I never wanted EastEnders to revert back to the Stacey Slater show upon hearing about Lacey Turner's return, but I never expected for one moment that we would be left with this crap regarding her. The 'love' square involving Martin/Stacey/Kush/Shabnam has been nothing short of abysmal and is an even worse idea than her affair with Ryan back in 2010. The key storyline has been going in circles for almost two years now which makes me think that the scriptwriters have absolutely no idea where the hell they are going with it. I would actually say that Ronnie is better written at the moment than Stacey (and this is coming from a person who despises Ronnie and used to love Stacey). I'm sick of waiting for something interesting to happen with her and would quite happily see Lacey quit rather than watch this rubbish material that she is getting. Very random post I know but I just wanted to vent . Edited by Blokeoptimistic, 18 Sep 2015, 21:16.

For me, I don't really like Stacey - I like Lacey and I think she's a great actress, but Stacey, dare I say, annoys me because she's so mean to people a lot of the time. I agree that she needs a good storyline. I don't know what though. |

I do understand the frustration but I think this post is premature. The key is still dangling. It's been promised she has a big story coming up very soon which will peak at Halloween which I expect will see them finally follow through on the key. If this story fails to deliver fine, but I think we'll only have to stay patient for a little bit longer.

I keep forgetting about the key! Did we ever find out how Stacey got the key back from Lauren? We never saw her ask her for it back, did we? |

This key mystery is annoying me now - it first appeared in like Feb 2014 and we still don't know much about it. Just that she got it from Sean and its to do with Brian and might be about a secret family. I'm glad it's not the Stacey show but come on - she's worth better than dragged on mysteries and a crap Kush crush. I'd much rather see her and Martin trying to build a family with the drama being at dealing with Bi Polar in this set up. |

I will admit I've found 2015 disappointing as far as Stacey goes. She's still one of my favourite characters because of her brilliant first stint but it's been a while since I've found her interesting or enjoyable to watch. I think in 2014 it helped that while she didnt have a big story she was mixing with lots of A list characters: Max, Lauren, Kat, Alfie, even the Carter's through her involvement with Dean. She's quite isolated since Lauren left, Kat and Alfie left and Max was put behind bars. Hopefully her story will kick in soon and put a very different reflection on things. |

Stacey asked for it back, Lauren said she'd forgotten where she put it (she was distracted by all the Lucy stuff) and then Stacey found it in a drawer at the car lot. |

If you removed the word "again" from the title of this thread you will be left with my thoughts on this character. |

As well as block storylining, I think the show is suffering from a surplus of A-List characters, with the writers floundering about how much screen time to give them, and not wanting to admit that there are any real B-list, or background characters. It's a given that there are going to be some characters who figure more than others, but the show can't help to promote the likes of the Cokers and they abysmal Hubbards right to the forefront, and to even think of a talented actress like Diane Parish playing straight man to Tameka Empson (Kim is B-lister material) is a crime. 2014 was all about the Carters, but Jesus! They're almost non-existent now, and have become incidental to the rest, but we see a couple weeks of snippet storyline here and there, then wait some weeks, even months, before that situation is revisited. We've got an A-List of: Ian, Jane, Bobby, Sharon, Phil, Kathy, Gavin, Ben, Jay, Abi, Max, Carol, Lauren, Dot, Cora, Ronnie, Roxy, Dean, Shirley, Buster, Mick, Linda, Nancy, Dean, Babe, Tamwar, Masood, Shabnam, Kush, Carmel, Les, Pam, Paul, Vincent, Claudette, Denise, Kim, Stacey, Whitney and Martin. That's a lot of major characters wanting major plots. |
