This is the week that Emmerdale are doing their major stunt. And EE are focusing on Vincent and the likes.

"I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver

Besides Carol, this sounds rather dull. I guess the unexpected friend is Shirley?

This is the week that Emmerdale are doing their major stunt. And EE are focusing on Vincent and the likes.
John Whittingdale and the Conservative government will be pleased, then: after all, the BBC isn't meant to be "chasing ratings" (conveniently forgetting that the Reithian vision of the BBC is to Inform, Educate AND Entertain).

Expect EastEnders to post a disappointingly low overnight rating for the Tuesday 4th episode, at the very least, which goes head to head with all-action blockbuster Emmerdale.

Perhaps the lowest ever rating even. The previous low was up against Emmerdale as well thought hat was when Emmerdale reached 8 million which even with the big stunt is unlikely. Plus it was a extremely hot Thursday which is always lower than Tuesdays.
I think its harder for the BBC to move on Tuesdays than it is Thursdays because of Holby City( and in Scotland I think River City airs at 8pm)

I suppose we can't complain too much about the likes of Vincent, Dean and Ronnie, given how well they've been sharing material between characters in the past month. And what a month it's been.

Having said that, I still sighed when I saw their names.

Yes, they can't move EastEnders on Tuesday 4th August, not only because of Holby at 8pm but also the new series of New Tricks starting at 9pm. Oh well. 4m figure here we come.

A month or so ago, seeing these spoilers would have made me feel gutted. But I'll let them off, given the fantastic material this month has given us so far.
Massive thanks to NickM for this wonderful signature! :)

I think we can let TPTB off since we've had a good month of spoilers-however i will say that the second half of the week on balance is the better than the first this week.I would also normally be the first to moan about a clash with an hour-long Emmerdale but since this is a highly anticipated disaster episode i'm letting them off this once.

The only thing that jumped out at me was the Vincent in danger thing but I feel that is going to just be some minor trouble which will be a catalyst for Kim wondering if he's cut out to be a dad again.

Oh and Carol turning to an unexpected source but not getting the reaction she was hoping for. Perhaps Sonia. And the unexpected reaction could be that she's actually nice. Or leaving.

So, predictably, the week of Libby's return heralds big things for... Kim and Vincent.

Diane Parish could win an Oscar and they'd probably still give her crumbs.
