Who Killed Lucy?; All the theories

Very interesting theories. If it is Lola, it would make sense that we haven't seen her a lot this year. Could Abi know about Jay's involvement and she was involved with cleaning something, as she was buying cleaning products the episode after?

So what I can remember about her movements:

We saw her walking round the square
we saw her on a bus
we saw Jay on a bus
we know she caught a taxi with Jake
we saw Jay in the squre, fooling about with a phone
we saw Lauren walking to Lucys door
Jane says saw Lauren walking to Lucys door
we know Lucy had a message to meet someone

missed anything out?
Just livin' in perfect New Zealand!

When Emma phoned the killer she said, ‘I’m glad I caught you’.

Meaning it wasn't someone who she was just in the The Vic with, but someone who she isn't sure where they are or if they'll answer the phone.
What Emma actually said was, "I'm glad I managed to get hold of you." Which means she still could have been talking to someone that she had left an hour or so earlier in the Vic.

Earlier in the episode, Emma does say 'I'm glad I caught you'... to Jane. It could have been a hint.

I'm beyond excited for tonight's episode. I think once it's aired we'll have a much better idea as to who really killed Lucy...

Is it strange that Emma said that line "I'm glad I've got hold of you"?. I thought it was a really weird thing to say to someone who you have just found out is a killer.

I expect Aleks, the dodgy market inspector to be one of the 11 suspects.

What we do know so far is that he has a tasty little violent streak, he had a little interest in Lucy while she was alive and she had been in his flat before doing work for Jake Stone.

If you remember that Jake was originally arrested for murder however later released as there was little evidence against him and his story that he was so trollied the night Lucy died he couldn't have done it seems to stand up, even if he couldn't.

Aleks, on the other hand, is used to keeping things under wraps (like his secret wife) and knows how to throw his weight around on the square.

Plus he's Latvian so if the EastEnders writers fancied going a little UKIP, he's their man.

Crazy.

Although, honestly, I'll be pretty sad when this story is over. Who Killed Lucy has been a massive part of my TV viewing life - and life in general too! - for nine months now. It'll be a shock to the system when it's all over.

Still, looking to the future, I'm really excited to see where the show goes following the conclusion of this mammoth story :)
Massive thanks to NickM for this wonderful signature! :)

Aleks Shirovs has been my number 1 suspect from the start,

My 5 suspects...

1) Aleks Shirovs - Always there at the right times, for a back story character he has appeared a damn lot of times throughout this year. Fits Broadchurch style, suspicious talk with Jake, Roxy covering for him (which i think we will all will see tonight when he becomes a suspect), i could go on and on but dont want to bore.

2+3) Lola/Billy - Could go either one (most likely Lola), same thoughts as most of this forum.

4) Jane - Weird things have been happening lately, keeping lucys phone/purse under the floor boards!, saying to Lauren i saw you through Masoods window, pity sex with Ian? and for this to be the outcome (Ian loving the woman who killed his beloved daughter) would be the most traumatic.

5) Charlie Cotton - Outside shot, everything could fit towards the end and is a one to watch.

On another note.. Abi has dominated the betting market and conversation in recent times which is laughable, not saying its not possible for her to kill and for the event to happen but it is impossible for her to hold it together especially saying "things die" etc, think its plausible for Abi to pop to the shops after killing Lucy?

Abi has been the biggest red herring so far this year.

Same as you Ross, however im a 23 year old male which makes it even sadder weeeeeeeee

This storyline is supposed to cause some sort of impact. The tagline is "Walford will never be the same." A new, solitary and underdeveloped character, one of an ethnic minority, kills one of the most important legacy characters in the programme? Wouldn't work. I know Roxy has form in covering up murders, but this isn't her sister the murderer we're talking about. Roxy has to live every day within the same breathing space as the Beales.

Aleks as a murderer would have no impact at all. I know he is dodgy, and there was lots of speculation of him dealing drugs when this storyline emerged, but he also has a young daughter.

[quotw]2+3) Lola/Billy - Could go either one (most likely Lola), same thoughts as most of this forum.[/quote]

Neither, despite Lola's nerves in the online police interview video. Billy is no killer. And they are Mitchells. The only killers in the Mitchell clan come from the psychopathic branch - Ronnie and Ben.

I would so love this to be Jane, and going on past form, EastEnders is heavily hinting at Jane and preparing the viewers for her departure - who can forget how unpleasant the show makes people who are about to leave (Pauline and Stacey, anyone?). The Beales as a unit are certainly all acting suspiciously. It almost seems that they don't want to find out who really killed Lucy because they are afraid of knowing. Ian and Peter were more than happy for an innocent Jake Stone to rot in prison rather than admit his innocence only until Phil pushed it.

I'm still suspicious of Charlie and/or Ronnie. Either would have a massive impact on the storyline and the programme, as well as the three established families on the Square - the Beales, the Mitchells and the Cottons.

BIGGEST red herring, nonetheless because I think the EP knows that this actress couldn't handle a live shoot.

Max, however, is a distinct possibility. Max was the one who implicated Jake Stone. He saw Lucy with Stone on that night, contradicting a statement that he'd made before - that he was at home all night. When he revealed what he'd seen, he said he'd left the house for five minutes to walk the dog.

I'd be very shocked if Abi was anymore than a red herring.

Max has done an awful lot of covering up from deleting cctv footage, burning laptops with David etc. Jane's behaviour recently is similar.

I wouldn't be surprised, as with Broadchurch, someone thinks they know who the killer is and is covering up for the wrong person.

Well I originally thought it was Aleks, then I thought Billy, but now both have been ruled out in one false swoop.

Got to be Abi, with Max covering for her. Why else would Emma be willing to keep the secret? With Max in charge and watching Emma's every move, he's got to be making sure she doesn't say anything.

Must be Abi. I'm utterly convinced.

Edit: But that still raises the questions of: the blood in the flat; the pictures under Billy's fridge; why Jane hid the purse; and a selection of false alibis.

Hmm. Not so sure now...
