I understand its a nod to Stax but this isn't some sleazy affair revealed by a child who didn't know how to deal with it. This is a murder and if Jane isn't the killer why the hell does she torture the family (or Jane) with messages like she wrote in the wedding card? I mean that would be a seriously disgusting thing to do. You cant tell the police but you can do BS like this? I am seriously wondering why she would think this was by any means a good idea. Unless Jane is the killer and she is trolling her? Its just not the way a decent human being would behave. I do hope if Jane is not the killer they can explain this away as otherwise it makes Lauren look pretty damn cruel. |

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism". | |

I also think it's a very cruel thing to. I can't really see the rationale behind it, myself. If she doesn't think it's Jane (but, say, Ian or Peter), then it's just really fucked up.

I assumed it was a way of telling Jane it was a family member who killed Lucy (assuming it's not Jane of course!) Why would Jane read that then trot off to get married? |

But being cryptic and in a wedding card no less is cruel. I don't understand her actions or rationale behind it. Even if she was going to tell them putting it in a card!? Lauren isn't supposed to be cruel person. The only thing that can explain it to me is Jane is the killer or at least she thinks she is. And even then its still a very odd thing to do and why would she cover for Jane and not tell the police? |

I think Lauren is a character who simply doesn't know how to give people bad news. She would back out at the last minute if she were to try to tell Jane in person, so she has to rely on something impulsive such as writing in a card in order to tell Jane. Leaving the card at the Beales' was a fleeting act of bravery for Lauren, and then once she leaves the house there is no going back, it is then out of her hands. |

Lauren has a habit of doing first and then thinking second. We saw this with Stax, planting the DVD under the tree and then immediately regretting it and trying to stop them watching it. She did the same with the Stacey's confession, and now she's wrote the card and done a runner. |

Lauren is definitely a very impulsive character. |

If it's Jane who did it then it was a weird way of telling her she was onto her. If she was trying to tell her that one of the others in the house who'd done it then why didn't she name them? She was planning to leave so it's hardly like Jane could find her and ask her what she knows, how etc. All it's going to do is make Jane completely uncomfortable and suspicious of everyone in the house but there's no saying she'd get a confession out of anyone. It was a weird thing to do, very half-hearted. Taking someone some of the way to the truth but not all the way so the recipient is flailing about in the dark not having the benefit of Emma's notes to fall back on like she did. Unless she knows it was Jane who did it of course, or she suspects that Jane knows and is covering up so is putting the willies up Jane thinking that she has no right to be happy after what she did/helped cover up? My guess is that she thinks Jane is the killer and doesn't want to go to the police so this is the next best thing. When she went to the Beale house that night Jane said she saw her but she couldn't have from Masoods so maybe she assumed Jane must have been in the Beale home and she put two and two together. |
