Really disappointed about Jessie, she'd be in my top 5 easily. I have to admit I'm not surprised though as I sensed she's maybe not rated as highly on this forum as perhaps she is generally. The top 10 wouldn't be mine but its still a very good one. Edited by WalfordCommon, 5 Jul 2015, 23:10.

Pleasantly surprised that Kellie has made it into the top ten! It's very deserved though. She's been phenomenal from the off. |

I prefer Kellie to Danny as people. I think Linda is a better character. But I actually think Linda's acting can be really atrocious at times and Danny is the better actor by a fair bit. I would rate him as the strongest Carter actor now Tim West has gone. I wouldn't have had Kellie top 10 at all. |

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism". | |

I do personally think Jessie should definitely be in the top 10 based on talent but reading her comments it seems like she was marked down on attitude rather than ability. I say this sadly but it makes me think maybe her departure is for the best. She's such a talent, and as people pointed out has so much range and versatility, perhaps the time has come to make a final break from Kat and spread her wings? |

Jessie Wallace hasn't been near as good as she was during her first stint. A lot of this is down to bad writing, and writers not "getting" the character, but a fair amount has to rest with the actor as well. Letitia Dean had the same problem when she returned. The writers put her amongst the Brannings and had her doing things Sharon would never have done in a million years. Yet most of those writers are still with the programme, and we have a different EP, who - fortunately - understood the character of Sharon. I'm sorry, but I don't think the storylines meted Wallace and Richie this year were Class A storylines. I think the couple suffered from not being in the pub, and I think they both suffered from the fire storyline and everything afterward. They only just got back to the level of where they were at their height during their first stint, after the lottery win, which gave out the impression that it was the money which reunited Alfie and Kat. The last time, Alfie and Kat could only be happy by leaving the Square. It seems as if this is a mirrored end. |

I think it could go anywhere from here, but if I had to guess... Lindsay and Adam will be the top 2. Diane and Linda top 5. Kellie and Steve will be the next to go. How I think it'll go: 10. Kellie Bright 9. Steve McFadden 8. Ann Mitchell 7. Jake Wood 6. Lacey Turner 5. Rudolph Walker 4. Diane Parish 3. Linda Henry 2. Adam Woodyatt 1. Lindsey Coulson I think the top 4 is set in stone, but you could argue the order being in any order and you'd have no complaints. It's a very strong top 10 and arguably Kellie would deserve higher than 10th, but ahead of who?! |

I hope McFadden, Wood and Lindsay are the top 3, but of all the contenders left I think they all stand a fair shot. Bit miffed about Ann Mitchell though. She's good, but I didn't think she'd do this well. |

McFadden got my 11 so I hope he's high up the top ten. Can't see him getting 1st though. I imagine a female top 3. |

LET THE TOP TEN COMMENCE 10th 10: KELLIE BRIGHT Average: 8.78 ![]() Highest Score: 11 (Katedahlia) 10 (Mitchells 42, Mr. Right, Solar1808, TellyAddict, King Billy, Blades' Receptionist, See You Slater, Blokeoptimistic, Katie) Lowest Score: 6 (holly) Character Average: 7.23 Character Result: 7th I've fallen in love with this actress. She's been my favourite of the Carter arrivals since day one, and has made the character her own so well. The thing about Kellie Bright is that she's bloody brilliant at big stuff, but she's also excellent at the small, everyday scene. She's made me feel so many emotions towards Linda and she's only been here two minutes. I think she's totally outdone Danny Dyer so far and I have every confidence that she will continue to do so - I hope that Kellie Bright stays at EastEnders for years and years to come. She's a future legend. And perhaps most importantly, she's the one Carter who always seems to avoid criticism. Rightfully. Mrs Peel: Totally sympathetic character. She's one Carter of whom we don't see enough. Worthy successor to Angie and Peggy behind the bar Allegra: Kellie Bright strikes me as a clever actress. I think she has a strong sense of what she wants to do with Linda. Blades' Receptionist: An incredible actress who can do both comedy and drama brilliantly. Mr. Right: The best actress to join the show in recent years. Immensely talented. TaintedRose: She’s fantastic, the saving grace of this rape storyline. Cam: Not as amazing as many people make out (imo) but definitely great. MrJames: She was amazing during the rape storyline, obviously, but I actually have more to say about her work before that. I haven't been so impressed with the work that an actor has put into a character on EastEnders in a very long time. She always delivers such a nuanced, complex and detailed performances and displays herself Shamelessness: completely deserved her award for dramatic performance, but can easily turn her hand at comedy as well. An asset to the show and possible future icon. She gives me Anita Dobson vibes. *Betty*: I think Kellie is a great character actress. She was great during the rape story, but in the big scenes she sometimes has limitations where it not longer feels like your watching a character but watching an actress act. Mitchells 42: She is Linda Carter. Katie: By far the best actor out of the current Carters. holly: her rape storyline started of well, but I think her acting of it tailed off somewhere after Christmas and it doesn't seem as amazing now King Billy: Fantastic in what she's faced so far. Jin: A bit ropy at the start (that scene where she cried over Lee was awful) but great in the scenes where she was attacked. See You Slater: The star of the rape storyline. Her portrayal as a rape victim has been harrowing, if the story had been about her it would have been one of the shows very best ever. Such a shame her work has been sidelined for silly twists. MrSunshine: Excellent actress but overexposure can make any character stale. Needs to be used sparingly so we don't get sick of her too soon. Zachary: Kellie did a great job with the rape storyline, and she was incredible when she was giving birth. 9th 9: ANN MITCHELL Average: 8.81 ![]() Highest Score: 10 (Daniel68, Mr. Right, MrJames, Cam, Planck, Elle, Jin, TellyAddict, MrSunshine, weewoman, *Betty*, Zachary, Blokeoptimistic) Lowest Score: 5 (See You Slater, Katie) Character Average: 7.13 Character Result: 8th Flawless actress. Has never put a foot wrong in EastEnders. I think she's been one of the understated stars of the year so far. The episode where she broke down in the kitchen over Stan's loss of memory was unreal, as was her anger at the Carters for not telling her Stan had died. Another of my favourite Ann Mitchell performances was the whole prostitute saga last summer. She was awesome in confronting Mick, and awesome in letting Rainie back in her life, only to be let down. I'm SO pleased that she's made the top ten, it's richly deserved. And I'm SO pleased that she's back. Homeless Cora will be another chance for Mitchell to justify her 9th place positioning. Not that she needs to. *Betty*: Cora may not always been the most enjoyable viewing, but Ann is something else, and makes it look so effortless. MrSunshine: The best older character on the show played by a terrific actress. Shocking that she's not had more to do as she could be a legend in the making, the likes of not seen since Peggy Mitchell. Zachary: Love Ann, she is fantastic and I'm sad she left. (Fear no longer!) Mr. Right: An actress of Ann’s calibre deserves so much better than the likes of Khali Best. Glad that she’s been given more to do. Mitchells 42: Embodies Cora fantastically. A true asset Blades' Receptionist: She's excellent. Mrs Peel: Cora, come home. Gives a MasterClass in acting every time she's on the screen. DTC was her godsend. Jin: Great. MrJames: You forget just how good she is until she swoops in and knocks you over the head with her amazing talent. He work in the lead up to Stan's death was phenomenal. weewoman: She really makes me glued to the screen TaintedRose: I loathe Cora, but there’s no denying that Ann can act.
