EastEnders: Sarah Hills and Dan Sullivan return to Walford; Early 2018

It's early 2018 and John Yorke has left, his stint as temporary EP is over. There is a brand new EP, ''Sarah Hills'' from Walford Web :P who doesn't plan to have many returns. Much to the disappointment of many there will be no Kat, Alfie or Janine returns during this period, there will infact be only two returns. The first being Kathy's niece Sarah Hills who was played by Daniela Denby Ashe between 1995 and 1999 and Dan Sullivan played by Craig Fairbrass between 1999 and 2001. Due to an intense hatred of recasts both characters are played by the original performers. ''Sarah Hills'' has also made the controversial and bold decision to axe Phil Mitchell with the obligatory ''explosive exit'' coming up soon.

So Sarah would return first. At the end of a Monday episode (January or February 2018) Kathy gets a knock at the door and answers to find Sarah at the door. She says ''Sarah?!'' in a shocked voice and Sarah replies cheerfully ''Hello Auntie Kath!'' Sarah's appearance is quite clearly very different now, we can tell she has changed a lot in just these few seconds of screentime. Sarah than gets the duff duff for her very first episode back!

The Tuesday episode begins with Kathy and Sarah having breakfast the following day. Kathy comments on how she can't believe how much Sarah has changed and Sarah replies that ''no one is the same person they once were, i bet you've changed a lot too'' Kathy asks after Joe and Sarah becomes awkward and evasive, changing the subject quickly.

Sarah will have a scene with Ian at some point in the episode, but they were never very close so they will be quite distant with each other. Sarah will probably put her foot in it and upset Ian by saying something stupid or insensitive about Lucy, Bobby or Steven (or all three of them!)

Kathy takes Sarah to have a look around the Sq and Sarah is in bitchy mode and comments that the place is still a dump. On being told that there was recently a gas explosion she thinks its a pity it didn't wipe the Sq out for good. Kathy is shocked by Sarah's bitter and cold attitude.

They run into Dot on their travels. Dot has to be reminded who Sarah is as its been so long since she last saw her, but she quickly remembers that Sarah also had faith in god. When she brings it up Sarah offends her by revealing that she no longer believes in ''the imaginary man in the sky and if you had a brain you'd stop living in a fantasy too'' Dot rushes off in a state and Kathy reprimands Sarah for her harsh words.

They go to the Cafe and Kathy begins her shift. Sarah comments that it ''somehow seems incredible that a person can come back from the dead and still end up back in the same greasy spoon they worked in all those years ago'' Kathy is left stunned by the comment.

Later that evening Sarah meets Ben for the first time since he was a baby, the encounter is awkward and stilted. Kathy and Ian try and break the awkwardness. but Ben loses patience and says he has to leave as he is meeting Jay for a drink. After he has left Sarah seems to be upset by how awful the meeting was but Kathy comforts her by saying that it was bound to be difficult at first as the pair of them are like strangers, but it will get better in time.

The Thursday episode arrives. Kathy again asks Sarah about Joe and Sarah is again evasive. This time Kathy is suspicious. Kathy wonders how long Sarah plans to stay for and what her plans are while she is here. Sarah is again evasive but says she would like to go to the Vic for a drink later on that night.

Later in the episode Sarah gets a phone call on her smartphone. The caller is Joe and they argue. Sarah tells him to get lost but is overheard by Kathy. Kathy now demands some answers so Sarah finally admits that she has left Joe and doesn't intend to go back to him. She reveals that they have had problems for a few years now and she has finally walked out on him. Kathy is surprised that Sarah would abandon her marriage in this way.

Later still they go to the Vic where Sarah bumps in to Martin. Martin cannot remember her, so she tells him that he was just a young boy the last time she saw him but he has changed a lot now and grown into a handsome man. Stacey is there and takes an instant dislike to Sarah. Sarah and Kathy sit down with Martin and Stacey for a while but Sarah becomes drunk and starts to behave inappropriately, openly flirting with Martin infront of Stacey. This causes Stacey to lose her temper and throw a drink in Sarah's face. Sarah responds by slapping Stacey hard in the face and the two of them fight. Martin and Kathy break them up and Kathy takes Sarah home. Back at home Kathy tells Sarah that she is ashamed of her and just does not know what has got into her, she misses the Sarah she used to know. Sarah is unrepentant and makes a few derogatory comments about Stacey. After they have finished arguing, Sarah makes her way to bed. Once alone in her room she makes a phone call and speaks to a mysterious person, she is happy to speak to them and agrees to meet them the following day.

The Friday episode. Kathy and Ian are having breakfast as Sarah comes in dressed up to the nines and reveals she is going out for the day and shan't be back until later. Kathy wants her to make the time to visit Martin and Stacey so she can apologize for her behaviour the previous night but Sarah doesn't have the time to talk about it now. She gives Kathy a kiss on the cheek and swans off. Left alone again Kathy confides in Ian that ''i just don't know whats got into that girl!''

As she is waking down Bridge street towards the tube, Sarah has her first scene with Phil, who is coming out of the minute mart with a newspaper and a bottle of milk. Phil is walking past Sarah oblivious when she stops him and says hello. Phil takes a moment to register the face and tells her its good to see her and that she ''looks well'' He asks what brings her back to Walford and Sarah says that she ''had to come and see Auntie Kath, its been years'' Phil says that he'll see her again before she leaves and they can catch up properly but right now he has stuff to do and Sarah tells him that she also has stuff to do and will look forward to seeing him again later While the encounter seems pleasant enough, its only when Phil walks off that the look on Sarah's face changes to one of hatred as she drops the fake smile and watches him walking away

Sarah is absent for most of the middle section of this episode. She reappears again around the 20 minute mark. She is in a location that many viewers would recognise, the canal where Michelle and Den had their secret meetings many years ago. She texts someone on her phone to ask ''Where are you?''

More time passes, we are a minute or so from the end of the episode. Sarah looks fed up and about to leave as someone arrives to meet her. ''You're here at last, i was about to give up on you'' she tells him. ''Sorry babe, i got held up'' he replies

The man she is meeting is Dan Sullivan. They embrace and kiss. The episode ends, they both share the duff duff. Sarah gets her second duff duff in her first week back and Dan gets his first duff duff also in his first episode back.

The following Monday's episode carries on from where the cliffhanger left off. Sarah and Dan are still at the canal and as they talk they reveal their sinister plans. Dan still has a grudge against Phil and wants his final and permanent revenge on him. Sarah reveals that over many years she grew to deeply hate and resent Phil for the misery he caused to her Aunt during their marriage. She blames Phil for driving Kathy away in the first place and she is angry that she believed Kathy was dead for all those years when she was actually alive. None of it would ever have happened if it wasn't for Phil and his drinking. She talks about how Joe had a drink problem just like Phil did and it destroyed their marriage and how she hates alcoholics and the misery they cause. She wants Phil to pay and will help Dan to achieve it. They agree to keep meeting in secret for a while but Dan won't make an appearance on the Sq until the time is right. Sarah says she still wants to get her hands on the Vic like they planned and Dan assures her that they will in time. Sarah wants to be the landlady of the pub The Mitchell's once owned and Dan wants to get the pub back as a reminder to Phil about how he was forced out of there when he was half owner back in 2000.

They part company for now and Sarah heads back to the Sq. Later that evening she is back with Ian and Kathy and when they ask about her day and what she was doing she replies ''Nothing interesting, i just met up with a friend but it was pretty boring really''

They have so much potential. Your harnessing of this potential is brilliant and I can't wait to read more. Plus family for Kathy= YAY!
