Spotted today at my local train station: Declan Bennett, Rita Simons and Samantha Janus were filming at Elstree and Borehamwood Station. They have been filming there pretty much all day. They shot one scene outside the station with Roxy trailing Charlie Cotton into the station. Both characters had luggage with them. At lunchtime, Roxy and Ronnie could be seen on the platform at Elstree. Ronnie was calling after Charlie; it sounded like they had "lost" him, though, as they refer to him being on another platform. Lots of BBC crew were around and they replaced the "Elstree and Borehamwood" station signs with "Dartford East". You should be able to see Rita Simons and Samantha Janus taking a break from filming on the station platform in the photo attached.

I genuinely keep forgetting any of them are on the show. |
| "I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver | |

There's a lot of rumours that Charlie is leaving soon. Maybe this is it? Must've been great to see them film

I really don't get why they're pretending to film in Dartford. Why couldn't they have just come here and filmed for real? I'd be on the first bus into town if they had come here! |

Looking at the pictures on Digital Spy, it looks like he takes Matthew with him... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a659823/eastenders-star-declan-bennett-to-leave-charlie-cotton-role.html#~pjh5ivoJoYwssu |

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a659823/eastenders-star-declan-bennett-to-leave-charlie-cotton-role.html I'm surprised he's lasted this long, he should've gone after Nick died. Characters linked to Nick Cotton or Dot by blood never last long anyway |

Yep Charlie's exit just confrimed-At least the merry go round between him, Ronnie and Roxy looks like it's about to end then-and that's yet another exit for September/October. |

As soon as the air of mystery about him faded, he became a dull, insipid character and this random love triangle has been very painful to watch. I'm surprised they've axed him though - he could have been good if there had been any sort of plan for him beyond faking Nick's death. I hope this heralds the return of Darth Ronnie. |

I wish all three left together. The Mitchell unit is so much stronger without the tired sistah act dragging them down. I think the episodes focusing on these two have been some of the poorest of the year. |

At last, Charlie is written out. He became more and more redundant as the latest object of exchange between the Mitchell sisters. |

Ah! I didn't spot Declan Bennett carrying the baby this morning. As I said, from the ensuing scene I saw shot on the platform, it looks as if Charlie leaves without Ronnie or Roxy because Ronnie runs on to the platform and shouts his name out, with Charlie nowhere to be seen. |

Get rid of Charlie and Ronnie, and focus on the marvellous Roxy. Problem sorted. |

It was quite amusing watching the BBC props people having to put up and take down the fake "Dartford East" station signs everytime a train pulled into Elstree station so as not to confuse actual passengers like myself! Reminds me of the time they used one of the houses on Eldon Avenue next to the set as Poppy's flat in what was meant to be Bethnal Green. |

Possibly because of all the transport problems on the roads and motorways in Kent at the moment. |

Didn't someone say awhile back that Declan Bennett finished filming in July? |

Really, as soon as he got seriously linked up with Ronnie and she nicked his balls, he lost his allure. |

Yes, that is a good point! It took me an hour to do a twenty minute journey from my house to Gravesend the other day. |

Shame Declan's leaving. If I was axing characters, Charlie and Lola wouldn't be top of my list. I'm guessing Ronnie will get Matthew back somehow - surely she can't lose a fourth child. It leaves Dot quite isolated again when she returns. At least it's the end of the awful love triangle though. I hope Roxy gets a decent storyline of her own soon. Screw the Autumn of Ronnie. |
