I'm actually really excited about this. I have such a soft spot for Babe. Her bad side is so theatrical and big, but contrasts so well with the very real and human idea of unrequited love. She works best on this recurring basis, popping up in little bursts. Would they really relate Heather to the Carters? The only reason why I could see them doing it is to bring George into the fold, but would they really do that, with Roya just around the corner? Not too sure. I hope we aren't waiting much longer. |
| "I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver | |

I'd love it if we were to see Queenie again for the reveal of whatever this dark secret is... Judy Cornwell is 75 and apparently she's still acting occasionally (she did a couple of guest roles in Doctors, and she popped up in Birds of a Feather last year). I'd love to see her interact with Annette Badland. |

She's doing a theatre tour in the Autumn so she's definitely still acting - she's playing Miss Marple. Rachel Bright who played Poppy is also in the show. Edited by Katrina, 26 Apr 2015, 14:38.

Kinda like Shirley then. |

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism". | |

I was sure that Heather had said on many occasions that the time with Darren was her first. Shirley even had to explain what "special cuddles" were. If she had been abused, she would have known what they were doing, surely? I do hope it not another abuse case, I am getting a bit over sexual abuse and cancer we seem to have had a lot of those sorts of stories. (no offence to anyone who has suffered through this, I just feel it is being sensation and trivialized.) |

I agree, an abuse storyline would be too much, especially at the moment with Kat's ongoing storyline. I think it's going to be dark though. |

Secret revealed next week in Ramsgate. It happened TO Mick as a baby and 'disgusts' Shirley: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a664999/eastenders-spoilers-aunt-babes-secret-to-be-exposed-when-the-carters-visit-ramsgate.html This sounds beyond dark. |

Heather was Mick's secret twin, Shirley just can't remember because she was 14 and confused. |

It really sounds like Queenie abused Mick as a baby. Are they going to go there? Would they go there? |

They would announce a storyline like that if they even considered it. |

May be? Queenie was not a very nice woman as I recall, infact she was pretty vile to Heather. |

Shirley finds out the secret, Mick and Shirley start getting along again but Shirley doesn't tell him the secret, argument occurs a few months down the line, Shirley tells him the secret she has been keeping, Mick gets angry at Shirley for keeping this from him. Calling it now. |

I'm thinking now that they probably tried to sell Mick to someone. I don't think it's abuse, Shirley is smiling in the scenes at the beach which take place later, I don't think she'd be holding it together if it was something that dark and I very much doubt Babe would still be breathing.

That would require more retconning since Heather is 10 years older than Mick is but I doubt anybody will remember that. |
