Why can't four families appear in an episode as opposed to it focusing on just one? Hasn't Matt Di Angelo only recently signed a new contract so I think he might be around until the middle of next year (1 year contract). I think it might tie in with Lee's depression. |

I'm not sure whether the new contract talk was from the original 1 year. He could have signed for a year (filming up until Feb this year) and then a 6-month one and then another one-year, or he was talking about signing a one-year one taking him up until Feb this year and now another one-year taking him until Feb next year. Who knows?! |

I was hoping that Shirley would 'expose' Dean but it looks as if mummies and sons are to be spared at all cost.

"New Year's Day is proper! It's all about the Carters." - Danny Dyer I hope this is a slight exaggeration. I'm not begrudging them importance, but I don't think a New Year's Day built entirely around the Carter family is the way to go. |

I think New Years will be about the Carters (in particular Dean) and Ronnie Mitchell. I think she might go into full scale lunatic mode. |

I am surprised if it is a Carter New Year, what with Kellie twirling the light fantastic. EastEnders will be filming these scenes around November and if Kellie is not a turkey, will be in Strictly right up to early December probably getting to the quarter finals. |

Who'll be taking centre stage on Christmas then? Who Killed Lucy? Mitchells? Stacey? Kathy? |

Probably the Beales and Mitchell's. I think Kathy will find out about Bobby and it's likely that Sharon finds out that Gavin is her biological father. |

Unless we get Sharon finding out about Gavin during Jeff Povey's ep's next month. |

I am hoping this will involve Shirley finding out about Dean. It is long overdue and without Deans exposure to Shirley, the story and Carters can't really progress. Having said that, I don't want Dean to attack Roxy or be killed by Ronnie. I'd rather it centered around Linda and Shirley. Linda because she is the victim and Shirley because she is his mother. I wonder why it has been forgotten that Dean attacked Shirley before... |

I hope Dean dies in the NYD episode and I hope either Mick or Shirley kills him. That would be quite fitting. I want Dean to leave ASAP. He is a vile disgusting man who should be locked up for what he did to Linda. Nevertheless I'm glad the Carters are back to "normal". "Normal" seems to be the wrong word because they can never get over what Dean did to Linda but they are no longer miserable anymore and Mick/Linda seems stronger than ever. |

No. If Mick or Shirley kill him that's it. No going back for them. I'd rather they were characters which can be salvaged and be kept on the programme for a long time coming. Let Ronnie kill him, she's got form already. |

I'm not sure on Ronnie killing him or being involved but if they decided to have him killed off, I would rather they didn't ruin Mick or Shirley in the process. It will be interesting to see Shirley's reaction to finding out the truth and how she would react if her son was killed. |

Can't Janine just ride back into the square in her car and finish Dean off (since she has form for running people over in her car). |

I don't want another Carl White situation. But, I wouldn't be against Ronnie being responsible for Dean's death in a less direct way. I found Ronnie at her most interesting last year when she returned from Ibiza, running the gym. It all felt very dangerous and dark. Like it could go anywhere. I think making Ronnie more of a puppeteer and leading Dean to his demise in a calculating and cold way is the direction they should go in. Right now, having Ronnie's life as one of two halves is the way to make her in any way entertaining again. I want her as an ice queen, running a ring of violence and danger, but I also want to see her at home with her son. It's unpredictable. And it's not bland, like this Charlie/Vincent shit is. |
| "I loved it in the Olden Days because you talked more. There’s more action now. You know, we would do scenes in the Rovers of me, Bet and Doris Speed with a cup of coffee each before we opened the pub, talking about absolute rubbish. But it was something, and it was what people do." - Betty Driver | |

If Dean's going to die, I can see it being suicide. |

If anyone is going to kill Dean, I'd rather it be Roxy in self defence. It would give Roxy a much needed change of direction, and would rid us of Dean at the same time. |

hmmm, let someone else do the dirty work this time. Ronnie is too much of a scapegoat already. |

no way, Dean is just an ordinary rapist/coward. He hurts others but keeps his beard intact. |

I'd like Roxy to kill Dean and frame Ronnie for it. |
