I'm really enjoying Aleks's involvement in this storyline. He's so badass he flipped a car over! I want some Phil and Aleks scenes when Phil gets out. |

It wasn't the most exciting week but I truly enjoyed seeing another, unexpected dimension explored in two male characters who became a lot more human and moving in my eyes. I was pleasantly surprised by a supportive/maternal Aleks and a grieving/vengeful Max so my salute goes to the very talented Jake Wood and Kristian Kiehling. |

Seconded. This week has seen Max finally become interesting after being stale for much of the last year or so, despite Jake Wood's incredible-ness. And Khristian Kiehling has been a revelation as Aleks, and I've loved his involvement this past week. Him and Roxy (Rita Simons also gets my salute for her continued brilliance) are one of my favourite things about this show at the moment. |

Spoilt for choice at the moment. Probably Declan Bennett this week for really putting in some excellent performances and really feeling like a solid member of the cast. And Letitia Dean for her continued excellence. |

It's time to think of salute of the week... Just to jog our collective memory: On Monday, Charlie went ape at Ben, on Tuesday Babe loved Stan, on Thursday Dot took Nick his fave picnic of tomatoes and cigarettes in the idyllic spot he killed Reg Cox, and on Friday, well, it was either like watching a piss-up as a designated driver, or enjoying a big piss up with all those cringing colleagues you didn't realise you'd have such a laugh with -- the episode discussion thread was definitely divided! Remember anyone from the cast and crew can be saluted. Thanks Edited by CivvyStreet, 17 Jan 2015, 07:33.

June Brown and Declan Bennett for continued excellence. Timothy West, always Timothy West. Linda Henry. Despite Shirley's behaviour this week, Linda Henry has been brilliant. And not forgetting Ian Stroughair as Velma Celli. Because just, wow. |

This week I'm going to salute one of the unsung heroes. David Tucker's direction on Monday and Tuesday was just exceptional. |
| Warning: Posts made by The Local Butcher may contain sarcasm, frustrated expressions of fatigue in the face of Eastenders' neverending insanity, desperate and ill-conceived attempts to be funny, controversial opinions and nuts. Not necessarily in that order. | |

Yep, Linda and Kellie for sure. Tish for becoming more and more of a camp force of nature every episode. And Maddy and Danny-Boy who really stepped up to the plate this week. And throw in Lauren Klee and Daran Little for their top notch writing too. |
