Why is Laurie speaking in her fake English accent?

We have all seen Waterloo Road Laurie! You ain't foolin' anyone!
I think her bit was in the 25th version, so she hadn't been in Waterloo Road by then.
I'm pretty sure it was new. No?
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

I was interested to see how well the post-2010 clips held up against the old stuff... and I was pleasantly surprised that most of it worked quite well. The only stuff that looked out of place was Lauren with her dark hair, smooching Joey and being threatened by Derek. That's just dreadful in any guise. Heather's death, Lola giving birth, Lucy's death and all the Carter stuff fitted in nicely I thought.

They said at the start that they'd got their results from all 4987 episodes of EastEnders, so that's everything up until the last episode of 2014.

There must have been at least five characters tied for 100th place, but they only included two of them to make a list of 100.

Paul Trueman really is the best character in the history of fiction...
I loved Paul. His exit is the best EE have done.

It was really interesting to see characters that weren't/haven't been in the show very long making the top 100. Kevin Wicks being the surprise I found.

I'm only a third of the way through this episode, and already I enjoyed seeing several of the older characters being interviewed - Anita Dobson, Leslie Grantham, Bill Treacher (who hasn't aged a day) and Gary Beadle as well. I loved Paul Trueman, and I wish he hadn't been killed off. Great character.

The interviews with Bill, Anita and Leslie were all from the 25th anniversary, that's why they haven't aged a day! ;)

I'm watching this bit by bit. Up to Kevin Wicks now. As he's about to die, when he and Shirley are re-enacting Kevin's boy-racer past, Shirley remarks, "I feel like I'm 14 again." Really, Shirley? This is what happens when you create a history against even subtle fact. At 14, Shirley was, as we know now, not a happy bunny at all, yet in 2008, her memories of 14 were playing Speed Queen and joyriding with Kevin Wicks.

Knowing Shirley she probably was joy-riding the same day that she gave birth.

And also, it is just a saying.
