Congrats to them :)

Now, I wonder who will have the salutes next week? That will be very interesting.

Ah! Just realised it's nearly past salute of the week time.

Lets say until lunch time tomorrow to put your salutes in. Remember writers/directors and anyone qualifies for a salute and that this was a bumper week that started before Christmas!

Sorry guys completely forgot. I'm usually the one who kicks the thread up the backside. It's just a weird week.

There were a lot of great performances this week but there was one performance that was head and shoulders above the rest. It's a well earned salute for Timothy West.

Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright were also great as Mick and Linda as they faced the most difficult time of their lives. They get a salute as well.
Warning: Posts made by The Local Butcher may contain sarcasm, frustrated expressions of fatigue in the face of Eastenders' neverending insanity, desperate and ill-conceived attempts to be funny, controversial opinions and nuts. Not necessarily in that order.

Kellie and Lacey for that brilliant scene on Monday. Danny for giving his best Othello and Timothy West for never faltering.

Linda, Mick and Stan. They all played blinders.

Also a salute to Tina (never thought I would say that) who has been great this week. Keep her away from Sonia and we may be on to something.

I've completely fallen in love with Aunt Babe recently. Annette plays her so theatrically, but I think it's so intriguing to watch. I really would love to see more of her.

So my less obvious salute would go to Annette.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

Pretty much the same as above. Special mention to Danny and Kellie for truly coming into their own and putting thier stamp permanently on the square with the Carter family. Excellent performances.

Please give your salutes of the week by Sunday evening.

This was a bumper week with lots of action. Just a quick recap:
Monday 29th -- Linda comes home with Elaine, goes round Sharon and Phil's, goes away again with Mick
Tuesday 30th -- Kim's back, "I know you killed Lucy"
Thursday 1st -- Pretty dull this one... :P
Friday 2nd -- Emma dies, Mrs Cotton looks shifty

Steve McFadden for reminding us what a good actor he is . I think we take him for granted sometimes because he has always been there but we had some really good episodes over the last few days and he really delivered . Also Rita Simons , Declan Bennett and Anna Acton .

Can't remember when we were last treated to such an exciting week of drama 🌹

My salute goes to James Payne for the memorable New Year episode, Anna Acton for bringing dignity to a rather silly character in her final hour and Rita Simons for a truly heart-breaking performance and reminding me of that special bond between Ronnie and Roxy.
