I think Rita has proven her worth more times than Sam ever has, personally. I'd rather watch Roxy stick around and make a life for herself as a long-term Albert Square resident and just watch Ronnie... go away.

Interesting scores! Surprised Sam is so low but can understand as she has looked bored with EE recently. I was amazed I gave James Forde 8 so checked my scores and it seems my 3 has been mistaken for 8! :P
Sorry about that.

27: SHONA MCGARTY
Average: 6.44

Highest Score: 8 (Jin, Zachary, Blades' Receptionist, Shamelessness, Blokeoptimistic, Katie)
Lowest Score: 2 (Mrs Peel)
Character Average: 5.68
Character Result: 26th

I've grown bored of Shona, to be honest. She was brilliant in the whole Tony King storyline but I feel that the character was introduced almost entirely for that storyline with no planning for their future (a la Charlie Cotton). Too often she seems bored and bland for my liking. But I know what she is capable of and hopefully she can get back to her best with Lee's upcoming storyline.

Mr. Right: She’s good when Shona can be bothered.
Jin: Underrated.
Mrs Peel: Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Spent character
Cam: Phoning it in.
MrSunshine: Shona excells at big scenes but seems false in everyday scenes.
Blades' Receptionist: Shona shines in her scenes.
*Betty*: Has had some great moments, and some woeful. As she grows up though, I feel like it's been more consistent.
Mitchells 42: Very good when given the chance. She should have more to do.
Zachary: She handled a lot of her storylines fantastically, she is a treasure to the show. I really hope they give her character purpose.
TaintedRose: She’s nothing special, but she’s pretty good when she wants to be.

27: BONNIE LANGFORD
Average: 6.44

Highest Score: 8 (Mrs Peel, Planck, Jin, Zachary, See You Slater, NevermindMe)
Lowest Score: 1 (Gangstress)
Character Average: N/A
Character Result: N/A

A very good result for someone so new to the show. I think she totally gets the character of Carmel and has really made her her own. She's realistic and very believable. I particularly loved her first few episodes. She's ended up here getting plenty of high scores, and only two scores below 5. A great start from Bonnie, who I was extremely sceptical about.

Blades' Receptionist: I like her acting so far.
King Billy: Really good start.
Katie: I'm still undecided, but I quite like her so far.
*Betty*: The comedy timing has been good, I want to see more.
TaintedRose: Like the character, again haven’t seen enough of her.
Mr. Right: We’ve not seen too much of her but I do see potential within Bonnie’s portrayal of Carmel.
Jin: A natural.
MrJames: What a legend. So much better than I anticipated.
weewoman: I do not find her very "stable" in portraying Kushy's (shudder) mom.
Mrs Peel: Peggy Lite. I like her.
Mitchells 42: First time in my life I've never wanted to throw something at my telly when Langford's on
MrSunshine: Hasn't done enough yet but seems promising.
Zachary: Love her!
Gangstress: Good Grief.

I have never liked Bonnie Langford before, didn't like her in Doctor Who, haven't liked her when I've seen her on stage, but she has just slotted right in to EastEnders. I love Carmel, and Langford has done a great job at creating a strong, realistic woman.

I quite honestly despaired when she was announced. I mean, I was half expecting her to high kick into the Square and giggle her way through all her scenes. "Bonnie Langford" in flashing lights. But not once when I've watched her have I seen Bonnie, I've seen Carmel. She has created a real force in her performances. There's love, ditziness, fierceness. Everything. And from what I hear, Bonnie has brought a real old fashioned work ethic with her, which is always refreshing.

I'm so happy to say I was completely wrong, and I'm even happier to see she has done so well on this. Long Live Carmel!
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

25: MIMI KEENE
Average: 6.51

Posted Image

Highest Score: 11 (Solar1808)
9 (Daniel68)
Lowest Score: 2 (Katie)
Character Average: 5.5
Character Result: 28th

I ADORE MIMI. I think she is just brilliant and I hope she stays with the show for a very, very long time. I actually think she deserves to be higher than this, I certainly think she's better than Lorna Fitzgerald or Jacqueline Jossa. I don't think I've ever been so impressed by a young actor on EastEnders. I can see her being here for many, many years. I hope so anyway. Some people seem to think she's over the top at times, and I agree, but I do think that that is part of Cindy's character, rather than poor acting. She's a star.

Jin: A talent in the making.
*Betty*: Has potential, but needs to be slowly built up.
Planck: Absolutely dreadful - especially at the dramatic material.
Mitchells 42: Best younger actor on the show by a mile. One to watch.
Mrs Peel: Room for improvement, yes. But she likes the camera on her too much
Gangstress: Very good but she seems to be trying different things with her acting lately that just don't work.
MrSunshine: Best new young character. The episode she gave birth and the live were highlights but she has to be careful not to make Cindy 2D.
King Billy: I think I'm in the minority, but I really rate Mimi.
Mr. Right: Great on occasions, less so on others.
TaintedRose: She can be a bit up and down, but she’s generally quite good.
Zachary: I don't get the big fuss with Mimi, I honestly don't see it.
holly: I think she's the best young actor/actress on the show at the minute, I think she's doing well with some of the tough storylines she's been given.
weewoman: I know that the current storyline is maybe too much to be asked, but I applaud her for that. However, the mannerisms, I am not that fond of.
Katie: I feel bad criticising her as she's still young and has had some big scenes, but I don't think she's been very good in a lot of them.
Blades' Receptionist: She was impressing me, but recently her acting has become OTT.
MrJames: Her highs have been very, very high, but her lows have been quite low, sadly. As I keep saying though, she is still only sixteen so there's plenty of time to iron out the creases.

25th as well

25: MATT DI ANGELO
Average: 6.51

Posted Image

Highest Score: 10 (Daniel68, Sey)
Lowest Score: 1 (Zachary)
Character Average: 4.32
Character Result: 43rd

Another of my favourites. I think the improvement since his return has made 2006-2008 Di Angelo almost unrecognisable. He portrays the troubled, angry, messed up little boy so well and as hateable as Dean is, the acting is nearly always brilliant in my book. I will never forget the scene just after Shirley shot Phil and she ran away with Babe. He broke my heart in that scene. For me he's one of the best male members of the cast, but I know that many don't agree which is why he's only ended up 25th. A few people have mentioned inconsistency and a decrease in his performances in the last few months - would've been interesting to see how he'd have done this time last year.

Mr. Right: He has moments, however, I think he tries a little bit too hard at times and it really drags the scenes down.
Blades' Receptionist: I'm so glad he's been given many more chances to shine since he returned. I hate what TPTB have done to Dean's character, but I think Matt has handled it well and scenes such as the police interview showed how well he can act.
MrJames: He's delivered some great performances in the last year, but I think he's been absolutely terrible recently and that has driven his score down for me, unfortunately.
Zachary: Absolute cringe.
Jin: I thought he was better in Hustle
Shamelessness: very hit and miss, wooden one moment, hammy the next with glimmers of great moments, way too inconsistent
King Billy: Bored of him now. Not good enough.
Mrs Peel: Better this time around. He learned from his associations with Robert Vaughan and Jeremy Irons, but the character needs ending
holly: did really well in the rape storyline, it's always interesting to see it from the villains perspective and he really made me think about what happened, he was really believable.
*Betty*: Matt impressed me so much when he returned last year but a lack of direction for the character recently has led to him putting in lazy and cold performances where it is hard to connect with the character.
TaintedRose: Sometimes, he’s okay. Most of the time, he’s just bad.
MrSunshine: A great actor playing a detestable character BUT he does it well. Scarily well. A shame he hasn't really been recognised for his work.
Katie: A bit inconsistent, but I think there have been a few scenes recently where he's been very good.
Mitchells 42: Has come on leaps and bounds from his first stint. Dean is despicable but Matt has played him well. Him screaming for Shirley last year still plays in my mind.
See You Slater: He is awful. As wooden as they come.

I think Matt is a very good actor. It is not easy at all playing a character who has committed a serious sex crime on tv not even as a past background.
Your approval is neither desired nor required.

Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism".

24: DANNY DYER
Average: 6.59

Posted Image

Highest Score: 10 (Blades' Receptionist)
Lowest Score: 1 (holly)
Character Average: 5.56
Character Result: 27th

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. That hasn't gone well. I'm not Mick Carter's biggest fan by any means but are there really 23 better actors on EastEnders than Danny Dyer? This result almost feels like a bit of anger about the Carter's domination of the show until the last month or so. For what it's worth, I think Dyer has been good in EastEnders so far, with his best moments coming in the Boxing Day episode. Whilst he is playing against type as some of you have noted, I get the impression that Dyer is itching to have a big scrap. Wonder where he's have come last year. An early casualty for DTC's main man.

Mitchells 42: Dyer has some tendencies that I'm really not keen on. Mainly how it takes him forever to string a sentence out, but he's certainly not bad by any means
holly: think dyer is actually a poor actor, I just don't get the love for him at all. He's not attractive or talented in the least in my opinion
See You Slater: He is very hit and miss, I find. He played a blinder during the rape reveal and he is good at every day scenes. He makes a good landlord of the pub, but sometimes his delivery is almost like he is playing a part in an EastEnders parody – ie, his scene with Peggy.
MrJames: He's very good when he's at his best but he can rest on his laurels a bit and become a bit panto.
Katie: I'm very surprised at how popular he seems to be with a lot of people.
King Billy: Taken to EastEnders much better than I thought he would.
MrSunshine: Like Kellie Bright Danny has proved what an excellent actor he is. He proved many critics wrong with his sensitive potrayal of Mick. But overexposure is destroying the character. Sometimes less can be more.
Blades' Receptionist: Danny is fantastic. He can do comedy and drama so well and his partnership with Kellie is brilliant.
Mrs Peel: Channeling Shane Richie and playing against type. He's my favourite Carter, along with Bright, at the moment
*Betty*: Dyer isn't the best, but he has a screen presence and has proved his worth to the show.
Cam: Above average but definitely not the great actor he's made out to be.
Mr. Right: EastEnders has proved his ability, he just need to be a little bit more consistent with his performances.
Zachary: I just get the feeling he is playing Danny Dyer rather than actually acting.
TaintedRose: I’m actually not sure why I don’t rate him. He’s just so ‘put on’.
Allegra: Danny Dyer isn't the greatest of actors but he's really found his niche on Eastenders. A bit of a revelation. He has the easy charisma to make Mick their most iconic character since Kat Slater.
Shamelessness: very authentic East End but can sometimes be quite one-note

23: RAKHEE THAKRAR
Average: 6.81

Posted Image

Highest Score: 10 (Planck, lennon, weewoman)
Lowest Score: 2 (Jade)
Character Average: 6.24
Character Result: 16th

I really wasn't sure about her when she first came, but I'm totally sold on her now, especially after the last two weeks. She totally gets the character and she is just so natural. Her facial expressions and tone of voice are always on point - she's one of my favourite actresses in the show right now. Hope she's here for a while, she's been excellent so far. And you guys seem to agree, awarding her three tens along with copious 8s and 9s. Well done, Rakhee.

See You Slater: She can deliver when she wants to, but sometimes is a little weak. Lacey, James and Davood pull her up.
*Betty*: Another of my new favs. She has made Shabnam into a very difficult character but yet she just feels so relatable. Due to what Rakhee brings to the table. I don't think she has reached her full potential yet.
Mr. Right: Sometimes wonderful, sometimes awkard.
weewoman: She makes me feel really close to her, and that is down to the portrayal, not the storylines.
Mitchells 42: Excellent addition as Shabnam, has done wonders for the character. Very naturally funny actress too.
Mrs Peel: Great at portraying depth, but yet another who gurns
MrSunshine: Good actress getting better and better. Subtle and strong in the role. She's saved the Masood family. Proves that the Masood's need strong females to survive.
Blades' Receptionist: I think playing Shabnam holds her back as an actress. I hope Shabnam can get a bit of the Shabnam 1.0 back at some point as I think Rakhee would be great.
Zachary: Fantastic! I love watching Shabnam, she has grown a lot on me recently.
Cam: Really proving herself.
TaintedRose: Pretty average.

22: LORNA FITZGERALD
Average: 6.86

Highest Score: 10 (Zachary, Jack1997)
Lowest Score: 2 (Katie)
Character Average: 6.13
Character Result: 18th

Watch out, Abi's about. Come on then Lorna, where did THAT week come from in February? Where? It wasn't even like we'd seen performances anywhere near that good from her in recent times, in fact a lot of people were awaiting her exit, and then BANG! Outshines pretty much everyone apart from Woodyatt and Brett. Live. And she's been superb ever since. I totally love her relationship with Ben, and how she is with him. Can't wait for her future, she's a legend in the making. I've never heard a line so significant delivered so nonchalantly as 'Just bumped into Lucy and battered her.' Amazing.

Katie: About a year ago I would have put her at the bottom of the list, but I think she's improved lately and there are other people who are worse.
Zachary: Slay the game Queen Lorna!! She stole live week!
Mitchells 42: Another one who amazed me in the lives. Has also grown a lot on the show like Borthwick. Her annoying habbits seem to be slowly fading too. One to watch.
See You Slater: Great character, bad actress. She clearly went to the Letitia Dean school of acting, rolling eyes, folding of arms.
Gangstress: Love her.
MrJames: Yes. I am giving her an 8. Lorna came from absolutely nowhere and stole live week (Beales aside) for her own.
TaintedRose: May be an unpopular opinion, but I think she’s great. She was one of the highlights of Live Week for me, and I hope they continue to let her grow with more adult storylines.
Mr. Right: Lorna was a gem during Live Week. She’s deliciously camp but I think it works well for the character.
weewoman: at times, she pleasantly surprises me, but at times it is doing nothing for me.
Cam: One of the surprising stars of Live Week but in general she snorts and giggles too much for my liking.
Shamelessness: she has rare moments when she's like a young Jo Joyner, but also moments when she's rubbish
King Billy: Shone during live week. Go Abi.
Mrs Peel: She's been Abi Branning too long
*Betty*: Developing into a real star. Nailed the live week scenes.
Blades' Receptionist: she's definitely one to watch. She was great in the live segments.
MrSunshine: She's improved but she's not exactly setting the show alight.
