I like that she knows Denny is a brat and she does discipline him now. When Whitney returned Denny home for ripping a kid's hearing aids out, Sharon was furious with him and we know she had words with him offscreen (when ian was waiting in the kitchen). Sharon knows she's not a good mother but like you said, she tries her best. Also Sharon had been a single mother for a long time and Denny needs a father figure but Phil is not a good role model

She is mollycoddling him to the point where she doesn't see his mistakes. Nobody is denying she doesn't love him but in order to be a good parent and for Denny to grow into a decent human being she needs more than to just "love" him. |

She's a lot better with them then she used to be. At least she now sees that's he's not perfect and does do things wrong and tells him off when she needs too. |

I don't see that, especially not when she's telling assistant teachers not to report his behaviour to her superiors. But each to their own I guess. |

I'd forgotten about that. Well apart from that! That was random as they storyline had finished ages ago. I think it was just because Ian was there and to make both Sharon and Ian realise neither of them had been the best parents. |

I would have thought he would have been a fat kid. Living his life in a cupboard with only biscuits and milk to live on..... Hopefully, as others above have said, Sharon has gotten over her molly coddling and is now turning him into a Watts. Loving Sharon at the moment, she is supporting those around her, without being judgmental but still taking charge of the situation. She just needs to sort Phil and her business now. |

I'm not sure they have a big enough budget to stretch to milk with all those biscuits.
