Who Killed Lucy?; All the theories

So many great theories in here, yet I think we're all miles off. We're only at the tip of the iceberg; usually by the time the death takes place you can quickly establish who was where and why. At this stage we have but a scrap of the information that will be revealed to us, making our chances of guessing very slim. I love it.

Regarding the text, it's possible that it wasn't sent by who Lucy thought it was. She could have gone to meet Max only to be confronted by Lauren, or expected to see Peter and came face-to-face with Billy.

It's impossible to be Stacey as the Mirror would know with some research as she is in prison and even if she wasn't, Stacey is unlikely to kill again. Despite her many faults, she isn't a psychopath and doesn't take any pleasure in having killed Archie.

We probably won't find out the cause of death tonight unless it's blatantly obvious, namely there's a visible wound from either being shot, stabbed, strangled or an obvious head injury.

I just rewatched Christian and Syed's exit, and I didn't remember Lucy having that final goodbye moment with him. Watching that now was quite poignant. I'm glad he is back for the funeral.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

I can't believe no one has coined the term 'Easterenders' yet.

... #WalfordWillChangeForever is slightly more synonymous with the storyline. ;)

Bit off topic, but whenever I read the word Easter on twitter I keep reading Eastenders, and then realise that I'm obsessed with the show right now and that it has nothing to do with it haha. The death of Lucy really has brought some interest back into the show. I'm genuinely looking forward to and waiting for the next episode, rather than catching up later on when I feel like it. This storyline really is doing some good for the such, I'm really optimistic about it!

There is a picture of the body on here. Its a dark picture, so hard to make out details. Either the body has been placed or its bad acting.

It is just too pose-y for someone to have dumped a body. It has been arranged with care. So that indicates someone who cares about her.

I havent met Lee yet, so here is another wild guess.

Lucy is on drugs, tries to get Lee involved, Nancy twigs whats happening, confronts Lucy, and clonks her one. Lucy falls down dead. Nancy, horrified at what she has done calls Lee, who helps her dispose of the body.

Just livin' in perfect New Zealand!

I really, really can't see it.

If someone cared about her, they wouldn't hurt her to begin with never mind re-arranging her body. I don't think anybody has done that because they care about her, that would be incredibly bizarre.

I did think Jake but if he is leaving in the summer it will be before the revelation of the killer. Abi Branning or Lauren are my top 2 suspects.

Definitely won't be Jake but I did wonder if he discovered her body but didn't report it because he doesn't want the police on his back because he is clearly on cocaine.

He was obviously severely under the influence tonight but Ian was making him extra jittery and he looked destroyed when talking to him.

He is a red herring though in terms of the actual killing.

We saw Lucy's bag was there tonight but was her phone? Was that what was under her hand at the beginning? If it was there, it's presumably going to provide a lot of information about who she's been in contact with and what she got up to in her final days/hours/minutes.

Looking at the episode tonight, it didn't look as though someone had arranged her body. The camera angles and the fact that this was now in daytime, looked as though she'd fallen or the body had been dumped there.

Funny how your mind can change. I am beginning to lean ever so lightly away from Abi. I think she will be involved, I don't 100% think she'll be the killer.

I am actually going to put Jane and Ronnie in the frame a little bit for the simple reason that they will be absent for a lot of the year. The story can develop without having to worry about how either of them are or aren't acting.

I need to write down all of my thoughts... I'm considering giving up university just so I can sit at home puzzling it all out. It is a little strange to comprehend life in ten months time I must admit.

It is a storyline that will not be easily worked out.
My dad said today "it's obviously Jake" but too obvious.
I couldn't imagine who would want to kill Lucy. I don't really have my own theories as yet, maybe overtime they will begin to develop.

I will say that I loved tonights episode. As a viewer you're thinking how normal everything is. A bit like Friday, that eventual moment where Ian's life is about to be shattered to pieces. A family devastated, a community rocked and someone, amongst them, has a terrible secret.

I liked that we got one last day of "normality" in the Square. The day to day stuff, family strife, relationship on the rocks, all stuff Ian has gone through countless times before. Indeed, number 43 has been home to many parent vs child conflict. Pauline and Arthur with Mark's HIV, Michelle's teenage pregnancy and later Martin going off on the rails. Lou no doubt had many a harsh word with Pauline, Arthur, Kathy, Pete. Pauline Fowler knew the day Mark sped off into the night, that one day she may get a knock on the door to inform her son had been taken by HIV related illness. A heartbreaking goodbye as it was, she knew why he was going, even if she couldn't accept it.

Ian is expecting Lucy to walk through the door again. Peter is in the pub waiting for his twin sister to come through the door. In the restaurant, Cindy, Bobby and Jane await the twins arrival. Then, that awful moment just at the end, "we found the body of a young woman, who we believe to be your daughter" and life as we know it ends. Tomorrow a very different Walford, the Beale family changed forever. It was a great episode, just for the sheer normality, against the harrowing flashes of Lucy's dead body, the forensics team, the gruesome discovery by the little girl. In a way, this is an everyday type story. We hear awful stories of young girls, men, women, sometimes children who are taken or run off and never come back.

I can't wait for tomorrow's episode.

I think Ian's reaction tomorrow will be something that has to be seen to be believed. He's not the best parent [this is Walford after all] but he loves his kids more than all the money in the world and Lucy in his mind is still the little girl he raised alone in the wake of Cindy Snr fleeing with Peter and Steven and Cindy's following death.

This story is really about a man loosing one of most precious things he'll ever have, a child not some murder.

I love hearing casual viewers say things like "It's obviously Jake" or "I think Max definitely did it", when we know that it's far to obvious. Oh to be but a casual viewer and be even more shocked when it is revealed who killed Lucy.

He also told Ian he wanted a quiet one and to phone Bella. Almost like having a shock of seeing someones daughter dead. Perhaps if he's supplying drugs he thought he's killed her?

All I could think of today during the ep was that Lucy had been laying alone in that place all night. Absolutely awful.

The way the body was, I don't think shows a dumped body. She looks like she's fallen as her hands are down by her face (a human's natural instinct is to protect their face when fallen.) I suggest she's been struck either just before, or a while before and then fallen.

From the way her bag way flung her bag open I thought maybe she was trying to phone for help before collapsing or something of the sort. Her body was in a different position to what I thought when seeing it in the day light, looked more like she had collapsed or fell like that after being hit. Looking forward to tonight's episode.
