As much as I like the character, Mick Carter is one of the biggest passive-aggressive bullies on the show, most of it manifested in the way he sidelined his wife for the past year to kowtow to a sister who believes his life partner to be little more than a tart and a liar, yet - for the most part - fans have ignored this behaviour, even when he openly threatened a woman police officer the other night. Had he done this to a Cameron Bryant or another male officer, Mick would have been nicked. |

I really hope Linda doesn't forgive Shirley as it would be completely ridiculous if she did. Things have escalated so far for a reconciliation too be feasibly possible and Mick should respect that. There is only one woman that has been there for Mick the majority of his life and her name isn't Shirley, which is why I found the events last year particularly odd in regards to Mick side-lining Linda in favour of Shirley. I would like to see Shirley/Linda reconcile. Linda, although on the receiving end, does seem to understand Shirley's stance and if it was Lee, she would probably do the same as Shirley. I don't think all is lost, I think this could be the catalyst for them to establish a better relationship. Now that Shirley is aware of the truth, I hope we aren't denied some scenes between the two. There is potential for some powerful material there and I think it is needed for the story to move forward. Denise has been vile to Linda recently and Stan still believes Dean yet apparently that is ok?

This has more than Dean's rape. Dean's story was the tacit excuse for Shirley to mouth her true feelings about Linda. She dislikes her; it's that simple. The story's got around Walford about an affair between Dean and Linda, Who spread that? I wonder. And, of course, Linda would defend her sons against rape allegations. She's a mother, who wouldn't? Pauline, Pat, Peggy, even Dot would lead the fray with bells and baseball bats if one of their boys were accused of rape, but this isn't just about that.
Really? Because if someone, especially a close relative of my husband, told me, in front of him and one of my children, that my kids hated me and wanted me to leave, I wouldn't go out of my way at anytime in the future to seek a friendship with a person who had said that.
Denise is an adult, capable of forming her own opinions. When has she been vile to Linda, except when she quit, which was only Tuesday? Stan is an old man. I daresay, there aren't enough people, collectively, at Denise's house to care for both Patrick and Stan. |

It is great to see James Payne back on what looks like a more permanent basis after the anniversary. Wonder if he could be writing some good stuff coming up for Stacey. If only Dominic could get Ms Phelps back as a regular writer after her episode in March. |

I wouldn't be jumping the gun on James Payne writing after the anniversary. He was at the Broadcast Awards last night because it was his episode last year which was nominated. |

James Payne was at the EE story conference this week so he must be involved after the anniversary. |
