Mick Carter Appreciation Thread

Mick is what really got me hooked on the extended Carters. The scene when Johnny came out was really moving. I like the vulnerability Mick has, his fear of swimming etc, yet when he needs to be tough for his family, he absolutely will.

The character started off brilliantly. Cheeky chappie, funny, bit-of-a-geezer swagger, faithful to his wife, decent family man, but with an underlying temper so he could fit the tough guy mould too.

He ticked all the boxes of what was needed to be the perfect landlord of the Vic. A mix-match of Den, Alfie and Grant all rolled into one.

But under SOC's reign the character has been slowly destroyed. We have ended up with a pathetic whiny mummy's boy, self indulgent, weak, feeble, annoying.

I am seeing promising signs that this is changing with recent episodes, maybe SOC realising he went down the wrong path, or his reign coming to an end. Mick is suddenly being portrayed more in the light that made him popular in the first place, and with rumours of the upcoming gangster plot with Phil, I think the character is being salvaged.
