As the other main stars of the week have already been mentioned I'd like to salute John Altman and Pauline McLynn for being an absolute joy to watch together this week.

I'd also like to salute DTC for reaching his 1 year milestone as producer this week! This year's not been to everyone's tastes but I think the majority of us agree it was a massive improvement on the year before.

Difficult choice this week that was filled with high-quality drama and very intense performances.
Still, my salute goes to Linda Henry and Linda Marlowe (brilliantly matched) who delivered a thrilling performance. The mother-daughter duel in the cafe is already a classic.

I agree. If I could only pick two it would go to Linda Marlowe and Linda Henry, the scene in the cafe between mother and daughter was mesmorising. Phenomenal. They are definitely brilliantly matched.

Definitely think DTC deserves this week's salute. This past year has been such a massive improvement on what we had been being served for the past few years. He's really given the show a new lease of life, whilst trying to stay true to the ethos of EastEnders. It's not perfect, but it's excellent.

Linda Henry and Linda Henry lit up the screen this week as well. Truly amazing.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

Linda Marlowe and Linda Henry were both superb - you instantly believed they were mother and daughter and saw how fearful Shirley was of her. Brilliant performances.

The supporting Danny Dyer has also come on leaps and bounds and has truly let go of his typecast "gangster" flick image - very good stuff from him this week.

Lastly I think Adam Woodyatt and June Brown were great in their exchange this week, which then ended up with a hilarious line I mentioned in the EP thread from Dot to Mick: "The only thing that would be full is those cells - full of us!" - Had a good chuckle over that.

Not sure you'll have the space in one tweet for this week's salutes Ennui!

So, it's that time of the week again.
I'm also sneaking in Daran Little...

*deep breath*

John Altman
June Brown
Danny Dyer
Toby Frow
Linda Henry
Daran Little
Pauline McLynn
Rebecca Scroggs
Adam Woodyatt

We salute you!

And although there is no competitive element to the salutes of the week I think it would be silly not to mention the special salutes separately:
Dominic Treadwell-Collins for his one year as EP
And finally, a welcome salute and a main salute (by a landslide vote) for Linda Marlowe.

Kellie Bright just for the look on her face when she realises that Stacey realises, Alison Newman (Marsden who?) and the increasinly underused Danielle Harold. Now she didn't do anything particularly special this week but she appears so little these days I might as well salute her when I can.
Warning: Posts made by The Local Butcher may contain sarcasm, frustrated expressions of fatigue in the face of Eastenders' neverending insanity, desperate and ill-conceived attempts to be funny, controversial opinions and nuts. Not necessarily in that order.

Jessie Wallace (finding out about Alfie and the fire and the police bucket incident) Linda Henry (for her comedic elf scenes and aftermath of Sylvie). John Altman, and Alison Newman (her portrayal of Keeble has been brilliant).

I enjoyed Lacey Turner, Kellie Bright and Linda Henry this week but my salute must go to Alison Newman for injecting Keeble with an awesome presence and subtle sadistic tendencies (make Emma suffer!!! 😉) and Jessie Wallace who gave a terrific performance, reminding us once again of Kat's resilience in the face of loss and desperation.

Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner for their scenes on Friday.

Alison Newman because I always wanted Keeble back and she's far exceeded my hopes.

Kat for ditching Alfie but it won't last long.

I'm curious about how this will work next week. Will there be a separate Salute of the Week for the Christmas episode?

P.S. And a salute for NevermindMe. Like asking for a hug, someone that asks for a salute probably needs one.
