What are you looking forward most to when he returns for his permanent stint and what do you want EE to do with the character? For me because Martin is an ordinary guy, he's quite relatable and he has some old connections, it will be nice seeing him interacting with newer faces and working back on the market, plus there is the fact of having a Fowler back on the square and representing an iconic EE family. |

I want Martin and Stacey to be a new couple. I want Martin to have scenes with Ian and Sharon. I want him away from Sonia

I don't I'd like Martin to become an "everyman" - a bit like his father before him. |

I want Martin to be who he was before: basically a good guy who means well and who's happy to lead a quiet life and enjoy a pint in the Vic with his mates, but who is also, like his father, occasionally prone to making bad decisions in life. In a way, Martin is a character not unlike Ricky Butcher. And yes, I can see him working well with Stacey, if that's the road they'll take him. Although I wouldn't mind seeing him as a single bloke for a while first... I can't recall him being much of a womanizer, so I can see Stacey being interested but Martin being quite oblivious for a while. And seeing he and Kush are already old mates, I would very much like to see Martin get pally with the Masoods as well. |

Controversial opinion: I'm not sure I want him back on the stall. I get the sentiment and the history but a 29 year-old should not be doing the exact same job he was doing as a teenager. There's a time to help out in a family business and a time to grow up and get a job of your own (or at least take a serious role in the family business instead of doing the grunt work).

Can anyone remember what Martin's current job is? Is sounds like he works in an office and goes to meetings etc. |

I know what you mean, but it's a market stall - what else is there for him to do except the grunt work? |

Anyone know when Martin is back again? It seems like forever since we saw him and Rebecca. I can see him taking over the market stall again when Peter leaves. |

He has a market stall wherever it is that he lives. He worked in the produce section of a supermarket in Manchester. Martin will take over the stall again, when Peter Posh legs it. I can't see him working for Ian, however. He'll probably buy the stall back from him. I don't think Martin is an office lackey, since he left school at sixteen to do exactly what he ended up doing - working in the family business. What else is there for him to do on the Square? Work in Ian's chippy? Sell cars with Max? |

Martin is certainly going to be a different person to what he was before. I'm not sure what to expect or want from him. I guess it's all down to the writers and what they do with him. Jimmy Bye gave a competent performance for his first appearance and I hope that's only going to improve. Edited by MuteBanana, 9 Feb 2015, 00:19.

I hope that if Martin runs the stall, he interacts with Pam, Kush, Kat, Donna, Tamwar and Aleks. Peter never really felt like 'part' of the market gang. |

I want Startin. Enough said. And I also want Brian Arthur Fowler to be born before 2017. We have a lot of Beales, but Rebecca is the only Fowler. I kind of did wish that Mark had a child out there that came looking for him, but that's pretty stupid. |

Was gonna say... I know Brian was Stacey's dads name, but it's hardly the name for a baby in the 21st century

Tbh I am never big on all these kids being named after classic characters. It never happens this much in real life. |

It never happens that much in the show either. It's just that all the fans always bring up the names of old characters when guessing the names of new babies. |
