I really hope this means Denise is going to be led into something big. It's a sin for an actress like Diane to be playing second fiddle to the likes of Kim and Vincent.
"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

I agree that Denise deserves something big, but tbh I prefer Kim over her.

Why do I get the feeling that Libby's news is that she is pregnant and Denise will become a grandmother? Perhaps I'm wrong (I hope so, given how many pregnancies we've had of late).

Strange that she's returning next month to celebrate her birthday when her birthday is 27th July (a week tomorrow)...

I know I was dreading a Libby/Tamwar/Nancy triangle!

She'll probably come home and announce she's pregnant and become embroiled in the above.

Ooh a love triangle and a pregnancy with a Carter involved, I think we know this is definately happening then...

Libby will announce she's pregnant, she'll bond with Kim over Pearl and have a heart to heart, Richard Blackwood will bulge his eyes, and Denise will stand on the sidelines playing second fiddle to everyone.

I'd like to see them have a scene though. Just to see Libby's "Dude what happened to you?" face.

Tamwar: Hello Libby. How are you?
Libby: Oh great. Finished uni and everything. How are you?
Tamwar: I'm a lowly and depressed market inspector because I couldn't be bothered to take out a loan to get into any of the thousands of great educational establishments who would have gladly taken someone with my testscores. Isn't throwing your potential away for no good reason awesome?
Libby: Uh... :ermm:

Did Tamwar used to like Libby?

The scary thing is, you can actually envisage this happening. It can't be anything more monumental, given it's only for two episodes. Unless it's something to do with Denise at the time of Lucy's murder.

Not very impressed with these recent returns: both Robbie and Libby are distinctly "meh". I suppose we have Kathy waiting in the wings.

I love Libby but what can possibly be her function? no superficial romance, surely, for the only academic that EE has ever produced.
Hopefully we will be treated to an interesting mother-daughter dynamic with Libby's return

I'm unsure what this two episode stint will do in the long run but it's nice that the character of Libby is coming back even for continuity purposes. It's a realistic return more than anything.

I was never struck by either of Denise's daughters, and two episodes of Libby is about all I can take.

I'd rather Libby over the atrocious Chelsea, but I'm also glad it's only two episodes.

I would prefer to see Chelsea back but Libby is fine.

The Fox family was at its best with Denise, Chelsea and Libby.

Kim and Vincent are awful.

Surprised to see this news get such a lukewarm reception... I'm all for the added realism of such brief returns/visits. How unrealistic would it be if Libby were never to visit her mum again, especially with her living not that far away.

I don't know about that. I know she's a bit further away in the US but Michelle Fowler hasn't been home in 20 years and virtually her entire family has passed away in that time, including her parents.
