I wonder how long the list of departees is and who's on the list?
Whitney? Fatboy? Lola? Cindy?

Yes I do think that is the reason the BBC have confirmed it.

I think they are all a possibility, we might start getting more announcements soon.

I can't see Whitney going, and that makes me more certain that as soon as "Startin" gets started, the man who is more drippy than an intravenous line will make an appearance and we will have the triangle from hell that nobody asked for and that will play out for a few months due to him being involved in Stacey's storyline with the key and maybe he might get back together with Lauren and baby Beale Branning since Peter isn't coming back.

Either that or he keeps Whitney by getting her pregnant by Lee, and we get to see her baby and her aunt/uncle being raised together since Linda would give birth months before Whitney and we get treated to Shirley and Buster trying to cope with the knowledge that they are great-grandparents now. Not that either of them are great.

I'm not too cut up about this. Forde just wasn't a very interesting actor. And I still think it was ridiculous of Liam to stomp his foot and insist on staying in Walford. Bianca had every right to demand he go to Milton Keynes with her and the family. He was a minor and she was his mother and guardian, plain and simple.

I agree that Liam will be back within 5 years played by another actor. Maybe he could end up as Courtney Mitchell's love interest? It's always seemed fitting that they might end up together considering who their mothers were. And for them to have a child which combined both of Bianca and Tiffany's DNA....awww.

While I agree that Forde isn't the best actor in the world, I do think that they haven't really given Liam a chance since Bianca left. We should have seen more of him and Ian for a start. It was as if they wanted another person to carry on the Beale legacy, but then they successfully recast Martin and gave up on Liam.

I also think it's influenced in part by DTC wanting to free up the budget to bring in more big names.

I expect to hear news of Lindsey Coulson's departure imminently. I imagine he's been axed because she's leaving.

It's encouraging that his exit has been announced on its own, I hope that means Lindsey and Shona are staying.
I initially thought that too, but it seems the BBC were prompted to confirm his exit in response to his tweets, rather than of their own initiative.

I do hope I'm wrong though.
Yep, looks like he broke his own embargo.

Can't say he will be missed. I still hope that David Wicks will return one day.

Like I needed even less reasons to tune in. I haven't been watching for a couple of weeks now.

It's been obvious for a while that DTC doesn't give a shit about the younger characters. Lessening their screentime was necessary but they've gone completely overboard and essentially killed all the younger characters. Either by getting rid of them, not using them or assasinating their characters and by doing so they're alienating the younger viewers they've worked so hard to gain.

On the one hand it makes sense to get rid of Liam as his family is gone and if they keep James much longer it will be harder to recast later on but when you look at the current cast and the lack of young people in it you really have to wonder why you'd get rid of the only teenage boy in the show let alone a character who had 7 years on the clock.

I doubt Cindy is going anywhere so she'll need a boyfriend sooner or later meaning that effectively they're just going to replace Liam with some random hunk who has none of Liam's history or connections.
Warning: Posts made by The Local Butcher may contain sarcasm, frustrated expressions of fatigue in the face of Eastenders' neverending insanity, desperate and ill-conceived attempts to be funny, controversial opinions and nuts. Not necessarily in that order.
