Jake didn't do the Strictly tour so he could focus on EastEnders, has said numerous times that he wants to stay for years and plays one of the most popular and recognisable characters in the show. He'll be back.
I'm with you, Arnie! :D
Massive thanks to NickM for this wonderful signature! :)

I think as Ben has now been arrested, Phil could frame Max and that's his temporary exit - prison.

As he's not been arrested and as Carol has joined the thrall for him to buck up and find a job, maybe he'll go someplace to work - with or for Jack or April or Suzy. Maybe he'll go to New Zealand to see Lauren.

I'm excited to see if the BBC offers him his own series. Maybe pair him and Jo Joyner up as couple of detectives with a Mulder and Scully thing going on.

I'm wondering what's going to happen to all these empty houses on the Square - it was mentioned last week the doctor's surgery was being renovated so presumably someone is going to move in there. Once Max leaves, the Branning house will be empty and then to keep Sonia and Tina in Pat's old house would just be sacrilege once Carol and Liam go.

Hopefully Kathy will get Pat's house. I'm not sure about the Branning household. We seem to have several houses bursting at the seams at the moment (the Vic, the Mitchells', the Trumans') and other houses with barely anyone in them.

I'm sure Phil has his eye on number 5 if it becomes available. I like the sound of Kathy in Pat's house though going from a big family to two people rattling around in there will look weird.

I think Sonia and Tina will end up in the flat Tina once shared with Tosh and Dean on George St.

Claudette will move in soon I think. Must be a candidate for the Branings I suspect.
Realistically Janine will sell the house once Carol and Liam have gone. I cant see us seeing Whitney collecting the rent from the new occupants.

I was about to ask "when did we last get a new family?"

Then I remembered... 😂

Remember back when everyday there would be the "We need a new family" and "It's about time they introduced Derek Branning" posts. You'd never be that far from the "Bring Back Dean" and "Kathy in Witness Protection" debates too.

Hindsight's a funny thing.

That's where Stacey and Martin live now.

Stacey and Martin moved into a new flat (3A) when Kat and Alfie left, so the flat on George Street is empty now as far as we know.

I have no recollection of that whatsoever. Fuck, that's bad.

It wasn't really explained very clearly, I only realised it was a different flat a couple of weeks ago.

Alfie just told Stacey he had paid a year's rent on 3C and gave her the keys in the Vic in their last episode. Then by the next week they had moved in. I'm not surprised people didn't pick up on it.

So if he'd paid a years rent on 3C, why did she move into 3A? I'm confused.

I really hope not. Ellen is abysmal and to cement her place as a regular in fucking Johnny Allen's old house would be horrid. I think DTC will be smart enough to gauge the poor-negative reaction to her brief appearances and axe her, a lot of characters are introduced slowly in this way so it's easier to get rid if things go wrong.

Ah, but Shamelessness just said they moved into 3A. Was 3A the old flat then? I'm not really up on the house numbers...

Also, why did Alfie pay a years rent on a different flat instead of just keeping her in the same one?
