I think a guest stint iniatially as a test run is a real possibility.. Like him or loathe him Dean has always been tremendously popular with cast crew and all(ok many!) the behind the scenes folk. Who can say?Anythings possible and I feel sure hed visit Carol sometime. Not saying Im massively pro this but my reaction aint automatically negative. However Dean is probably just teasing! |

I wouldn't mind the odd guest stint, just to add some realism and Jackson nostalgia, but realistically, what could he offer the show? There's a reason he was axed. He's a character I associate with the likes of Gus ie characters best far away from Walford. Stay in India. |

You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

There was a time when Ricky was in that category wasn't there? By the mid-noughties he'd become a bit of a nothing-y characters. Fast forward to 2008 when Bianca returns and suddenly it all becomes magical again. |

But that's all down to Bianca. Ricky needs Bianca to have that magic. They are a couple cemented in British television. Ricky became a D-List character because he was only one half of that couple, in the same way Bianca never felt right once Ricky left. The closest Robbie came to an iconic relationship is Wellard. Like I said, a stint to see him with Carol and Sonia and his nieces and nephews would be nice, but I don't see Robbie picking up rubbish from the market fitting in with today's cast. I don't really see what Robbie, or Dean, could do to improve the show. |

A new future branch of grandchildren in the longterm could be a positive consequence of this even if Dean just does guest stints? I think Deans just trying his luck to be honest but we shall see!

Open the floodgates of hell and let everyone come back. There's room for Gus, Mickey Miller, Keith and Rosie Miller, the Ferreiras, Eddie Skinner, Anthony Moon, Ruby Allen and we could even bring Mad May back. After all, we don't know if that were her body they brought out of the burning building. I don't even want Robbie back for a guest stint. The character was past his sell-by date when he left. This is becoming absurd. |

...well he was at the Graham Norton show. |

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism".

They need to focus on the characters they've got, a lot of them are underused as it is. The last thing we need is "comedy" Robbie Jackson back. |

Really though, there's very little chance of this happening. He was asked a question, he answered it accordingly. There's very little place for a character like Robbie in such a slick cast that we have now. But, I don't think a small guest stint in occasion episodes is out of the question. |

Yep, here they all come running back. ![]() I like the returnees, but are not sure how many we need, or even how long they have to stay for. but isnt Martin filling the dim-but-nice role at the moment? |

If it was for Jim's funeral only I think it would be a good idea. They were very close so a return would be realistic. |

Robbie without Wellard just isn't the same is it. The last time we saw him he was also still very much a manchild and that could get grating. We already have more than enough characters who need to grow the hell up. Still it could work. There's definitely room for him to return and the fact that he's a father now so that does allow for a shift in character. Robbie is pretty similar to Ricky and seeing him as a dad worked surprisingly well. I think Robbie is a character they will bring back eventually. He's not someone they desperately need to be bring back but he does have a certain value. You never know when you might need some more familiar characters and he does fit that bill. If they start losing familiar names they could do worse than bring Robbie back. |
| Warning: Posts made by The Local Butcher may contain sarcasm, frustrated expressions of fatigue in the face of Eastenders' neverending insanity, desperate and ill-conceived attempts to be funny, controversial opinions and nuts. Not necessarily in that order. | |

From the little I've seen of him I've always liked him. Plus the actor came across really well in the Digital Spy interview. Edited by Planck, 5 Mar 2015, 10:16.

No thanks, even Wellard was a better actor than him. |
