Aww, that was nice. Jessie and Shane do have a lot of chemistry and I think Kat and Alfie are meant to be.

It's funny how it appears they can remember a lot of their earlier scenes than the baby swap storyline in 2011. That storyline was an absolute mess.

I'd love to have seen more from Jessie and maybe some individual scenes like Alfie's arrival or more early scenes of the Slater family.

Although I have to say I enjoyed it.

So, who's next? And when?
Sam and Rita on Thursday!

You could tell that they found the whole baby saga and shagger Kat storyline a mess. I also can't believe Jessie was the last person to find out that Derek was the mystery man, it just goes to show that Kirkwood did not have a clue what he was doing.
See I thought Jessie was one of a handful of people who knew rather than the last.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a406220/eastenders-jessie-wallace-told-identity-of-kat-moons-secret-lover.html#~p2ALIgkz3mRjqC

' "The time felt right to finally tell Jessie," a show insider told the paper, after admitting that Wallace finally learnt her on-screen lover's identity last week.

"But she is still one of only a handful of people who knows the answer to the question on everyone's lips.

"[Show producer] Lorraine [Newman] was adamant this story was going to stay quiet for as long as possible. She has done everything in her power to let it play out on screen with total secrecy behind the scenes.

"It's created a real buzz as everyone's been trying to figure out who Kat's been bedding." '
I am certain Jessie did an interview where she said similar at the time. So I am very surprised by this last to know thing.

I 'last to know' not just a figure of speech though? She might not mean it literally.

Jamie Foreman certainly knew for the longest time. And perhaps Scott Maslen and Jake Wood knew it wasn't them.

More than possible I was always sure she was the 2nd in the cast to know but she might have meant something else. So many of us were certain it was Derek, big missed chance there to explore Harry then considering how controlling Derek was, spoke to her like a child and even resembled him. So desperate he died on xmas day we never got that chance shame. Couldn't stand Derek but I would have preferred more on their aftermath to be honest.

I've just watched it again and here's what I thought was missing: Kat's first scene, nothing with the Slater sisters, Charlie, Big Mo or Stacey, Alfie's first scene, Spencer and Nana Moon, the Remembrance Day episode, the dirty girl speech before their happy ever after, their 2010 return, most of the baby swap, Michael and the fire.

I liked it but I do agree it would have been better if it was longer. Instead it kind of felt like an assembly line.

I watched this and really enjoyed it. Kat and Alfie have so much chemistry as a couple because Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace do. You can tell they really enjoy each other's company.

I agree with Ender89 (a first) that the way they skirted over the babyswap and Shaggerman saga exemplified how little they thought of the plots, no matter how much Shane bigged them up at the time. I found it amazing that Jessie didn't realise until the end who Shaggerman was, when most of the viewers had guessed by default.

The other thing I noticed was that Kat and Alfie "happened" as a result of the chemistry between Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace in their first ever scene together. That was a great coincidence.

I'm looking forward to Barbara Windsor's and Pam St Clements's episode. I miss them both.

Jessie Wallace's catchphrase in this was "I didn't know that!"

Either Shane was spouting shit or Jessie needs to pay more attention. :D

They do look like great friends, It was striking how the Baby swap they couldn't remember.

I think Kat and Alfie could be great again, they still now show flashes its just they haven't really invested in the characters since the Kirkwood balls up.

I hope that Kats new story will deal with them getting back together as a subplot and it strengthens them. Then send them on holiday and do some episodes abroad!

Perhaps their memories of the baby swap seemed a bit vague because they obviously filmed more material and then some of it was cut or edited... so maybe Shane and Jessie weren't sure how much of it had made it to the screen.

Also, with Shane telling us about how they shot the airplane scenes out of sequence, which I guess happens all the time, I do think it must be hard sometimes for the actors to puzzle together their characters' stories...

It was good but I thought half the stuff that came out of Shane Ritchie's mouth was rubbish.

Really? I actually thought Shane was surprisingly down-to-Earth, not quite the showman but more the cheeky mate with some interesting anecdotes.

Oh my God, Sam and Rita's was absolutely hysterical. I'm going to watch it again straight away it was that funny - they bounce off of each other extraordinarily well. I love them cringing at their acting, Sam's tearing the baby swap to smithereens, Roxy berating the suddenness of the Alfie pairing and them talking about Scott Maslen in the live episode. Brilliant.

Just caught the Kat and Alfie one (it's on Sky On Demand - hating watching things through my laptop) and although I enjoyed it and loved the rapport between Shane and Jessie I do wish they hadn't spent quite so long on what can only be described as 'The Condom Debacle!' I too would have liked to have seen their very first scenes and I was also a bit upset that we never saw a clip from the Armistice episode with Alfie and Nana Moon - probably the most emotional I've ever been watching a soap, it was beautiful.

However they redeemed themselves by showing a clip of the Christmas Day wedding :yahoo: (<- I like this fella, when did he turn up?) A Christmas day EE that had a happy ending  Whatever next!

I really enjoyed the second one and thought the choice of clips was better than the first one. I never liked that episode with the ice though!

Surprised they didn't show a single scene with Archie, Peggy or Phil but it was good.

You can just tell Rita, Sam, Jessie and Shane didn't like baby swap. The ultimate "WTF has happened to this show?" moment.

I liked how Rita and Sam were a bit critical of the show at certain points too.

I loved that episode. You can tell that Rita and Sam have a great relationship. It was strange yet satisfying to hear Sam rip apart the baby swap storyline, and Rita saying how it was ridiculous that they wanted Roxy to be sympathetic when she had got with Alfie so soon.

The second episode was absolutely brilliant. It probably should have been one of the last ones because I can't imagine the Kim/Denise one or Massood/Tamwar one to be as good.
