It would be quite amusing / upsetting (delete as appropriate) if Gavin Sullivan is a good character on paper but transpired to be an appalling character on screen.

I don't want to appear as a killjoy but does every thread have to be about Gavin! The word game suddenly got very silly and off track! Personally I like the forum and whilst I appreciate people are entitled to write what they want (within reason of course), it will spoil the enjoyment for individuals who don't want to partake in the 'gavin' game!
To be truthful the Gavin thing can sometimes come across as a little annoying when the topic is unrelated to Gavin. However in all fairness this is a Gavin thread.

I'll say one thing about it.

If you want to do it, it's fine but please use it within reason and not everywhere. It is annoying for people who are trying to find discussion and opinion to have to wade through several pages worth of constant "Gavin" references. I don't want to see episode threads, for example, which are usually our best threads and there to throw out ideas about the episode and the show, turned into pages and pages worth of "GavinEnders" with very little discussion. I'm not trying to be a killjoy or stopping fun but I don't want it taking over the entire forum.

Not only will this make the forum seem cliquey to outsiders, it is quite off putting to those who don't want to be in this game.

So please try to use it in moderation and not constantly in every thread, dominating threads with it. I'm pleased you're all enjoying it and looking forward to the character arriving but we need to keep it in check.

Otherwise, I will have to set up a "Gavin" thread purely for playing the game in there.

Breaking character though, it is nice to see the forum come together in this wacky way.
I've only been around in some form or another for a few years now, but I do feel compelled to say that right now, this forum has the friendliest atmosphere I've ever known. I genuinely, genuinely love this little community.
Welcome to the Gavside.

Even Ennuii and the other mods are taking part. It's not as if discussions have stopped completely.

You are even talking like one of them. Danny Dyer would be proud.

I hope, when Gavin and his new bride Janine show up on Christmas Day, that we may refer to them as Gavanine.

I'm sorry but the mods should be impartial on here, and here in lies a real issue with this whole situation. It has got completely out of hand on numerous threads and the mods have done nothing to suppress it.

They are quick enough to ban members when they provoke a reaction but yet do nothing when the enjoyment of the site is ruined by a silly obsession.

You seriously need to lighten up. It's a bit of fun and it's only temporary.

I take offence at the fact someone who doesn't know me personally telling me to lighten up. My enjoyment of this site has been ruined by this pointless and unnecessary silliness. The mods should be dealing with it and representing Everyone not just a few on this site.

Why should I have to unsubscribe to something I enjoy? if you want a 'gavin' thread then generate one, but don't ruin every other thread by mentioning and posting pointless 'gavin' references.
