Personally, I don't feel that there's any particular "fawning" over Stacey/Lacey Turner on the boards. There has been plenty of criticism of the writing for Stacey over the last few months with the Kush stuff and the nature of her relationship with Martin. Lacey Turner receives praise but I don't think it's any more or less than what other main players like Lindsey Coulson or Steve McFadden get. It's always subjective but a well-acted scene usually gets its fair share of credit regardless of who is involved in it - Matt Di Angelo for example was praised in the aftermath of Dean finding out about Jade's condition, or at least I think it was those episodes. Heck, even some of the weaker cast members like Roger Sloman have gained something of a cult following on here (one which I'm more than happy to be a part of ).I don't want to see people leave the forums over a difference of opinion. People are more than entitled to have their favourite characters/actors, as well as their views on who is a better actor. Maybe take some time out but I think it would be a shame if you quit the boards for good Daniel. |

I would love it if Les Coker had a huge group of die-hard fans. We could have weekly meetings, wear Les masks and just scream "AAAAAAAAAAAAH!" at one another all day. |

Sey and I have long chats about how amazing Les is. He is so shit he is just amazingly good. I love him far more than Pam and never want him to leave. So he has a mini fan club. |

This needs to happen. If someone could also supply a coffin-shaped limo that would be just lovely. |

Yeah and feel a shred of sympathy or thought for those who like Shirley, who at times have to keep justifying themselves on here all the time because the character doesn't get on with you know who .

I have a Shirley fan eesarah (one of her various accounts) who sent me abusive PMs because I don't like Shirley. When I didn't answer from then now on when she sees a post either being rude or just disagreeing she likes it. Hilariously funny. |

Oh dear, is that a certain obsessed Phil/Shirley fan? I've known a few people who have had run ins with her. I've seen many "die hard" fans of soap characters giving out abuse to all and sundry if they don't like the character, it's insane. Never seen it on this forum though, which is good. Ah right, sorry to hear that Jade, obviously I don't condone that kind of behaviour. I think I know who you mean, although not sure if I have personally interacted on here, but know they got banned on DS (I only read that for spoilers LOL). It's just fiction at the end of the day, we all have opinions, but it's a shame a small minority whether debating the soaps on various forums or social media etc can't separate fiction from reality. |

This reminds me of footage I once watched from the late 1960s (obviously, I saw it many years after the event, not having been born back then.) A teenager was being interviewed. When asked why she loved the Rolling Stones, she replied "They're so damn ugly, they're attractive." Made me laugh at the time!

Surely we must be heading towards a breakdown. Maybe over Christmas? All this foreshaddowing, the key story comes out, Stacey is off her meds, pregnant and completely falls apart and Martin puts her back together again sealing their relationship. |

I don't understand the logic behind "axe her" as a response to "What would you do with Stacey?". Stacey is a rare breed of character in the sense that she's probably, alongside Kat, the closest the show has got to creating an icon in the 21st Century. We've seen her grow as a character over the years and she's had an incredible journey, she might not be at her most likeable right now but that's no fault of the character or actress: it's the writers. There's been hints of a loving relationship between Martin and Stacey - little things such as Martin recognising the dance routine from Lily's game, the round the table dinner scene the other evening. All of these things solidify Martin and Stacey as a good little unit. Stacey will thrive as a character again. Janine did so under BK, Kat did so under LN and most recently, Sharon has done so under DTC. |

The whole thing with Kush simply wasn't needed. It came out of nowhere - only a few weeks before this "obsession" commenced, she was encouraging Shabnam in her pursuit of Kush and ticking him off about her. She did something once that "reminded" Kush of his dead wife. So what? Kush has been using hid dead wife to score women since - well, since she died. Kush is a mamma's boy, whose mother recognised instantly that he wasn't up to the responsibility of being a father. If this storyline proceeds, this will be the third relationship Stacey's brought down. I think there's an analogy here. Martin is being presented as the thick, stupid one. Yet when Sonia got bored with marriage and waltzed off to be with Naomi, Martin took care of Rebecca. Kush is Mr Muscles here, but he'll eventually be the weak link. If he cannot deal with a stillbirth, how can he hope to deal with someone who has bi-polar syndrome? Martin, like Bradley, will pick up the pieces of the mess Stacey makes. |

I agree with most of this but I don't think there are any hints of a loving relationship between Martin and Stacey. Only Martin loving Stacey and Stacey treating him like crap. |

I don't think Martin loves her at all yet, if he did he wouldn't have told her to have an abortion. You don't tell that to someone you love even after you know they want this child. Stacey was at least mature enough to talk to him and give him a second chance to be a father even after he initially didn't want to be involved. |

Isn't that what Bradley did though? And he certainly loved Stacey. |

Just because you love someone it doesn't mean that automatically you want a family with them. |
