6th 6: STEVE MCFADDEN Average: 9.19 ![]() Highest Score: 11 (Cam, Katie) 10 (Mitchells 42, Mr. Right, WalfordE20, Planck, Elle, Cupcake, TellyAddict, MrSunshine, Jade, TaintedRose, McFudd, Blokeoptimistic, Sey, NevermindMe) Lowest Score: 7 (Katedahlia) Character Average: 6.89 Character Result: 10th A truly tremendous actor. I do feel that 'legend' is a word that gets chucked about freely these days, not just in TV but in sport and music as well. However, Steve McFadden is 100% an EastEnders legend. This is an actor who to casual fans, might not seem all that great, but for those of us who have seen him for so long, we know just how good he is. A lot of his performances are understated. Take for example the New Year's Day episode when it looked like Ronnie was going to die. There was Rita Simons screaming and Declan Bennett shouting. Both of these two were tremendous, but they were well outdone by Steve, who barely made any noise, but conveyed his emotions to a tee. The only disappointing thing was Ronnie waking up... Anyway, I can't wait to see Phil's involvement in the Kathy storyline, it should give Steve some really great scenes with Adam, Harry and Letitia. Should be great to watch. Yes, definitely a legend. King Billy: The veteran of the piece and still one of my favourites. Katie: I can't remember him ever giving a bad performance, regardless of the type of storyline and how we're supposed to feel about Phil at the time. See You Slater: Steve can do comedy scenes very well, I bet he has a very wicked sense of humour. He also has fantastic chemistry with Tish. His hard man acting is getting old, though. MrSunshine: Fantastic actor. When he isn't good it gets a mention as it's so surprising. He's done it all on the show and yet can probably do more. Phil is a layered character and he seems responsible for making him so complex. He has been overexposed less so since DTC took over and it's helped make Phil more bearable at times. But when Phil's unbearable it's because Steve's doing an excellent job of exploring his character's unpleasant sides. Brave actor. weewoman: Good actor, needs better writing or he could phone it in. Blades' Receptionist: He's great. Cam: Best actor on the show hands down. One minute I hate Phil's guts and the next I can be feeling sorry for him. Steve is a league of his own. Elle: Criminally underrated actor, consistently good, one of the shows strongest actors. MrJames: Appropriately similar to Lindy Henry in a lot of way in the way that he times everything to the second so that his performances can have the biggest effect... it's like singing a song - Steve hits all the right notes. TaintedRose: His range is just incredible. I can’t think of one instance where he’s been bad. Mrs Peel: When the script is there, he delivers Mitchells 42: He just is Phil Mitchell. Perfection. Zachary: Legend. *Betty*: Reliable and always raises the bar when challenged. Can be predictable though. Plays a fantastic drunk. Mr. Right: Hands down, one of the best actors on television. 5th 5: RUDOLPH WALKER Average: 9.42 ![]() Highest Score: 10 (Mitchells 42, Mr. Right, MrJames, holly, WalfordE20, Solar1808, Mrs Peel, Cam, Planck, lennon, Elle, Cupcake, Jin, TellyAddict, MrSunshine, Jade, ThingsDie, *Betty*, TaintedRose, King Billy, Blokeoptimistic, NevermindMe, Katie) Lowest Score: 8 (Daniel68, weewoman, Zachary, Blades' Receptionist, See You Slater, Shamelessness, Allegra, eastend90) Character Average: 7.61 Character Result: 5th What a result this is. 5th place for someone who barely gets any time at the front of the show. Rudolph Walker is clearly an extremely popular actor on here, as demonstrated by his scores. Just look at all those tens!!! And his lowest score was eight, one of those coming from myself. This means that every single score he got was 10, 9 or 8. There was one point where he looked like he could win this, but then quite a few 9s and 8s came in. What really cost him was not getting a single 11. Still, what an awesome performance here. Well done Rudolph, we'd all love to see more of you. Mitchells 42: Has been amazing as Patrick for over a decade, not to mention his portrayal of a stroke victim. Phenomenal. Zachary: He tackled the stroke storyline so well, Rudolph is a great actor. King Billy: His acting during the stroke storyline has been perfect. Mr. Right: His commitment to the stroke storyline speaks volumes. Incredible. Allegra: Rudolph Walker is a class act. He is doing a fine, fine job portraying a stroke victim. Katie: I've always thought he was a bit underrated due to not having many big storylines, and I think he's been excellent recently. *Betty*: Flawless, flawless performer. The stroke storyline and Paul's death as just acting masterclasses. MrSunshine: So believable with a small but very difficult part to play. His stroke story could have seen him stretch his acting muscles to extraordinary heights but sadly he wasn't given the chance. Every seen he's in is an acting masterclass. Why he isn't used more is beyond comprehension. TaintedRose: His dedication to the stroke storyline has been incredible. Find me one other actor who’d be as subtle and perfect, I dare you. Blades' Receptionist: A wonderful actor. See You Slater: The stroke storyline has been fantastic (well, what we’ve seen of it.) Mrs Peel: Best male character on the show holly: impressed with his performance after the stroke, his acting is consistently good to watch MrJames: Absolutely stunning commitment to the stroke storyline. Jin: Brilliant. Made me cry in the stroke scenes. |

I really think Steve McFadden deserved the top 5, as did Diane Parish! I actually think both of them are better than Lacey Turner. But of the four left - my personal rating would be: 4: Lacey Turner 3:Adam Woodyatt 2/1: Lindsey Coulson/Linda Henry - I can't pick between the two. They are two of the best actresses, if not the best actresses, in the show. Lindsey and Linda being in top 4 is brilliant, they deserve it. I hope they both reach top 2. |

In 4th Just missing out on the top 3 4: LACEY TURNER Average: 9.50 ![]() Highest Score: 11 (Mr. Right, See You Slater, McFudd, Blokeoptimistic) 10 (Mitchells 42, MrJames, WalfordE20, Cam, Planck, lennon, Cupcake, TellyAddict, MrSunshine, Jade, *Betty*, TaintedRose, Zachary, King Billy, Jack1997, Blades' Receptionist, Shamelessness, NevermindMe, Katie) Lowest Score: 7 (holly, Allegra) Character Average: 8.35 Character Result: 2nd A truly great actress. I've warmed to her so much over the last couple of months and whilst I still find her to be a little over-rated, she's improving in my estimations at a really rapid rate. I've never liked Stacey and I still don't, but the actress is superb. To average 9.5 is really brilliant. She's owned this week and so many others. I hope that I can begin to like Stacey as a character soon, because this is an actress who I really admire. I don't know where she'd be on my personal list, probably not as high as this and maybe not even the top ten but I really do see why she's done so well here. She knows her character so well. I love her little mannerisms and subtle expressions that Lacey adds in, it just makes everything that bit more believable. Top class actress. TaintedRose: She hasn’t had a whole lot to do, but I’m hoping that will soon change. Stacey has been one of my favourite characters for as long as I can remember, and a lot of that is down to Lacey’s undeniable talent. See You Slater: Lacey is without a doubt my favourite actress EVER, not just in the show. I just love her. She is actually very well spoken in real life, which you may not think when listening to Stacey. Take note Annette Badland, this is how you do an accent! Lacey has made me laugh and made me cry so many times, it’s unreal. She just lights up the screen. She is such a versatile actress, she can nail the big, hard hitting scenes such as the ‘I’m normal’ episode, she can do comedy but she can also do those normal every day scenes that make the characters feel real. Her portrayal of Stacey the extra last year was just brilliant. I loved the way she would just casually pop into someone else’s scene and completely steal it. AND SHE CAN PERFORM LIVE IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE OF MILLIONS WITH NO VOICE! Fantastic. The best thing about the show in my opinion. King Billy: Will never get bored of her. *Betty*: Lacey makes Stacey normal, I connect with her on every level. Her bipolar breakdown is still some of the best TV I've ever watched. Katie: I've thought she was excellent from the moment she arrived. Mr. Right: Just phenomenal. Lacey can do anything, she has chemistry with everyone. Stacey’s success is hands down a result of Lacey’s portrayal. I love her. Zachary: Queen! Lacey is fantastic. Blades' Receptionist: A brilliant actress who can play understated so well and then really knock it out of the park when she needs too. Mitchells 42: What else is there to say? Mrs Peel: Most improved character ever Jin: I have to confess I thought her very over rated on her first stint - I just couldnt connect with the character or the acting the way others could and felt she was the same in Our Girl but Im starting to enjoy her little expressions this time round. MrSunshine: Stacey being sectioned. Look no further. Easily one of the best acting performances in that episode alone the show has ever seen. Wasted in love triangles. The character has matured. It should be kept that way. Cam: Is an explanation really needed? MrJames: She gets a ten purely for the way that every scene she is in is made instantly better purely for the fact that she's in it. Lacey has such a natural, instinctive, magical, effortless quality. You forget how good she is and then she pulls something incredible out. I must watch Stacey's sectioning once a month and it takes my breath away every time. I know Lacey's range comes under question a bit, but I never really understand why when she's able to deliver performances like that. |

Gutted about that. She's the winner in my eyes. Love you Lacey. Maybe next year, eh? I hope Linda Henry doesn't win in case DTC checks the forum and thinks she's popular and we want more Shirley. |

I'm pleased that Adam, Linda and Lindsey are in the top three. I know some don't like Shirley but Linda Henry is a brilliant actress, and versatile. I think she deserves to be in the top 3. Others must too otherwise she wouldn't be there or have got high enough scores to get there. |
