Its surely coming close to her return to filming and I was just wondering what you all felt about it? For me I don't mind the character too much. There was a bit of that overhype of her especially from the BBC's YouTube channel where for the months leading up to the live week it was just videos of Lauren and not the other several thousand characters that made up 30 years of history. I'm also not looking forward with the EastEnders news on Google (which I frequently look at) being filled with more "Jacqueline Jossa poses with her baby on Twitter, Jacqueline Jossa dating such and such from such and such show, such and such's ex from such and such other show has been sounding off on Twitter" blah blah. But thats just the media and publicity. I really don't have too much of an issue for the character to return. |

I clicked on this thread thinking that a return date had been announced! I'm worried that she won't come back. Her character isn't on the present characters page of the EE website, there's been no mention of it, and her ending was a Julia's Theme, which seemed final. |

I'm not quite as anti-Lauren as I used to be, because the writing for her has improved immeasurably under DTC, and she has evolved from selfish brat to something approaching a functioning adult, but I just think Jac Jossa is a really bad actress. She doesn't emote, she gurns, and she does this weird pausey speaking that I find really distracting. I don't mind her in small doses, but I hope she's never moved front and centre again, like she was under Newman.

She'll be back. She's entitled to a years maternity so I expect she'll begin filming again before Christmas. |

Ian will have a new baby to obsess over. Lauren would be better off living with Tanya. |

I haven't missed her and never been keen on Lauren much, but she was slightly likeable before she left. I think if TPTB invested more in the characters of Whitney and Nancy (I rate both Actresses over Jac J personally) because I find them more relatable younger characters than Lauren, but I do get Lauren's popularity. I do like Jac J, but it's the character that grates on me. I think Jac J is an OK enough Actress, but is slightly overrated. I think Abi has been a revelation since Lauren left since they finally decided to let Abi have the spotlight after being in Lauren's shadow for too long and Lorna Fitzgerald has proved what she can truly do when given the right materlal to work with. I've always preferred Abi anyway and I hope they can find the right balance for the two sisters once Lauren returns, it's going to be interesting also when Max is away for a while, it should bring them closer hopefully. I still loved Abi's exploding rage at Lauren, that built up over the years and I think Lauren deserved everything she got. Abi is no angel either though and I know that, she's in for a big wake up call where Ben is concerned. I wonder if they'll hook her up with Jay again once Lola goes? |

I'm hopeful Lauren will return because she had really started coming into her own before the maternity leave but I don't think it's a certainty. I also noticed her character was removed from the present characters section of the official website yet Kat and Alfie are still listed and updated. That's obviously because of the spin off yet that won't be on screen for at least half a year so if Jacqueline Jossa was 100% returning I think she'd still be listed too. |

I'm torn. I really was loving Lauren throughout 2014 right up to her maternity leave, but her exit was rather perfect. I don't like the idea of her returning with the baby alone, when her going off with Peter was so perfect. Lauren, a new Peter and baby Beale though? Half of me wants that and half of me worries it would fail. Worth the risk though. |
| "I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver | |

Recast Peter and get him back with Lauren. If not, leave her in New Zealand until the time is right to recast Peter. |

After their exit Ben Hardy tweeted Jac Jossa to say "I might pop back to visit you and baby Beale" so I have no doubt she will be planning to return. I can't imagine Lauren leaving Max to rot in prison knowing it was Bobby who killed Lucy. Plus Jacqueline has a new baby and a recently unemployed fiancé to support, as well as a wedding to pay for, so I reckon she'll be back soon. |

Im doubting if Max is the one arrested cause that would surely drive Lauren straight back but she only left a few months ago and she's gonna be on Maternity for many more months. |

Apart from being the mother of an important legacy baby she doesn't bring much to the show, Max is leaving and Abi has found her place (for now?) at the Mitchell's. I say keep her in NZ until they can find a decent committed actor to play Peter. |

Lauren and Abi living together as they continue to grow into adults and beyond would be fantastic viewing. Who needs the Mitchell sisters? |

There's another legacy baby being born that puts the "Beale-Branning" baby into perspective. Baby Slater-Fowler is, arguably, the most important legacy baby since his/her father became the first baby born on the show. Baby Slater-Fowler represents the union of Old Walford with Millennial New Walford in a far bigger way than the Beale-Branning baby, by virtue of its parents alone. Martin was the first baby born on the show, and Stacey is easily a more iconic figure from 21st Century Walford than Lauren will ever be. |

A secret baby! And she knows Bobby's secret. And no doubt there will be a secret reason why she has split from Peter...
I do like the idea of a Peter/Lauren baby though, since we've seen them dating on-and-off since their early teens. Edited by Shamelessness, 12 Jul 2015, 11:24.

As long as she's kept away from more relationship storylines, I'm more than excited for Jossa to return! |
