Lindsey and Adam should be top two IMO.

Jay's barely been on screen for two months, when that happens it's down to one of two things; 1) the character is being shoved to one side or 2) the character/actor is having a break before a hectic schedule I'm genuinely starting to believe that it may be the latter. As much as I'd hate it, the fact that Lola's storyline is also supposed to be "massive" for Jay I get the feeling whatever happens may lead to a much bigger story for him. I'd like Gavin to get him involved in something. With Ben getting his mother back, I can see Jay becoming more isolated within the Mitchell's and I think Gavin could be someone who would recognize and take advantage of that Or he'll just end up back with Abi. (I know this isn't really the right place for this. Sorry. I just get carried away with my Jay storyline headcanons) |

Quite surprised how many people think Nitin shouldn't really be in top 15, he'd be in my personal top 5. But then again acting is subjective. How I think the top 5 will be: 1. Lindsey Coulson 2.Lacey Turner 3. Linda Henry 4. Jake Wood 5. Adam Woodyatt |

A Mitchell tie! 14th 14: JAMIE BORTHWICK Average: 7.69 ![]() Highest Score: 10 (Mitchells 42, Mr. Right, Blades' Receptionist, See You Slater) Lowest Score: 3 (holly) Character Average: 6.21 Character Result: 17th Okay so it looks like pretty much all of you love Jay and want more for him to do. I agree! Jamie Borthwick has proved himself to be a talented, dependable young actor. I think he's better than any of the younger cast, with the exception of Mimi Keene. I see him, Mimi and Lorna as the show's future. I'm sure he'd be happy to stay, he loves the show, remember how he aced the EastEnders MasterMind in Backstage Live? If TPTB have any sense they'll recognise his talents and have him tied to a long term deal. Have we ever felt disappointed with a Jamie Borthwick scene? Doubt it. MrJames: GIVE. THE BOY. A STORYLINE. So much untapped potential - if they give him something now, there will be no stopping him in future. Gangstress: Underused and underrated. weewoman: just give him some meaty storylines and we might see a 10 crop up See You Slater: A serious contender for my eleven. He is so underused on the program, it’s a disgrace. Just because he doesn’t have a six pack like David Witts or Ben Hardy he doesn’t get the material thrown at him very often – but when he does, he shines. MrSunshine: Easily the best young male on the show. He stole the Heather murder saga for me. That scene on the couch with Billy stays with me. Shocking he isn't given more to do. TaintedRose: By far the most underrated actor on the show. Give him a storyline for crying out loud! Mr. Right: This man has a raw talent for acting which is evident whenever he does get decent material. He’s got a great comic timing. *Betty*: Jamie is my favorite younger actor on the show. He nails everything he is given. And deserves so much more. He makes Jay so real. You can also tell how much he loves the show and character as he puts such an effort into every scene. Mitchells 42: Could've been my 11 but I could never have justified robbing it from a certain someone. Fantastic actor who we've watched develop and grow from a young age. Give this boy a major story. Katie: I thought he was excellent as soon as he arrived, and I still think that, I just wish he'd get a big storyline. Mrs Peel: Most underused actor on the programme. Give him a storyline, PLEASE! King Billy: Consistent. Needs better material. Zachary: Very underused, Jamie has real potential. Blades' Receptionist: Jamie is criminally underused but I will always remember the aftermath of Heather's death being about Jay, not Ben or Phil. Jamie was incredible. TPTB need to give him a storyline! eastend90: Needs more storylines and fast. Shamelessness: a really strong performer who we've had the pleasure of watching grow even better as he's got older, I'm just waiting for him to have his huge Lacey Turner style 'moment'. Cam: One of the stronger teen cast 14th 14: LETITIA DEAN Average: 7.69 ![]() Highest Score: 10 (Mitchells 42, Jade) Lowest Score: 5 (Elle, WalfordCommon, See You Slater) Character Average: 8.81 Character Result: 1st This may appear a bad result, especially when she won the character rate, but when you remember how much stick Letitia seems to get on here, I think this is a pretty solid performance. Okay so she might not be the very strongest actor on the show, but then again, 53 of them aren't. She knows her character inside out and I don't think we've ever seen a particularly bad performance from her, have we? She's an icon - don't forget that. Mitchells 42: Great as Sharon, hope she's back forever now. Jin: I struggled with this as I didn't think Letitia was considered a bad actress until i started reading this forum. I love the character but want to be fair too. And after thinking it over I have to say she moved me so much when Dennis was killed and when Den came back from the dead. They are my favourite performances ever in soap. Her reaction to Den's return was beautifully played - emotional but not too histrionic. Joy/disgust/anger/shock/anxiety and despair in just a few facial expressions. I think sadly she's lost some of that subtlety and doesn't always engage with the material since her return and can come off hammy. The exceptions have been her attack storyline and the Phelps episode and the recent Gordon storyline - it feels like the old relish for the part comes back. Feel free to shout me down but in my eyes she's a 9. I also liked her acting in The Hello Girls and Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married. Cam: I love Sharon. Letitia isn't the strongest though, but definitely not weak by any means. MrSunshine: She knows her character very well but the character has dated and struggles to feel believeable as a 21st century, supposedly independant businesswoman. A good crier doesn't make a great actor. Elle: Sometimes she can be fantastic, but other times she can come across as too panto. Good actress but not consistently good. Mrs Peel: Brilliant at playing Sharon, but only when the writer penning the script understands the character Zachary: Letitia is great! Mr. Right: I LOVE SHARON. I LOVE LETITIA. But she’s not a great actress. However, I think the OTT campness and fabulousness works so well for the character. Shamelessness: she's massively camp but she knows it, brings something special to the Mitchells Blades' Receptionist: she's very good and I like what she does with Sharon. MrJames: The thing about Tish is, she knows her character very well. If she doesn't believe the material she is playing then it will show in her performance. But when both the writing and herself are on form, she absolutely sizzles. The campness of her character is definitely enhanced by the campness of Letitia, that's for certain. TaintedRose: She’s wonderfully camp and I adore her. See You Slater: I love Sharon but let’s be honest Letitia would struggle getting a job anywhere that wasn’t theatre. Katie: I think she's a bit inconsistent, but I never think she's bad, and when she's good she's very good. *Betty*: Letitia isn't award winning material. But she is Sharon. She plays that role so well, she has had so many defining moments down to her performance and her camp little touches to Sharon, mean that I never feel like she is off. |

Both have done very well to get where they are, for different reasons. Okay so my top ten prediction, in no particular order: Steve, Adam, Diane, Lindsey, Lacey, Jake, Rudolph, Linda, Jessie, Ann. Nitin at 13, Laurie at 12 and Kellie at 11. |

That's actually how I think it should be with Lindsey Coulson no. 1. I'm not sure how I'd personally place 2 - 10. An unpopular opinion but I find Nitin a bit hammy at times. |

The problem is that she's so seamless that she becomes sort of invisible. I don't even see Rakhee I just see Shabnam. |

13th 13: NITIN GANATRA Average: 7.86 ![]() Highest Score: 10 (Katedahlia, Jack1997, Cam) Lowest Score: 5 (Gangstress, See You Slater) Character Average: 5.85 Character Result: 21st A very good result for Nitin here. He seems to be largely popular on here, with a few saying that he shouldn't be this high. I've always liked his acting style, he seems very believable to me. And he's managed to finish ahead of actors with way more screen time than him, so he is obviously doing a good job when he gets his chance. I think he's been excellent recently, even though I am annoyed with the character. He and Rakhee work brilliantly together. See You Slater Overrated. Blades' Receptionist: He's great and brilliant at the dramatic scenes. MrSunshine: Has his moments but tends to shout all his lines in attempts to be dramatic. It just comes across as false. Elle: Fantastic actor. MrJames: His character annoys me, but Nitin knows how to switch it ON. TaintedRose: I don’t even know why, but he just never clicks for me. Mr. Right: He does well with dramatic material but I feel that his everyday stuff is very bland and drags him down. Zachary: Nitin has impressed me a lot with the Shabnam baby storyline. Mitchells 42: Like Fenwick, has been with the show for a while and can be depended on to deliver the good when needed. Mrs Peel: One of the best actors on the show. Glad he's being acknowledged now *Betty*: Another solid actor, I feel like he can be the samey in dramatic scenes but that can also be due to the writing. Stronger at the comedy that he is rarely given anymore. holly: love masood, he can do such a range of emotions, looking forward to the upcoming masood storylines Cam: Can do comedy and drama, a personal favourite but like Perry he rarely has a chance to prove it. weewoman: I love how he uses facial expressions that are not totally what you expect, it adds very much to making Masood the awkward person that he is. King Billy: Gone off his character a bit, but Nitin always performs. Jin: Good, occasionally hammy when he shouts but good 12th 12: JESSIE WALLACE Average: 8.14 ![]() Highest Score: 11 (Jin, Allegra, NevermindMe) 10 (Mitchells 42, Daniel68, lennon, MrSunshine, Blades' Receptionist, WalfordCommon) Lowest Score: 3 (Cam) Character Average: 6.89 Character Result: 10th Here's another of my favourites who would almost certainly have made my top ten. Jessie Wallace is a fantastic actress, and her partnership with Shane Richie has been amazing down the years. She has a brilliant range and has made Kat so many different people since she joined EastEnders. She's an actress who is just brilliant at the gritty stuff. The convent episode a few months back blew me away - one of my favourite ever EastEnders performances. You could tell she loved shooting that. I really, really hope her and Shane come back soon. If they don't, then they'll both have plenty of job offers from elsewhere. See You Slater: She phones it in far too often for my liking. Mr. Right: Her delivery of “I didn’t just become a little bit of a slag… I became a total slag” will go down in history. Allegra: Compelling. She is both a great actress and a great soap actress. For me the golden era Kat is still the benchmark leading lady of a modern soap and I don't think any other actress could have portrayed her better. Drama, melodrama, tragedy, romance, comedy she has done it all as Kat and done it all brilliantly. Can be stunning when handling some very dark and complex material but also has superb comic timing. An excellent actress with natural charisma. Brilliant in other roles too and should probably have a BAFTA. MrJames: So clearly near a 10, but she just gets a bit too complacent. Blades' Receptionist: Jessie is incredible. The rawness she plays Kat with is brilliant. Mrs Peel: Good, but not as great as people make out Jin: JW is a strange one. When she's bored with the material it shows and she can come accross a bit hammy. But her acting in her signature storyline was second to none and she was amazing in The Road to Corrie. The nun episode was the best thing she's done in ages. I think she's wasted on EE and should go off and do something else where she doesnt have to recycle the same old material. I think she's better than Linda Henry as Linda, good as she is, always plays a certain type. Jessie is the only actor I know on here who has shown complete versatility. Cam: Phones it in, only there for the pay check. MrSunshine: Funny and fragile. Vile and strong. Jessie can do it all. She can be big and she can be small but she's always Kat. She knows this character inside and out and like Steve McFadden she isn't afraid to take her character to dark places. When Kat's unlikeable it's because she's supposed to be. TaintedRose: She can be on and off. When she’s good, she’s amazing, but she’s not always good imho. *Betty*: I have seen lazy performances from Jessie, especially in the last few years. The botox has also reduced her from a 10 but when she gets Kat on point, she really, really nails it. Mitchells 42: Perfect as Kat. 11th Narrowly missing out on the Top 10 11: LAURIE BRETT Average: 8.58 ![]() Highest Score: 11 (Jack1997) 10 (Daniel68, Cam, Planck, TellyAddict, weewoman, Zachary) Lowest Score: 6 (Cupcake, WalfordCommon) Character Average: 5.31 Character Result: 31st This woman is one of my favourite actresses not just in EastEnders, but in television. I loved her during her first stint in EE, and then she went and pretty much owned Waterloo Road for two and a half series. Now she's back and better than ever, with Jane at the centre of many things. I just love her. She was unbelievable during Live Week, in particular the Friday episode. I could so easily have given her my 11 if it wasn't for so many other great actors and actresses. I hope Laurie is here for a very, very long time. Mitchells 42: Amazed me in the live episodes. I always felt she was so-so before but clearly the material was just not bringing out her potential King Billy: Don't mind her at all. Mr. Right: I may hate the character of Jane but there’s no denying that Laurie is a gifted actress who really shone in Live Week. holly: was amazing during live week, my estimation of her really increased from then *Betty*: Laurie has really proved herself, away from the show in Waterloo Road and in the past year on EE. Jane can be cold one minute and loving and warm the next. Laurie has clearly relished the bigger material, and she's made Jane stamp on EE history this year. MrJames: The live week Queen. See You Slater: I’ve never been a fan of Laurie’s acting. Sometimes her Scottish accent can be heard, but she played a blinder during Live Week so I’ve given her some extra marks for that. Cam: Hate Jane but I think Laurie is incredible. My overall highlight of Live Week. Planck: Has been brilliant in her latest stint despite being a horrific character. weewoman: hate Jane, love Laurie. Blades' Receptionist: She is very good and a great partner for Adam Woodyatt to bounce off. MrSunshine: Good, not great. Jin: Great in Live Week, always consistent Shamelessness: Excelled during Live Week. Zachary: Absolutely fantastic, Laurie is so watchable and her acting is incredible. TaintedRose: She’s wonderful. Always has been. Mrs Peel: Tour-de-force on her return. Jane always had the potential to be a right bitch, but there was a sympathetic side to her, in that Ian basically treated her like a skivvy. She's full-on sociopath now. Laurie Brett is doing a singular job, but the character now has a shelf life. |
