Denny is credited on Thursday 17th September but it appears that Harry Hickles is no longer playing Denny anymore. Denny is played by Bleu Landau. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06chmp0 Edited by McFudd, 7 Sep 2015, 09:12.

Interesting that this didn't get an announcement but when Amy was recast there was one. |

Oh boy I'm so ready for the moment where they just wink to the audience about Denny having a haircut.
Recasts of young kids don't tend to get an official announcement they just show up on the cast list. Outlets like Digital Spy will then ask Elstree for confirmation so they can make a small post about it. I expect they'll have a post up about this before long. He actually looks like Dennis and Sharon. http://www.starnow.com/bleulandau/ And another Kent cast member. That's Bobby, Lauren, Ben and now Dennis. |

Good now he is back. Hopefully see Sharon try to be a Mother again to Denny. I mean Roxy rightly gets slated for her parenting skills, so Sharon shouldn't be any different just because of her higher status in the show. |

It's not the characters' fault that we don't see them parenting on the main show. Harry Hickles was not available to play Denny on a frequent basis. We can't be expected to see everything onscreen. |

Instead of Sharon's mini-me. ![]() One thing worth noting about about this recast. It's another posh kid. Now obviously it's impossible to know who they saw and how good they were but I know Eastenders casting directors have complained about how hard it is to find working class child actors in the past. Make of that what you will... |

Actually, Sharon gets slated plenty for her parental skills. As did Bianca. As does Ian. Edited by Mrs Peel, 7 Sep 2015, 12:41.

Yep that was my first thought when I saw his name. Frankly nobody involved in casting on EastEnders has any right to complain about finding working class actors. They just need to be looking in the right places. |

As much as I liked Harry we didn't see him a lot towards the end, as Denny rarely appeared. Harry was cast because he looked similar to Letitia, I think Bleu looks like the perfect mixture of Sharon and Dennis. I just hope he's a good actor. Hopefully Denny will now be more involved in storyline's especially with the Gavin and Kathy stuff that is coming up. |

Denny appears out of the cupboard for his monthly appearance to stock up on biscuits; with a new head and probably a haircut. I wonder if the lack of Denny appearances was something to do with the child actor Harry Hickles. Maybe he lives super far away from the studios or something. |

Harry looked like Sharon. But I don't see how this new actor looks like Dennis or Sharon. Different eye colour, different hair colour says brown but he looks ginger to me certainly not like Nigel's hair, different face shape (but Harry and Letitia had heart shaped faces, Nigel's was nothing like that either) and neither had freckles. But that doesn't fuss me as long as he is a better actor. But I don't see the similarities at all. Looks perfect for a son of Bianca. Edited by Jade, 7 Sep 2015, 14:22.

Your approval is neither desired nor required. Julia Smith "We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories about homosexuality, rape, unemployment, racial prejudice, etc., in a believable context. Above all, we wanted realism". | |

Sharon probably won't even notice the difference! He will announce that he wants to be let out the cupboard more then once a month, thank Sharon for finally letting him get a haircut, and tell her he never wants to eat a biscuit ever again....Cue shocked Sharon face and New Denny's first duff duff! |

I'm sure that most casting directors would jump at the chance to scour local schools and am dram societies for potential (working class) talent. The problem is that they have to follow orders from above and the BBC only wants professional actors. It's a perfectly sensible policy in theory if not for the fact having an agent/stage school experience is just not affordable to a lot of people. Edited by The Local Butcher, 7 Sep 2015, 15:19.

I think he looks like a good combo of Dennis and Sharon personally but that aside fingers crossed for a good little actor that can handle some more difficult material. Looking forward to seeing how he works out. |
