I hate the thought of all this, it's cheap. They need to be creating new memories.
Is Mick going to turn up on the Vic doorstep in nothing but a bow tie??
Yes please!

They're creating a whole week of new memories. But the whole point of celebrating an anniversary is that you give a nod back to the past as well. Better to do it in a way that has an underlying resonance rather than in a way that feels really clunky and shoehorned.

Lauren walking along Bridge Street to meet Peter to tell him she's pregnant and Shabnam, in the doorway of the shop, calls out and asks if she is OK. (This happened to Michelle in 1985 and 1995.)

Someone in Pauline mode sitting in the Vic spying a secret being spilled in the Vic hallway.
I love that. I hope there are little nods like that throughout the week.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

And, y'know, life is full of coincidences. Sometimes I'll be humming a song to myself and then suddenly that song will come on the radio. Other times, I kick in the door to my neighbour's house and find a corpse in there exactly 30 years to the day after somebody else kicked in that same door and found a corpse in there. I then, unknowingly, quote them word for word.

It happens.

I think it really depends on what scenes are recreated. I wasn't watching in 1985 so I'm not expecting to recognise many, it's a pretty brave thing to do with all of the drama happening over the week. I think this is heading more down a overall enjoyment road than quality episodes as such and the week might not stand up to close scrutiny, however as long as we get good conclusions to thekucy story and we enjoy the week as a celebration I'd say it's done it's job regardless.

Amy is going to go off the rails because Roxy can't even look after herself.

I know, she probably doesn't even realise Roxy is her Mother as we never see them together :P .

No. That's Grant's surprise return for Sharon, at the Mitchells' back door.

Dot : "I killed her, I gave Ethel the pills" "I killed him, I gave Nick the drugs"

Phil being all hardman against Max

Tanya: "And when were you going to tell me Lauren was drinking again?!" (cue Jake & Jo reprising the argument)

Nice homage.
I can see Mick replicating Den at the end of the ep and someone nicking fruit from the stall and being caught and told off by Ian like Mark and Pete.
I really need to watch the first ep again on Tuesday to refresh my memory as to what they might include.

Mrs Peel, I'd thank you not to be gossiping about my dreams.

Max will go on a Lou Beale-type rant when he finds out that Lauren is pregnant.

"Over my dead body you'll be bringing up a child in this house" etc.

I think it'd be good if Ian overhears Jane/Cindy/Peter discussing the murder with their accomplice over Beth's baby monitor, which obviously is a nod to when Tiffany found out about Grant and her Mum.

It will be fitting for Martin and Stacey to be involved. Martin due to his connections in the show. Stacey if she gets to utter Den's line when finding Nick's body because she briefly interacted with Den after the Den/Zoe/Dennis business and played a small part in his murder SL and she was in the café with Bradley when Nasty Nick tried to blow it up all them years back. Kush because he is a nod to the future. Past, Present and Future all represented by three young characters.

Except Janine deserved it that time around and while Sonia does need some slapping around, this is probably one of the FEW times she didn't.
