What on earth is happening with Jay and Lola? It's obvious that Jay really likes Lola but why is EastEnders is taking so long to pair up Jay and Lola as a couple? I think Lola is a better choice than Abi.

Don't get me started. The best potential young couple for literally a decade is sitting right infront of them and they're doing nothing with it.

I personally always loved Jay/Abi, still do, but Jay/Lola have a lot of potential that I'd like them to explore. I'm sure they will get together eventually.

They'll get there eventually but it's annoying that we get one episode, then nothing for weeks, then another ep, then nothing etc.

Two very neglected and inconsistently written characters.

Danielle Harolds renewing of her contract was much heralded but there's been virtually little of substance since.Definitely not a favourite or priority of dtcs.

I liked Ben and Abi, they had a lovely wee friendship as children and they were kinda like first loves. But they grew up and Ben pursued his musicals and grew into a different person.

so then Abi switched her affection to Jay. Another motherless boy in need.

but Jay grew up and Abi is still hankering after guinea pigs and motherless boys.

Jay meets Lola, a girl whos had a hard life like himself, she has become a mother early, but despite the rocky start, is proving very good at it. She has gained a bit of maturity and has ambition. She gets Jay. I would love to see them together and moving up in the Square hierarchy.

Abi is growing up, but in a lost child kinda way. It wasnt until I wrote this, that I realised she has never really been on her own, which probably explains why she is clinging to Ben so much. Who is paying her share of the rent and food, etc? Is she bludging off Sharon?
Just livin' in perfect New Zealand!

It's actually mind boggling why they don't give Jamie big storylines. The viewers know Jay. They like him. He's a decent guy. Give him something massive and gritty and there, you have something an audience can invest in.

I'm silently hoping once Kathy returns, Sharon and Jay form a stronger relationship,

As for Lola, I really like the character, but I struggle to think of anything for her. They need to start to take her in a different direction soon before she goes stale.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

They really should have seized the opportunity in the aftermath of Heather's death to see how it damaged Jay. I suppose they couldn't have given him a breakdown at the same time as Ian's, but he could have self-harmed or maybe even developed an eating disorder because of it.

I like Jay and would be happy to see his part beefed up but I don't really care about Lola.

Naysayers will care about Lola when she's actually given the drama... if she's given the drama.

What is the latest on this anyway? The last thing I remember is Jay saying he liked her, then she said she couldn't deal with it or something and ran off into the night. That was about a month ago. Was that the last time we saw them?

Has it ever been established at what age Lola's mum gave her up? Would she recognise her if she saw her again?

Lola was 3 years old apparently when her mum left her so she wouldn't recognise her I imagine.

Lola's maternal grandmother cared for her until her death, and then Lola went into care, so I'm guessing she would have seen photos of her mum at least.

Were Dan and her mother married or was it a relationship ala Keith and Rosie Miller? I'd assume marriage because she has his last name.

I still think it was stupid to kill off Billy's son. I'd much rather have had Dan Pearce then see Lola get pregnant (though I did grow to love Lexi)

I don't understand why Lola is leaving, since, that is happening. I wonder if it ties in, with Abi/Ben/Paul.

I don't see why Jay and Abi split up just to give Ben more to do. Sacrificing a strong couple to then give Jamie nothing to do is shit. They clearly rate Ben more than Jay. Understandable given who Ben's parents are but Jamie's been part of the show for nearly 9 years...and for what? He needs something.

I would quite like to see Abi and Jay get back together, now that they are older. I doubt that it will happen.

Did Jay break up with Abi, because of his feelings for Lola? I can't remember.
