Ugh, don't even. There's a very large Pat-shaped hole in this anniversary week.

Although thinking about it, was Pam in the 25th live episode? I can't remember her having any significant scenes but feel like if she had been in it, they wouldn't have just shoved her in the background.

Pam would have been back for the whole week.

I'm so bitter.
I'm with you on this, I'm so angry with this decision. What makes it worse is that they went against Pam's wishes.

Pat SO would have been back this week. I could imagine Pat having a heart-to-heart with Ian after he finds out who killed Lucy. :(

Pat's presence would have enhanced so many of the big stories over the last year. I don't think it will ever not be upsetting that such an icon was killed off for no apparent reason.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

This past year was made for Pat really: David's return, Janine's exit, Carol's cancer, Lucy's death, Nick's return, Dean's return, Bianca's exit, Shirley getting the Vic.

I'm a bit like a broken record regarding Pat, but I'll never stop being bitter.

Ever.

I'm going to go against the grain here, yes it is upsetting that the show went against Pam's wishes in regards to Pat's exit but there has always been cases were actors didn't get what they wanted; June Brown didn't want Charlie Cotton Senior killed off but it went ahead so it's not a unique case.

She had a couple of lines in the 25th live episode but nothing particularly significant to the plot. I remember her getting drunk and asking Peggy to have a dance with her.

I'm 100% sure Dean some how dies in the live episode.
How are you 100% sure? The talk recently was that TPTB may be extending Matt di Angelo's contract, and why would they have yet another death interfere and distract from the revelation of the identity of Lucy's killer?

Could be some major rewriting of the live episode coming soon depending on events at Linda Henry trial today.

She's been cleared.

Link in the trial thread.

I don't think Dean is gonna die in the live episode. We already have Lucy's killer being revealed and Nick ODing, so I don't think he will be getting killed off at least there.

Is Buster coming back? I wanna know from Shirley's mouth once and for all if he is Dean's father. All we had is Dean accusing him of it, and Shirley didn't say anything. I know its probably 99.99999% true, but I wanna hear it from the horse's mouth.

Yeah Buster's returning DTC confirmed it and Shirley did confirm Buster was Dean's biological father because Babe knew he was and asked Shirley if they [Buster and Dean] knew they were father and son and Shirley confirmed it.

I thought that when Babe was asking that, she was referring to Mick and Buster and not Mick and Dean and she said something like "do the math" which I took to meant that Shirley was telling Babe that it was true that Buster was Mick's dad. I also thought that Babe had asked if it was TRUE that Buster was Mick's father. Then again, I might have misheard the scene.

Also, Shirley could be lying since she was afraid Dean was digging around for info, but then again she had no reason to lie.

Now they need to just come outright and admit that he was Carly's father and they had been banging each other consistently even when she was married to Kevin.

Buster being Carly's Dad would be a retcon too far. They made a specific point of Shirley not knowing who either of their fathers were but Carly especially, it led a huge rift when she told her the fake Daddy story.

Dean is definitely in Friday's episode right? Odd that he has a thick beard in the preview pics but at the Norton show he was almost clean shaven... guess we are looking at a fake beard for the live ;)

I thought that it was made a big point that she didn't know who DEAN'S father was to be honest since she didn't even give a name, but since I think Carly won't be back anytime soon, it doesn't matter.

She didn't know either of them but Carly's was focused on a lot more as she concocted a fake story and this was what led them to their rift which continued beyond her exit.

Maybe they are just tired of people wanting a character that has been dead for NINE years now come back as if nothing ever happened.
