Why on earth would Emma tell the killer she knew it was them? She really is very dim. |

They're doing a contest! It's like Who Shot Mr Burns! http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a617483/eastenders-plans-who-killed-lucy-beale-anniversary-competition.html If you work out who killed Lucy Beale then you're in with a chance of winning a tour of Albert Square. I am already making a list of my friends who can all apply with a different name for this. |

Whitney, Abi and Jane come out of that looking the shiftiest. A nice little snippet of scenes to come as well which is nice. When you put everything together like that, you can see what a brilliant story it has been. Some may have felt that it's dragged out, but there is a significant difference between something being dragged out and just allowing something the time and space to breathe. And even though it's very plot heavy - it's still packed with character-led twists. Ian using a prostitute, Billy stealing fish, Ben being a bit of a bastard... even Peter and Abi showing different facets of their personality - it all works for their character. |

Ian has a history of kerb-crawling and paying for sex; Billy has stolen from all his employers; Ben acting like a bastard is well established. No character twists there, but the behaviour is realistic, not only to the plotline, but to the show as good continuity. |

I wondered it in the wrong way. I meant that Billy and Ian's actions were very true to their character but they managed to work them into the main plot as 'revelations' about that night. |

Watching the video back Denise's breakdown also looks a bit suspicious. Even when the suspect list is narrowed down I will still have trouble choosing a killer. It excites and frustrates me that we still don't know how or where she died. This is so different from your normal soap whodunnit where all questions but 'who' have been answered. It's not been perfect, but I think the story deserves far more credit than it's been getting. Thinking about it, was Cora's call to the police ever followed up? And will they ever find Lucy's blood at the car lot? |

The characterisation has been generally excellent, however, the plot has been poor and full of holes. This is mostly to do with Walford police. |
![]() Walford is about to change, lives are about to be destroyed, alliances will begin and the residents will never be the same again. Welcome to "Dungeon". New fan fic, coming soon... Thanks Nick M for the brilliant sig! | |

I've been thinking about this, especially in connection with the cryptic phonecall made by Summerhayes, the one, apparently, to the killer, as she addresses the person directly. Someone else wondered why, when Summerhayes makes the discovery, she appears to ring the killer directily instead of phoning her colleagues ... I know YOU killed Lucy ... She's obviously got the killer's telephone number. Thinking along those lines, she'd most probably have the numbers of Ian and Peter, being Lucy's adult next-of-kins. She'd have Max's number, as she's living with him, and also the numbers of Abi and Lauren. Summerhayes is a ditz. She bought Charlies Swiss-cheese-ridden story about being Special Ops, and she neglected to act like a policeman and do Abi for driving without a licence, under the influence and for running over a dog. She neglected to arrest Peter for questioning when it was publically revealed he'd supplied Lucy with cocaine. Yet, she's still enough of a cop to realise that, in an important discovery like this, her first action should be to notify her superiors/colleagues dealing with the case - i.e., Keeble or Bryant ... unless ... (and here's the thought) ... unless ... Lucy's killer were a policeman. We know that Bryant went a bit rogue and started tailing and photographing Lauren and Peter. Many people have wondered if Lucy's death were an accident, and Lauren told Peter that, no matter how much he wanted to control his sister's addiction, an addict would always find a way to feed her addiction. Perhaps Lucy had a rendezvous with a dealer that night, someone who may have been being watched by Bryant. Perhaps he confronted the dealer and Lucy got involved and was accidentally killed in the melee. Perhaps then the policeman, Bryant, decided to stage her body to make it appear as though she'd been mugged and moved this to the Common. Police look after their own, so perhaps Keeble is covering for Bryant and they're looking for a suitable patsy on whom to pin the blame for the death. Just thinking. |

I think Emma might be correct but we won't see who she's talking to, it will just cut to the Beales and Brannings halfway through her phone call to establish that none of them are talking to her. Then obviously she'll have the car crash and be in a coma until the reveal. |

I thought that too, but I had subtitles on last night on IPlayer when I watched "The Story So Far," and the subs clearly said YOU. I agree, if the word were WHO, I'd say she may have been phoning her employers. |

If it is a Branning, it cannot be Lauren as Jacquline Jossa has gone on Maternity leave today, meaning she can't be part of the live segments for anniversary week. Jacqueline Jossa @jacquelineMjos 31s31 seconds ago Thankyou so much @bbceastenders @dominictc it's been emotional 😿❤️ Edited by eastend90, 19 Dec 2014, 15:59.

I for one will be entering. I don't have a bucket list yet but if I did 'walking on Albert Square' would definitely be on it. I think when it opens I will be rewatching that video and looking carefully at the clues! Aren't we having that curveball in tonight's episode?? Edited by danny1987, 19 Dec 2014, 17:01.

I was so sure she had said "who" so this is a big surprise! I can't see her phoning up someone like Fats or Ronnie..... with the tone of her voice and how she said it.... she would just go to her superior and turn them in. It's as if she knows the person quite well then, and wants to confront them personally before turning them in. which narrows down the choices quite dramatically. Having said that, she is not the sharpest knife in the drawer so who knows! lol.... |

It sounds very final, but that is extremely wishful thinking on my part. Come on DTC give me the best christmas present ever and tell us that Jac Jossa is gone for good. |
