Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism".

It's a shame this clashes with EastEnders, and they couldn't have moved it back 30 minutes. I thought Shona was brilliant when she sang on Children In Need (or was it Comic Relief?) a few years ago.

Interesting that Sharon D Clarke was included, she only appeared in one episode in 2011 as Connor's mum Kendra. I hope she's joining the cast again, she's an Olivier Award winning actress and she originated the role of Rafiki in my favourite West End musical, The Lion King.

I imagine they just grabbed her because they know she can sing. She is incredible.

It's a bid odd that this will be on BBC Radio 2 at 8pm on Friday 20th (at the exact same time as the live episode).

Shona is absolutely incredible though and Tameka makes me laugh.
