Anyone else want Mick and Shirley's relationship to progress? I feel like I've watched the same scene umpteen times since the mother/son reveal last Christmas: Tina tries to reunite them, Shirley scowls, Mick wants nothing to do with it, they get on for five minutes and the cycle starts again. Obviously dropping a bombshell as big as that last Christmas isn't going to solve itself overnight, but things need to move forward at some point. Also, I LOVE these two characters and ADORE watching Danny Dyer and Linda Henry scenes; to me it's very evident they enjoy working together. So what are your thoughts on Mick and Shirley....and what next...? |

Unpopular opinion time I have said this before and i will say it again-The only way they can have any kind of relationship and have the story move forward is if Dean goes (when he does finally get his comeuppance for the rape which looks like it won't be til next Easter at the rate things are going). At least the good news is through is that it looks like The Carters are about to be toned down and have some lighter scenes for the rest of this year at least. Edited by eastend90, 4 Sep 2015, 15:07.

... in what world is that an unpopular opinion? 'Fuck off Dean' is only second to 'fuck off Sonia'. Closely followed by 'fuck off Claudette'. |

Dean has to go. Otherwise, it's ever decreasing circles. |

The only way I want to it to progress is if Shirley discovers the truth and practically begs forgiveness to Mick and particularly Linda. I understand Shirley defending her son but she was completely vile towards Linda. I do feel that Shirley is ultimately better away from the 'core' Carters, even when they are on good terms she's still usually a frustrating cow. Her and Buster make an interesting couple and I love her one liners when she's involved with the Foxes/Hubbards. |

Subtract Dean. Keep Shirley out of the Vic with Buster. Explore her alcoholism. Bish bash bosh. |
