I quite like the look of this week actually. I think they may be holding back some Mitchell stuff and it's good to see the Carters back to the forefront a bit (even if it involves horrid Tina). Shabs story... well, I can't really get interested until it actually happens. |

With all the excitement over Kathy's return, I'd forgotten about the ramsgate episodes. It's been so nice to have a break from the Carter's, I'm not overly fussed about these episodes but at at least it's a change of location for them. |

I should probably stick this in unpopular opinions but I don't really like any of Shabnam, Martin or Kush. I'm pleased Stacey's back though and I actually like Tamwar and Nancy together. Doesn't sound like an exciting week but hopefully will be solid. |

Thanks for posting these but the 2 I quoted seriously you cant make it up! The Carter recycling boring neverending same spoilers are old. I don't care if Mick and Shirley make up. I know that's what this rape storyline was really about but seriously boring. I think we are in double figures at least about how many spoilers are about Mick and Shirley making up. I know Linda was raped but its all about Shirley and her "sons dilemma" despite her raising neither or being a mum to neither but hey ho. I knew the Carters would get a break in the summer as I told someone he will do it when the soaps are not watched as much then shove them down our throats rest of the time. The break has been bliss. I actually find them better as B characters, its not like they haven't appeared they have but in the background or with a few shared stories like Nancy. Exception of Shirley but she is always shoved down everyone's throat and shoehorned in everywhere. Stacey and Martins dreary nomance pregnancy stuff I am dreading. I love Lacey but its like when Jack sucked the life out of Ronnie. Stacey does that to Martin. Both are so much more enjoyable apart and likeable. Edited by Jade, 13 Aug 2015, 11:01.

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism". | |

Well, one man's medicine is another man's poison, I suppose. FWIW, I've missed Mick and Linda. They've been mercilessly sidelined since Ollie's birth. And I don't think Shirley's been shoved down viewers' throats this summer. In fact, Dean aside -and that's this producer's big mistake - I like Shirley and Buster. Apart from helping Carol come to terms with her mastectomy - and I thought Shirley, who'd had a lump, was probably the best person to help Carol then - she's been, more or less, like Mick and Linda, a background character. The Carters no more deserve to be relegated to the background than Sharon does, and goodness knows, we've seen her enough as a background character. I do agree that the rape storyline has veered out of control and has been, really, since Christmas. It became all about the final fracturing of Mick's and Shirley's relationship with the rape reveal and the revelation that Mick was Shirley's son, and now it seems to be all about Dean's redemption through finding yet another long lost child. It shouldn't be about either. It should have been about Shirley finding out exactly how damaged her youngest son is, accepting what he'd done and then apologising to a woman she's bad-mouthed incessantly. Until that happens, Mick and Shirley need to fester, and Tina needs to stay out of this, and - like Dean - she needs to go. Shirley, with Buster, has reverted back to the snarky, likeable Shirley with the zingy one-liners who used to be well-liked. DTC needs to resolve the problem of Dean now, not later; and the added dimension of Jade, thus linking the Masoods to the Carters, should never have been created, Buster and Shirley, across the road; Mick, Linda and the kids in the pub ... that's what works. Anyway, I like the Carters in the pub. I never thought I'd like Danny Dyer, but he's been a revelation on the show. I hope he and Kellie Bright stay around awhile. |

The Carters deserve as much screen time as anyone else on the show, it's not Beale or MitchellEnders it's EastEnders. It's about time they are brought to the front again. |

The Carters dominated the show last year and the first half of this year. They shouldn't be back at the forefront soon. Shirley needs a long break IMO.

Shirley and the Carters have had an extended break and are continuing to do so until this particular week. Shirley can't have an extended break because you know, Linda Henry, does have a job an' all that. She, like the rest of us, need to work to survive. |

Shirley is at the top of the episode appearance count and she always had too much screentime. Phil, Ronnie, Roxy, Dot and Sharon are always disappearing for weeks/months. Shirley needs to be toned down more. They haven't had an extended break because they were still featuring in episodes. They are the highest paid actors
