I'd have scored Rakhee so much higher now than when I sent my vote. |

My "unpopular opinion" comment on Lorna was wrong, apparently. I don't rate Danny, but I'm still quite surprised at his placing considering he seems to be so popular - on social media, especially. |

All three of those hurt. Really pleased that Perry is still in though, very deserved. |

I know everybody loves Danielle Harold, but I genuinely don't think I could put her ahead of Rakhee in any way. It's interesting how differently people think. |
| "I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver | |

I'm pleasantly surprised that Shane Richie has ranked higher than Danny Dyer. People draw comparisons between the two but I honestly think Shane 's top level performances totally surpass Danny's |

Danny's placing feels so right to me. Shame about Rakhee, wish she was higher. Lorna higher than Danny, have to laugh at that. |

If you ask me there are 23 better actors on the dole than Danny Dyer and that's just for starters

I think Dyer's placement is perfect. As an actor, he is about right in the middle. He does have very good screen presence though, so I'm surprised he isn't a bit higher. |

The fact that there are 16 places between their characters yet Matt and Danny are next to each other as actors is extremely interesting. |

I would put Danny in the middle but I am surprised Kellie is above him. I rate him better than her but the characters other way around. As for Rakee I don't buy her performances at all. I was probably at bit harsh with the 2 but I could never see myself at the moment anyhow giving her more than a 4. |

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism". | |

I remember you said there was a Mitchell tie so I'm guessing Perry and Rita although I personally rate Perry way above her. |

Very interesting so far. I think the main surprises for me are Rita's much higher placing than Samantha 's although she is certainly the more committed of the two right now, and the failures of Danny Dyer and Rakhee Thakrar to place in the top twenty. |

A tie! 20th 20: JACQUELINE JOSSA Average: 6.89 ![]() Highest Score: 9 (Zachary, See You Slater) Lowest Score: 4 (Solar1808) Character Average: 5.48 Character Result: 29th I really didn't expect Jacqueline Jossa to do anywhere near as well as this, partly because I never thought she was that popular, but also because I think this is a huge over-performance. I scored her a 6 so I find it surprising to see her finishing above Keene, Di Angelo, Dyer, Fitzgerald, Thakrar and Howman. Nevertheless, this is a very good result and a lot of people have commented on improvements in her acting in the months leading up to her temporary exit. Cam: Was once my least favourite actress but she's proven her worth this year. MrSunshine: The most interesting young female on the show. Doesn't deserve the flak she gets. Seemed to easily grow from lost teenager to troubled young woman. *Betty*: Inconsistent, has grown in the past year. MrJames: As Lauren grows as a character, I think Jacqueline grows as an actress. holly: another that I never really understood the fuss over. Thought she was mediocre. Mitchells 42: Compatent enough but ultimately too aware of the camera for me to properly engage with her performances. weewoman: at times, I find her quite unconvincing, but at times I am also very much drawn to Lauren. Blades' Receptionist: She's good. Mrs Peel: Keep her away from romantic entanglements and she 's good. Needs to tone down the gurning, however Zachary: Jacqueline is fantastic, she has handled all of her storylines beautifully. TaintedRose: Not bad, but definitely overrated imo. Mr. Right: I’m looking forward to her return and I think recent months have shown that the writing was the problem for the character, rather than the acting. Jin: I thought she was awful during the Joey era but pretty good in the Lucy storyline also 20th 20: RITA SIMONS Average: 6.89 ![]() Highest Score: 10 (Planck) Lowest Score: 3 (McFudd) Character Average: 6.76 Character Result: 13th She's beaten big sister by 13 places here. This is a seriously good performance from Rita Simons. Yes, I'd love to see more of her, but what we do see is usually good. As a few have mentioned though, she does have a tendency to revert to shouting at any given moment, a bit like Mimi Keene. However, I think this position is well deserved, and she is the first entrant into the Top 20. TaintedRose: She gave me chills at New Year. I only wish the writing would showcase Rita’s natural talent. holly: the character hasn't done much in terms of big storylines but she's a great actress in terms of her background storylines Mitchells 42: Like some others, always reliable for a good performance when needed. Clearly not going anywhere soon. See You Slater: I prefer Rita over Sam Womack, it’s a shame she only ever gets comedy plots. King Billy: Please can she have a different storyline? Zachary: I love Rita, she's great! Blades' Receptionist: Rita is a very good actress, it's a shame Roxy isn't treated well as a character. Shamelessness: EE's Fred Elliot, I can't stand the way she shouts and repeats - SHOUTS AND REPEATS - lines for emphasis. *Betty*: Has really grown as an actress, I always feel connected with Roxy Mr. Right: Why is this girl wasted on love affairs? She had potential but she’s been wasted since Sean left. Jin: I like her. MrJames: It's the age old problem: Is Rita actually just as good as Samantha? They're obviously very different actresses playing very different characters, Sam has a pre-existing reputation and got the bigger storylines in the early days. Over the years, I think they've evened out a lot more. Mrs Peel: Good at playing Roxy. MrSunshine: Shouts. A lot. But she's loyal to the show and can be good. 2012 was her best period. I'm very happy with Rita's score. She is very good with the every day stuff and always seems to have good chemistry with the existing characters in the show. I do, however, find her to be quite inconsistent when it comes to the dramatic material which most likely explains why she remains as a supporting character. I wish they would break Roxy away from her association with Ronnie. As a character I do think she has the potential to be so much more than Ronnie's sidekick.
