Kathy and Den were "killed off" in the past and I'm just wondering, who else can come back from the dead? And who would you like to see return to the show alive?

No one ever again.

Cindy, Pete and Paul are the only other off-screen deaths. All could possibly be brought back but none should. I always felt it was either Kathy or Cindy, and Kathy's back now. Besides, none of Cindy's kids are even in the show right now.

None. It's getting beyond absurd now.

After the disastrous Den return, none.

It stretches credibility and EE has always been grounded in realism.

Jake Moon – it was only hinted he was going to be killed in his final scene so he could actually return plausibly.

Johnny Allen. We saw him have a heart attack and then Ruby got the phone call. I could easily buy that he'd fake his death to spare Ruby the bother of visiting him and to get himself out of prison, he'd certainly have the money and connections.

I don't think we should get carried away. I read an interview with DTC where he said he would have brought Tiffany back but it would have been too implausible because we saw her die on screen. That's the rule he's set himself when it comes to restoring any former character to life - they have to have 'died' off screen.

That does still leave us with quite a few characters though and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Paul Trueman and Cindy Beale were back by the end of DTC's reign. Angie is less of a possibility because Anita Dobson has always been reluctant to return even before she was killed off. But I'm sure she's on DTC's wishlist - she was Kathy's best mate and Sharon's mum after all. Pete Beale could be another good one now that Kathy is back though.

I guess it all depends on how Kathy's return goes down when she is properly back on screen. But the signs so far are positive.

Debbie Tyler-Bates. We never saw her get hit by the car (due to Nichola Duffett being pregnant at the time of filming her exit).

Bet she is in witness protection and Tracy is hiding her away secretly. That's why Kathy knew who to contact on the Square last week.

I think Kathy should be the last resurrection unless it's Pat. :D

No. Never. No one. Ever.

This horse has bolted. Bringing back Den was stretching the imagination; bringing back Kathy has tried to be plausible, and is succeeding at the moment, but I think all resurrections should stop here and now.

Michelle Collins and Gary Beadle can grouse all they want and throw out hints, but Paul Trueman is dead as a dodo. Patrick identified his body. Paul is dead. He's not in witness protection or on the Costa del Sol living it up, he was executed.

Angie may have died off-screen, but Sharon was with her when she died. She brought her body back and buried her. There would certainly be no reason to lie about her death. If there were a choice between bringing back Cindy Beale or Kathy, DTC made the right choice. None of Cindy's children are on the Square at the moment, and there's more scope in Kathy being there than in Cindy.

Jonnie Allen died. As next-of-kin and as someone who was of age, Ruby Allen would have had to have identified his body. He was dead and cremated.

Jake Moon's ending is ambiguous, but he has no family or reason for returning at the moment. Besides, when Alfie was on the Square during his last stint (2010-2015) he never mentioned Jake once.

I guess the rule of thumb now for EastEnders is that if a character dies off-screen, the actor had better be dead, like Mike Reid or John Bardon.
