had a public falling out with who is considered a suspect in the murder case of said family's daughter.

A lot of this is on Emma. She goes back to Max as well so it's not as if she is an innocent victim of Max's sleaziness. She has by far the most to lose out of this as I don't think Max killed Lucy.

As for Abi, my problem is twofold:

Lorna Fitzgerald is very similar to Natalie Cassidy for me. Once they got Natalie Cassidy past the "cute kid with a trumpet" stage, they found her woefully short in the acting stakes, she is now one of the show's weakest actors. When they got Lorna Fitzgerald past the "cute kid looking after random animals" stage, the same thing happened. The character having a dark side doesn't appeal to me as I don't think she could pull it off. She's hammy, stagey and continues acting as though she's in a child's nativity. It's unfortunate but I don't feel anything for the character.

Also, if Abi killed Lucy, she needs to have had help in moving and transporting the body because as far as I'm aware, she doesn't drive. Jay is the only realistic one and if he did help her, I think Abi would be using this by now as would Ben if he knew about it. It's possible that Ben is driving Jay further into the Mitchell family not just to circumvent Phil when it comes to Lexi but to protect the secrets they have from spilling outside which would mean Abi is not a party to it.

I want Abi to stay on the show for years. Take her away from the usual giggling and whining and she could be fantastic.
