Borthwick is too good an actor to be wasted on Harold.

Lola is a bland character played by a lazy actress who shrieks and shrugs her way through most of her scenes. I don't get the Lola love at all.

Has it ever been confirmed, that DTC axed Danielle Harold?

I don't think he knew what to do with her. It's as simple as that.

Speaking of Lola and Lexie, you have to mention Ben's totally ignoring Lexie completely, especially considering the effort TPTB are putting into emphasizing blood relations over any sort of adopted or legal parent-child relationship.

We've had Mick and Dean re-connect with their birth father, only to have Dean completely bin his late "legal" father from Dad-status and begin referring to a man he's known five minutes as "Dad." Mick, on the other hand, will only ever consider Stan as his father, as he should. Now we've got Sharon referring to Den and Angie by their names and referring to Carol Hanley and Gavin Sullivan as her "real mum and dad," when they were only the incubator and the sperm donor who brought her about.

Ben is Lexie's birth father. Phil acknowledges that and fought tooth and nail for the child, but Ben has relinquished all responsibility, not even attempting to get to know the child on a parental basis. I know he's extremely young, and extremely young teenaged dads (Buster and Gavin) don't seem to want/aren't able to assume responsibility until the children in question have reached adulthood.

Ben being on the same Square as his daughter and not even giving a hoot is weird, even by EastEnders' standards.
It seems that DTC wants to totally eradicate anything that Birkwood has done regarding Ben and his coming out storyline and anything that wasn't bludgeoning Heather with a heavy picture frame. Ben already came out and Phil reacted. Now he is suddenly back in the closet again and porking Abi. They only referenced Ben being Lexi's birth father once when he came back and they dropped it and never mentioned it again aside from Lola using Phil as a bank. I wouldn't be surprised if Lexi turned out to be somebody else's entirely! It seems DTC thinks they made a mistake making Ben a father. I thought so also but I came around to it. Now I wanna see it on-screen, because when Lola leaves, we'll probably never hear about they again/

Maybe one way DTC will "erase" Ben/Lola/Lexie will be to kill off Lexie?

At the moment, Danielle Harold is in the cast list, until Tuesday 28th July. That's the episode, where two people are planning to leave. I wonder if that's her last episode.

Don't think so. Her departure was only announced in mid June and she was still filming.

I've got a growing fear that Lola could die on Tuesday. Thursday's spoilers say one family is torn apart, while Friday's say one family continues to crumble. At this point that could still mean anything, but I wouldn't rule anything out at this point.

I think that it's very likely, as well. Even if her and Jay weren't together, I don't see why she would leave the square. Then again, maybe, its about Max being arrested.

The family being referred to is the Cokers.

I hope Lola does die. She's not a huge character but her connections make the despair she'd leave behind such amazing viewing.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

And I just can't think of any other realistic way for her to leave. Billy and Lola struggle for money as it is, would she really leave her beloved Pops on his own to cope with Janet, and want to struggle financially herself? And would Phil let her take his granddaughter away? I doubt it, especially when she's Kathy's granddaughter as well. Ben as a single, reluctant dad is too good an opportunity to miss.

Maybe she will be Bobby's next victim.

Another couple with seemingly no build up (this is becoming a theme with EE at the moment) that said I do like them together.
Typical that Lola is finally appearing in more episodes just as she's about to leave.

Not sure if it's a possible spoiler but I'll put it in tags anyway.

I'm so ready for Lola to die. I'm not really upset she's leaving at all. Yeah it's a shame that there's a solid foundation being axed, but Danielle isn't anything more than "good", and the idea of her dying and superior actors like Jamie, Perry, Steve etc all getting this meaty story to get their teeth into is so promising.

I'm down for this.

As amazing as it could be though I don't think it's the right time. There's too much going on in the story at the moment, and in the rest of the show, and if done now I don't feel like it would be done the justice it deserves. With all their stories at the moment throwing Lola's death in now would put them in danger of Carter-like overload.

If we have to lose Lola I'll accept her dying, but I don't think it should be yet.

They did this with emma too. She was credited after she died to throw us off the scent.
If that was Lola's exit, I hope jay is returning. I love Lola but if I had the choice between keeping Lola and jay. Id always chose jay.

Is it not the Cokers who are the focus of next Thursday and Friday's episodes?
